Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Now, jump to September 11, 2001 and its aftermath--and you know the Tai Chi version of history from there. Think of it as a grim cosmic joke--that the 9/11 attacks, as apocalyptic as they looked, were anything but. The true disasters followed and the wounds were largely self-inflicted, as the most militarily powerful nation on the planet used its own force to disable itself.

Before that fateful day, the Bush administration had considered terrorism, Osama bin Laden, and al-Qaeda subjects for suckers and wusses.

This article has it right. Bush and the neocons shot our right legs off and then crowed about how tough they were.

Excellent read.

So, thank you, Osama bin Laden for expediting the Department of Homeland Security, glutting an already bloated Pentagon with even more money, ensuring that all those "expeditionary forces" would sally forth to cause havoc and not find victory in two hopeless wars, enabling the establishment of a vast offshore prison network (and the torture techniques to go with it), and creating a whole new global "security" industry to "thwart terrorists" that was, by 2006, generating $60 billion a year in business and whose domestic wing was devoted to locking down America.

Well said.

Well, Rumsfeld and company are vindicated by the truth of their observations regarding our struggle to maintain our way of life against the Islamics. After all using OPEC, the Islamics have begun "Phase 2" of the offensive, strangling America and the West, and accruing wealth by manipulating the availability of an energy source vital to our existence. We can't survive without it, and our way of life, standard of living has been impacted.

Our treasure is bing transferred to these Islamics, who are buying up media outlets and corrupting our politicians, so that the magnitude of their attack is not immediately apparent, and out counterattack is indefinitely delayed if not totally eliminated as a response until we cannot effectively resist.

The Saudis bought up the Danish newspaper that published the Muhammed cartoons, and fired the editor. Our sources for perceiving the emergency and issuing the clarion call, are impaired.

We are suffering in our everyday lives. We are under attack. Mobilize our forces, and counterattack, seizing the oil fields and refineries, and annihilating our enemies in the process so that we will not be at risk in the immediate future.

We then need to embark on a program to develop alternative sources of energy such as methane (some 55% of BTUs of petroleum based products), biofuels, wind power, tidal power, geothermal power, and the like, and adapt to the new reality.

But for now, we are in crisis. Rumsfeld was right. Save the West. Counterattack now. Seize the oil sources and ameliorate the effect of the growing energy crisis before we are ourselves are rendered helpless.

Hail Bush and Rumsfeld, and the other visionaries, who perceived the Islamic threat and responded to it. Although their innate sense of humanity and reluctance to do harm, their compassion, has heretofore caused us to moderate our response and unnecessarily subject ourselves to harm, we now need to unleash the whirlwind on the Islamics, attack ferociously and save ourselves.

Pax Americana.

Those countries compromised by the Islamic offensive being waged through OPEC, should be asked to join with us in establishing spheres of influence over energy resources available in the ashes of the annihilated Islamic countries.

China, India, and Pakistan with their huge populations, fir exmnaple, might have the oil in the region now known as Iran at their disposal. But there is no need to mete out spheres of influence here. The principle is that the powerful nations will survive, and not allow themselves to be destroyed by self-imposed restraints. To eliminate rivalry among themselves and obtain secure resources, they can now act in concert to allocate the petroleum energy resource.

Either the OPEC countries will submit to coercion and stop their extortionate activities as well as disgorging and returning "profits" they hold to America (and others adversely affected), or it's "War Now."
