Now that's very sad, a testimony to the power of nature, and the Chinese organziation and ability to cope with such a massive disruption of life.

The resiliency of the human spirit is manifest. The fact that 7000 schools suffered particularly great damage has led to speculation that they were shoddily built. Graft abounds everywhere. I imagine that there'll be a price to pay by whoever is responsible no matter how highly placed he may be.
