Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Since Mitt Romney dropped out of the GOP presidential sweepstakes, John McCain has held just one public campaign event on a weekend. Usually, he's hanging out at his homes in Arlington, VA, Phoenix and Sedona, AZ, or San Diego, CA. As with so many issues surrounding his bid, McCain's schedule is a sensitive topic because it is unavoidably suffused with the looming question of his age.

Well the old man needs his sleep.

Lay off of Gramps already. He gets ornery very easily.

that's because he's up all night on the weekdays trying to pee.

Maybe he should run for president of France.

Yeah, that republican work ethic, with Bush going to bed early, taking more vacations than the French, etc, we are in good hands with republicans.

But on the other hand, maybe it's good they don't work so much. If they worked more, they would be thinking of ways to screw us more.

When the red phone rings at 3:00 AM at President Mcsame's WH, it'll just go to the answering machine.

Shrub was dumbfounded when his advisors told him it wouldn't be a good idea to stay in Crawford most of every week. We would have all been better off if he had.

Don't you want a president who works his ass off for the country?

George Bush proudly proclaims that he's in bed by 9pm every night! WTF!?!

I want someone who stays up and works late into the night and does actually worry about things.....not some retard who crawls in bed by 9pm after having watched several hours worth of TV.

"Lay off of Gramps already. He gets ornery very easily."

How DARE you call me ornery you bloated sack of protoplasm! I'll keel you!

-John (Gampy) McBush

"Yeah, that republican work ethic, with Bush going to bed early"

Clinton was going to bed all hours of the day.

Clinton was going to bed all hours of the day.

Nah, he did it standing up - ask Monica

"Clinton was going to bed all hours of the day."

You really ought to brush up on the Starr Report. No bed involved. Some ceegars, but no bed.

Really? Do you worry alot? Worrying about your problems does nothing to solve them. Now, if you change the phrase from "worry about things" to "think of solutions", then I may agree with you.

Obama Leads McCain in Four Battleground States
"An emerging Democratic coalition of women, minorities and younger voters is propelling Illinois Sen. Barack Obama to leads of five to 17 percentage points over Arizona Sen. John McCain among likely voters in the battleground states of Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin," according to four Quinnipiac University polls released today, conducted with The Wall Street Journal and washingtonpost.com.

Sen. McCain's lead among white voters in Colorado and Michigan cuts the gap to single digits, but doesn't offset Sen. Obama's strength among other groups. The Democrat also leads by eight to 21 percentage points among independent voters in each state.

Obama's lead would be even greater if McCain would just go out and work on weekends.

I think McCain should take all weekends off and all weekdays off too.

Clinton was going to bed all hours of the day.

I thought the problem was he was "up" too often.

No Clinton's problem was he had an erection that lasted for four years, and kept him up.

Problem???

When did sex become a bad thing?

Did I miss a meeting?

"Hey Bill, while you were sleeping we had a meeting. Fucking's out"

"Can I still vote?"

Yet at the same time, his aides don't want to wear him out and risk raising fears about his age by pushing him so much so that he gets sick.

So I guess the world issues can wait for monday mornings if (a big reach) McBush is elected.

And hear you thought Lil Bush took a lot of vacation time.

This is what happens when you nominate a 71 year old man to be president. The life expectancy of an American man is only 74.8, which means there's a statistical probability that the guy is going to die in the middle of his term.

"When did sex become a bad thing?"

As soon as the Oval office had to be renamed the oral office. Anyway the point being Bill would poke anything anywhere anytime except his wife.

Sure I worry......I worry just enough to care to do something about it.

If you're thinking up solutions to problems, chances are you're worried enough about said problems in the first place to do so.

The point I was making is that Bush goes to bed at 9pm every night without a care in the world, all while having a war raging for 5 years with no end in sight.

I see something fundamentally flawed about a man who can take a country to war on lies and then sleep so soundly while our troops die and our dollar plummets.

"I see something fundamentally flawed about a man who can take a country to war on lies and then sleep so soundly while our troops die and our dollar plummets."

Sounds like a sociopath.

"Sounds like a sociopath."

Ya think???

Danni, that was just for openers. I'd go on but I don't want to start drinking before going to the rec center.

Actually Joe, the current statistical probability has McCain dying in the middle of Obama's term.

Let's be as accurate as possible......

McCain Won't Work. Period.

except his wife.

Can you blame him?

I'm not sure it will matter if McAncient works 24/7 from now until the election:

Yes that is what I heard from you Dems in 2004 when Kerry was supposed to be a slam dunk. Don't worry you will screw it up. Too many angry libs in one room

You very well could be right, Timbci. The braindead + Diebold could equal defeat once again.

To many angry libs?

Like screaming that Rachael Ray's scarf is showing support for terrrrrists? Talk about your scared & angry party.

McCain won't work week-ends?
Actually any President in "on call" 24/7 so whethe
he's in the Oval Office or not makes no difference.

Forget about McCain and start to wake up. If McCain's elected he will resign from office shortly after the election due to "health concerns." It's already a back room, done deal that McCain is running as a temporary shill, a front man in this campaign, in order for the GOP to get in office the real person the Republicans want as their next President. That person will be known to us as soon as McCain picks his VP. My bet on the person who will be chosen by McCain to be his Vice President? Jeb Bush.

You know Chris I think you might be right, and that scares me more than anything I can think of right now, here we all were railing against Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton and unless we get the voters out in a landslide it could end up being Bush/Clinton/Bush/Bush. Thanks for the nightmares tonight.

JEB is the one name you don't hear too much when it comes to McCain's short list. However, I think he'd have to fight Romney to the death for the job.

Hell McCain is "Out to Lunch" most of the time anyways. Hell if it weren't for His "Spouse" Joe LIEberman He wouldn't know which socks to put on and which enemy is colaberating with Iran. Hell I wouldn't doubt they installed "Lojack" on Him so His handlers know where He is at all times.

LARRY

Sometimes when I'm listening to McCain, I get this visual image of that old cartoon character "Deputy Dawg."

Good point TwinPac. He acts like a classless Jim Ignatowski, Like His mind is somewhere's else.

yeah and there is also a statistical probability that SHIT HAPPENS.....and any president could die in office.......so what? yeah sure the odds go up but thats what your side said about reagan and he is the 2nd grestest president of the 20th century.

AND........

*PLESSE=PLEASE....guess I got excited.

PLEASE PICK JEB!!!!

Doc, your headline is misleading. Original article headline says "Doesn't" work weekends... (besides, one could argue why did he need to when he could sit at home and watch Obama and Hillary chase each other all over the country for 3 or 4 months?). You changed the word from "Doesn't" to "Won't", which more implies "in the future", which is not addressed in the article.

You are usually above the semantic games here.

Ooo... my nipples just got hard.

Diebold .... the "fluoridated water" of the new millenium.

****** McCain Won't Work Weekends *****

.......come November he won't have to work at all......
