Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Former Texas congressman Thomas Loeffler, a national co-chairman of John McCain's campaign, quits less than a week after it was revealed he worked as a lobbyist for Saudi Arabia. He's the fifth McCain lobbyist to quit since the last week, when the campagin finally decided the presence of paid lobbyists in its ranks was stinking up McCain's presidential bid. Among those who left the ship: two shills who worked for Myanamar's military dictatorship.

Loeffler was the campaign's national finance co-chairman. According to The New York Times, whose fundraising was already unable to compete with Obama's, "is likely" to depend on the GOP to churn up some cash. As of the end of April, the GOP had $40 million on hand "and has significantly higher contribution limts" (www.nytimes.com). In other words, McBush is dependent on Bush raising dough for him.
