Well at least the fact that most deaths from firearms are self inflicted is now out in the open. I'm waiting for the stats to be published that show of all intentional homicides with guns it is overwhelmingly done by blacks on blacks. Thats what the CDC report shows.

For one, in case the gov't decides to slide into fascism. I want my neighbors to be well-armed. I used to think that guns would have no real effect against tanks, missiles, etc., but Iraq is a prime example of what a well-armed citizenry can do against military might.

Actually, the Founding Fathers were way ahead of you. The right to bear arms stems directly from their belief that the citizenry must be able to protect itself from outside threats AND from threats created by a government which becomes unbearable to the citizens. Jefferson is quoted as saying it is not just a right but a duty of the people to overthrow a government when it becomes tyrannical.
