I posted an entry with the same title. Here are my thoughts:

First of all, I think he is barking up the wrong tree. If his wife is going to campaign for her husband, her remarks are open for criticism. Either tell her to STFU or be willing to take it like a man.

Let's list all the things Obama says we cannot do during his campaign:

1. Talk about his ears 2. Say his middle name 3. Quote anything he or his wife have said or done 4. Say anything about his mother, his father, his grandmother, his "former" minister or his terrorist friends 5. Talk about his race, his income, his lack of experience, his patriotism or his background 6. Say anything against his stand on issues, such as appeasement (You can't even talk about appeasement at all without insulting him)

Did I miss anything?

And one more thing, Obama. In all seriousness, if you can't use your influence to get your own wife to to tone it down, how do you envision yourself having any influence on the world stage?

It's one thing and accepted practice to consider a candidate's children off limits (unless they're under age booze hounds) but when its the spouse, the rules are quite different. Especially when that spouse plays such an active role in the campaign.

I don't know what he was thinking threatening the GOP like that.

Speaking of candidate's wives, Cindy McCain's decided not to complete the memoirs she contracted to do with Viking this April. One wag over at 23/6, however, supplies a table of contents that includes:

Here, the perception by idolators of Obama is one that imbues him with all "virtue," and denominates another with all "wickedness." Well, their long-held stereotypical perception of Bush as embodying all evil set them up for viewing a "white knight" as embodying all good.

These people don't realize how they have been manipulated, and have even manipulated themselves so they maintain understandings not consonant with reality. Now, subject to the neurotic process of "splitting the ambivalence," they are generally unable to disabuse themselves of the delusions that preclude them from perceiving reality. Their processing of relevant data is "in a rut," so to speak. Their ability to view Obama based on his now displayed attributes has been nullified by their subjection to the "splitting the ambivalence" process.

This process is seen in dsysfunctional families in which one child is all good, can do no wrong, and another is perceived and treated as all bad, can do no right. These intrafamily perceptions are demonstrated to be erroneous in therapy.

You folks are in thrall of this mode of processing of information, and shall remain supporters of Obama, driven by your inability to view him for what he is. Apologists and justifiers will deny this to themselves, just as a hypnotized person claims that he did not need to make an ass of himself on the stage following the directions of the hypnotist. But somehow he just did. But it was not because he was hypnotized. Oh no.

Yes, "the elites" could not be subject to bandwagon techniques, and could not be splitting the ambivalence. They are not subject to normal processes. Sure. Uh-huh. Yeah. They continue to embrace Obama despite all of the negatives, many of which by themselves would remove a candidate from the political scene. But once committed and subject to the psychological constraints, reality is held at bay.

I finally figured it out: Johnson's paid by the word.

I didn't say I agree with how he's handled this. I just know that one of the (many) issues for Kerry in 2004 is when he was attacked in some cases, for whatever, he said nothing. That seemed to make people believe what was being said about him.

I disagree. Actually, I find her rather odd looking. She's obviously had a ton of work done. I don't find it particularly flattering. She's kind of attractive, but not beautiful in my opinion.

Obamamama has mouthed off "For the first time in my adult life I'm proud of my country" and a few other choice tidbits that the voting public needs to know about. She will take the role of First Lady if Obama is elected and she will have influence over what Obama says and does as President whether or not he admits it. She has written essays, etc. during her years at a very expensive college (aww, poor thing) and if she doesn't like her words coming back to hit her in the face now -- well, too bad.

She whines that America is "mean" (I think that was her word for our country, can't remember right off hand) yet she and her hubby attended VERY expensive Ivy League colleges and the Obama's bank balance is sure a lot healthier than mine is yet I never would consider my country as being mean to me.

She and her hubby were married by their radical, white people hating racist "spiritual mentor" Rev. Wright who for 20 years preached Black Nationalism as their form of religion and both their kids were baptized by the Rev. Got news for you, Mrs. Obamamama, you ain't seen nothing yet as to what's going to be used to vet both you and your husband as the election gets closer. Obama NEVER had to show real competition in any political race. I believe his only opponent for the Senate dropped out of the race even before the election was held.

Although a little off topic --

I believe ALL the candidates' children under age 18 should be off limits to any derrogatory comments by the press. (The Republicans putting down Chelsea for her looks when the kid was only 12 years old and still in braces was despicable until the Clintons finally had to demand the press knock it off. Even fatso Rush had the nerve to put that child down for her appearance.)

Even a candidate who has young adult children -- if their kids have not done anything to invite ridicule and are neither in elected office nor helping out on the campaign trail -- should also be left alone.

But any woman like Michele Obama who wants to be First Lady -- especially since she leans very liberal left and on the radical side and her opinions are almost border-line anti- American -- better be able to stand up to criticism and questioning or get out of the race.

WASHINGTON -- Officials at the University of Chicago Hospitals on Tuesday explained a large salary jump for Sen. Barack Obama's wife shortly after he took office as a normal promotion that reflected expanded duties in her job as a liaison with the South Side community surrounding the medical center.

Michelle Obama was promoted to vice president for external affairs in March 2005, two months after her husband took office in the Senate. According to a tax return released by the senator this week, the promotion nearly tripled her income from the hospitals from $121,910 in 2004 to $316,962 in 2005.

Hospitals spokesman John Easton said Obama's salary was in line with the compensation received by the not-for-profit medical center's 16 other vice presidents.

A tax return for the hospitals covering the 12 months ended June 30, 2005, shows most of the organization's vice presidents earning between $291,000 and $362,000.

Easton said the hospitals had made a determined effort to deepen their connections to the surrounding community, beginning in 2002, when Obama was hired for the new position of executive director for community affairs.

"There was a real initiative by the university and the hospitals to have a real relationship with the community," Easton said. "Over time, she developed a staff. . . . It went from zero staff to Michelle and 10 staff."

Michael Riordan, who was University of Chicago Hospitals president at the time, said he had planned early on for the position to evolve into a vice president's post as a way of showing the organization's commitment to community outreach.

"I knew where I wanted to go with this position," said Riordan, who now is the top executive of the Greenville Hospital System in South Carolina. "I wanted to identify someone to grow into it."

Riordan said Obama's promotion had nothing to do with her husband becoming a U.S. senator.

"She was hired before Barack was Barack," Riordan said. "She is worth her weight in gold, and she is just terrific."
