Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee

That's a very well-known and popular fair in California with the jumping frog contests and all.

Problem is, and not many people know this, carnivals rides are entirely unregulated as far as safety regulations. When you buy your ticket for a ride from that carnie guy with three teeth you're taking your life in your hands.

I've heard the term "group think" before but can you honestly apply it to an entire state of almost 30 million people as you are doing with your post above?

I, along with 61% of other Californias in the year 2000 voted "Yes" on Prop. 22 which stated "Marriage is only between a man and a woman." Please stop lumping all 30 million of us in my state of California into one single mindset where you think we all think and act entirely alike. You can't even get a group of 10 people to all agree on something let alone a state of 30 million!

i have noticed a lack of supervision
while kids are riding on these things at smaller
fairs while it seems fine at large parks. while
this accident was possibly due to some defect,
closer supervision may have spotted some warning signs and shut the ride doen.
