Bush cut the funds of the ACOE! The assholes in the ACOE stopped the work. Idiots.
Huh? You took exactly what I said in my own post and then regurgitated it in your post as if it's you who were the one presenting the "facts." Of course the ACOE had to stop their work. Duh. That's a no brainer. What choice did the ACOE have? Bush cut all their funding. You expect the ACOE to work as a charity?
Back in the late 1990s, the Clinton Administration had started -- and provided funding for -- a 10 year program with the ACOE to rebuild/repair Louisiana's levees. The ACOE's work on the levees was stopped by Bush in 2003 (half way through the project) because at the time Bush informed Louisiana officials he needed to re-direct federal funding away from the ACOE levee repair project to be used instead for his new war in Iraq . That is the truth. You're the one who needs to go back an re-read the facts, not me.
This has nothing to do with (well known) shady Louisiana state politics -- absolutely nothing at all. That's only you madly doing a deflection tap dance. This had everything to do with federal funds being taken away by Bush for his war in Iraq rather than going for badly needed infrastructure repairs here in the U.S. (like the levees in LA and Iowa).
You can deflect and spin like a twirling madman all you want, Eddie, but it won't work. Facts are on my side. Seriously, why do you still insist on defending what this Administration in the White House has done to our country? Bush's approval ratings are in the 20s! Hmm, could it be you are perhaps on the receiving end of some of Bush's cost plus, no bid, very lucrative Iraq war profiteering contracts and you want your deadly little gravy train to continue?
The Bush Administration has raped my country and left her badly bruised and bloody. Hopefully the U.S. can get rid of all their ilk and finally start to heal in January 2009 (unless McCain is elected to continue Bush's third term in office).
