Google search: NAME OF BAND OR CD torrent

the end

Napster kind of put the final nail in the coffin for the record companies. It was bound to happen in a FREE market. The resistance of new technology is futile.

Star Trek rules!

Pay Back is a bitch

In retrospect it was obviously pushing PC security limits by allowing all other computers to scan my hard drive for songs....I stopped downloading when the RIAA started going after people.

Free market? It is as free as the amount of money in one's checking account.

Add in the rather substantial investment one must make up front to download all this tunage in the form of a PC (or Mac). Add on top of this monthly broadband access fees ('cause you ain't gonna do this with dial-up).

Also add in the rather substantial time investment searching, previewing, downloading, then loading onto a player (or disc or flash device, etc.) (yet another investment of dollars) all this tunage.

Also add on top various software packages for downloading, editing, security, etc.

All considered, this free market is pretty damn expensive.

You were doing it wrong, DaveTheWave. Download, and then move them to a non-scanned folder. Leave one song in the scna folder -- a public-domain copy of "The Star Spangled Banner" -- meet the requirement that you share something.
