The Supreme Court of California (SCOCAL) is set to decide on the question of gay marriage, apparently in one hour.

Either way, this afternoon promises to be fun because someone will be left unhppy and the controversy will give DR posters lots to chew on.

NULLandVOID's mouth will be full as usual......

A few thoughts on the West Virginia primary. Obama lost by 41 percentage points. I think this fact has been largely ignored by the news media. I was flipping around on the TV that night and NBC kept cutting into their programming with election updates. Typically on this and other networks, they give a vote tally and show the percentage each candidate has earned, along with the percentage of votes counted. For some reason NBC never did this, they simply showed a picture of Hillary that said "projected winner" and said that she was in the lead, and immediately added a qualifier that she is mathematically out of the race. While that is an important fact deserving of attention, the fact is that they were blatantly skirting the fact that Obama got trounced in a state full of blue-collar democrats.

What are Obama supporters' thoughts on this? When have we ever seen someone who is supposedly a frontrunner lose so badly among their own party?

Joe-I expect that the Obamaites stayed home, what with him having secured the nomination. He certainly didn't seem to campaign there as much as Hillary.

Sort of like MCain's winning against no one.

Watched McCain this morning giving his prophecy for his "first" term. Christ, he's got it all figured out. What a joke.

The Bill O'Reilly dance remix has just dropped.

BiggieDan , McCain is a comedian and he is delusional.

What are Obama supporters' thoughts on this? When have we ever seen someone who is supposedly a frontrunner lose so badly among their own party?

I saw this and was pretty worried too - I've been saying for a while now that Obama really needs to break into Clinton's camp of white working-class voters in order to win in November. But it seems like in the last day or two there's been trends in the media that have headed towards closing this gap - Clinton gave a speech that said that her supporters voting for McCain would be a huge mistake, and Edwards (a popular candidate among working-class whites and someone who made poverty a central issue of his campaign) endorsed Obama. The ball's in Obama's hands now, assuming he gets the nomination (which at this point I think is an inevitability). He's got to pick a running mate that will resonate with these voters in order to secure their votes in November. Not surprisingly, the two that jump right to mind are Clinton and Edwards.

I'm still worried, but less than I was on Tuesday evening when I saw Clinton as the projected winner on CNN with 0 votes in.

Funny!

I wonder is his girls will appreciate such foul languge. He always uses his girls as an excuse for everyting, from banning rap to banning gays.

All right, everybody be cool, this is a robbery!

What are Obama supporters' thoughts on this? When have we ever seen someone who is supposedly a frontrunner lose so badly among their own party?

When was the last time West Virginia affected the outcome of the Democratic primary? It's a shame that Obama isn't doing better with working-class, non-college whites, but the idea that he's in trouble would require a strong Republican candidate. Absent a victory in Iraq the next couple months, I don't see that happening.

Gates the Appeaser (The Gospel According to Dubya):

The United States should construct a combination of incentives and pressure to engage Iran, and may have missed earlier opportunities to begin a useful dialogue with Tehran, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said yesterday.

"We need to figure out a way to develop some leverage . . . and then sit down and talk with them," Gates said. "If there is going to be a discussion, then they need something, too. We can't go to a discussion and be completely the demander, with them not feeling that they need anything from us."

Gates wants to TALK????!!! He must hate America...rotten coward.

"Gates wants to TALK????!!! He must hate America...rotten coward."

Yeah! And how about Nixon going to China to visit the Chicomms? What a traitor!

"When was the last time West Virginia affected the outcome of the Democratic primary?"

What does that have to do with anything? I never said it affected the outcome, I said that if this primary is looked at as a referendum on Obama, he isn't doing too well in a large segment of his party. Typically you see people rallying around a frontrunner but with him that does not appear to be happening. The guy lost by 41 percentage points.

"Absent a victory in Iraq"

I don't even know how you would define "victory in Iraq." I suppose the new definition is "us leaving without disaster occurring immediately thereafter."

Military victory in Iraq is a fable. Who will be doing the surrendering when we claim victory? Al Sadr?

he isn't doing too well in a large segment of his party.

The Ignorant?

They might be ignorant, but they still vote.

"The Ignorant?"

So anyone who doesn't vote for Obama is ignorant? Sounds like something he'd say.

"I don't see that happening"- Rogers Gore Kerry

Soooo, the logic for SDs to nominate the Dem candidate who not only lost PA, Ohio, WV, and FL, but also blue-collar workers in most states, is that the competition isn't up to par?

uh-huh. Famous last words.

History I believe will state clearly and forcefully that this President Bush was truly unworthy of the office. His incompetance is shocking, an once again his statement this morning in Israel that somehow Senator Obama is an appeaser when it comes to to Iran, is just another example of his stupidity.

This all the while the President and his policy makers are speaking to Iran an North Korea all the while calling them Terriorst nations. Can this Fucks ever get there stories straight.

To go to Israel an condem the likely Democratic Nominee, all the while pretending to repesenting the AMERICAN people, this fuck made the trip political, because he is a Partisian, his Party first America somewhere down the road.

The statement before the Israel Congress was beneath the dignity of the office of the President but considering what this fuck has done to that office how can anyone be surprised by his actions. What a fucking disgrace.....

FNC is saying SCOCAL rules in favor of gay marriage 4-3 vote.

This is huge.

I am sure Republican Senator Larry Craig is happy as he will now be able to marry his gay lover in California.

Obama also lost California. What's his excuse there?

So what, Joe? Are you saying he'll lose California to McCain in the general? If not, who cares?

"The West Virginia exit polls indicate that he lost white voters 69-28. Astounding? Not really.

In Ohio, Clinton won white voters 64-34.
In Pennsylvania, Clinton won whites 63-37. Indiana? Whites went for Clinton 60-40. Massachusetts? Whites went for Clinton 58-40. Rhode Island? 63-31 for Clinton.
North Carolina? 61-37.

And the same in Arkansas, Tennessee, Maryland, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, Arizona, Missouri and so on."

As much as any Repub should be a push-over this year, Dems are prepared to roll the dice.

We didn't have much of a choice, Corky. If you think nominating Hillary would not result in rolling the dice in the general, you are delusional.

Obama also lost California. What's his excuse there?

Would a California primary be held today, he would win. What's your point?

"As much as any Repub should be a push-over this year, Dems are prepared to roll the dice.

I love how Corky tries to pull this spin. The dems would be rolling the dice on a black candidate, but would be making a safe decision with a woman candidate.

And then, to make it even better people get all defensive when you point out that such an opinion is inherently racist.

All this spinning is making me quesy.

It wasn't a comeback stupid. I was just pointing out the obvious.

I don't read your posts. I just notice all caps, the repeated mention of Fox News, multiple exclamation points, fuck, cunt, etc and realize the Crazyfuck Express just blew through town.

How many cats are roaming your urine stained abode?

You guys change handles more often than BuffaloBob changes his Depends.

101Chairborne, what is wrong with you? Some posters here do the proper thing, and subscribe to "the cult of the personality." They are "properly" reverent in their worship of Great Leader, Narcissist Obama.

He joins the pantheon of Great Leaders including Kim Jong Il and Chairman Mao, and Hitler, and Stalin, and Pol Pot. If Great Leader espouses a postion, good followers of Great Leader recognize his great wisdom and support Great Leader's positions.

Remember "racist 101Chairborne" that Great Leader has been anointed by polarized votes of non-racist blacks in this country. Please demonstrate proper fealty to the liege lord. It seems that today is homage day.

Queen Hillary is dead. Long live Great Leader Obama. The Queen is dead. Long live Great Leader Obama.

"Would a California primary be held today, he would win."

Says who? The guy just lost WV by 41 percentage points. Assuming you are correct, what does that matter? The fact is he lost it when it was held.

What are Obama supporters' thoughts on this? When have we ever seen someone who is supposedly a frontrunner lose so badly among their own party?

----

Clinton is winning the blue collar white vote. Obama is winning the black vote.

Clinton wouldn't win the same number of black votes and Obama wouldn't win the same number of blue collar white votes.

Clinton is going to win some states by narrow and large margins. Same for Obama.

I think when all is said and done, the democratic voters will see that is more important to elect the party nominee rather than hold a grudge that your preferred candidate did not get the nomination.

That would be akin to saying that people who voted for Huckabee won't vote for McLame solely because he never cooked squirrels in his popcorn popper.

- "The dems would be rolling the dice on a black candidate, but would be making a safe decision with a woman candidate.
And then, to make it even better people get all defensive when you point out that such an opinion is inherently racist."

The scary part is that you missed that we were taking about who could win blue-collar workers. She does, he does not.

Of course, the last refuge of cowards and fools in this case is just to call thm all racists.

'Secially those MA and RI KKK'ers, roflmfao!!

'Specially

Who is there lurking as a potential savior of this country? Only weak old white war hero mealy-mouthed non-fighter McCain. McCain has no fire in his belly. McCain asks, "Can't we all just get along." and he hasn't been recently beaten by the police. Is he cowering as a result of flashbacks to his Vietnam imprisonment?

Will a miracle be necessary to rescue this country from the grip of someone ensconced in black liberation theology, black separatism, black preference, and black bigotry for more than 20 years?

Aha! Candidate Obama, who denies familiarity with the hate America, hate whites, hate Jews, positions of Rev. Wright's Trinity Church has written articles published in The Trumpet, the magazine that is the house organ of Trinity, and a publication that is full of the hateful views of Rev. Wright (and his successor pastors), which somehow Candidate Obama has never had the curiosity to read.

And guess what? Candidate Obama appears on the cover of one issue of the magazine embracing, or so they say, none other than Minister Louis Farrakhan of the hate-America, hate-whitey, hate-Jews "Nation of Islam." Publication of this "photo-op" just before the election should convince some American voters that Obama is the stealth incarnation of evil, and repel "stupid whites," and possibly even some limousine liberals.

I wonder if Obama's years as an Alinsky street agitator stirring up racial animosity will also be brought into play. Intelligent voters are so smart that they understand that they need to atone for their sins, and they can do so by allowing themselves to be flagellated by Great Leader, the perfect Negro. But "stupid working class white Americans" may not feel guilty since they are too stupid to process such abstract concepts. But we shall see what we shall see.

Who needs Willie Horton, when there are photos of the candidate himself to be distributed showing him in such a great light? Maybe the Democrats can run an Obama-Farrakhan ticket. That that we certainly demonstrate that white racism does not exist in America. Black racism? Well, that's another matter.

I think when all is said and done, the democratic voters will see that is more important to elect the party nominee

That's what the ignorant led-by-the-nose sheeple will do. The thinking people of the US will consider the candidate and what is best for the country -- be (s)he democrat or republican.

Thank goodness for straight party ballots or the ignorant sheeple of the country would be unable to vote.

Obama-Farrakhan in 2008.

Unity. Solidarity.

Clinton began it. And the Democrat candidates continue to display the virtues that endear them to the electorate. One of them is being a druggie. Does Obama experience flashbacks from his declared drug use?

Was Obama a peddler as well as a user?

Well, that'll secure the college vote for him. Abswentee ballots insure that the "trollers" can go into neighborhoods and fill out ballots for those who don't have a clue as to the issues, or care. But they can be proud voters.

Unity. Solidarity. Tacos.

-The fact is he lost it when it was held.

The fact is that if Rev Wright and BitterClingerGate had come out earlier, she would already be the nominee.

How's the Revko trial going along? Is there honor among thieves, or would Revko "rat out" Obama to secure more lenient sentencing if he himself is convicted?

Would Obama be indicted at this stage of the game if evidence inculpated him?

Candidate Obama appears on the cover of one issue of the magazine embracing, or so they say, none other than Minister Louis Farrakhan

Who are "they"? do you have a link?

Or are "they"the same idiots who bitched about Obama's crazy minister of 20 years but still think he's a muslim?

You guys have got to settle on one scary fact and stick to it. Multi-plexing paranoia and delusions are really bad for you.

www.thetrumpet.com

Ah Corky, the saddest words of tongue or pen, "What might have been."

Rezko put up no defense, so everyone, Obama, Auchi etc, are protected unless Rezko is found guilty and offers information in order to get a sentencing deal.

I just thought she would be the better President.

He'll be OK once someone shows him where the training wheels are.

Oh, oh, there'll be some changes made.

We need to change the chant.

Power to the people.
Black power to the black people.

-needs to be changed to:

Power to the people.
All power to the black people.

After all, Obama is a "Black Power" advocate, and has been in bed with black power advocates for years.

Check his website and look at what he promises.

Holy Shit, it only took 8 yaears, but even the Fighty Rightys finally got a clue:

OK, that's it! Let no one say that the administration has not handled the situation with its typical forbearance and caution. Other, rasher leaders would have shunned Ahmad Chalabi after it became apparent that his network of informants were liars and that he could not be trusted. But the U.S. has not been overly swift to act. Sure, there were suspicions that he had passed classified information to Iran, but this is not a group that rushes to judgment.

Now, however, the straw has finally broken the camel's back:

Sources in Baghdad tell NBC News that as of this week American military and civilian officials have cut off all contact with controversial Iraqi politician Ahmad Chalabi, the former favorite of Washington's once powerful neoconservatives.
The reason, the sources say, is "unauthorized" contacts with Iran's government, an allegation Chalabi denies. Iran has been accused of arming and training rebel Shiite forces in Iraq....

Since September 2007... American military officials and civilian officials working out of the U.S. Embassy had contacts with Chalabi. At that time he was installed as the head of a "services" committee for Baghdad that was to coordinate the restoration of services to the city's residents.

Gen. David Petraeus, commander of the Multi-National Forces-Iraq, even escorted Chalabi on a trip, on U.S. helicopters, to address reconstruction issues. And American officials attended meetings with him and supported his efforts.

Why is it when people create new logins they expose themselves so damn easily as previous posters?

Onto more interesting news... Sen. Biden called President Bush's remarks in Israel "bullshit" today.

"This is bullshit, this is malarkey. This is outrageous, for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, to sit in the Knesset ... and make this kind of ridiculous statement."

Posted by Corky

and, again corky, notwithstanding all of this, she is stil losing! How's that?

www.thetrumpet.com

Keep whistling as you walk by the graveyard. Those issues featuring the "hate speech" aren't washed away.

And boy, would I like to be the one preparing the ads (print, TV) featuring the Farrakhan-Obama cover of Trumpet.

Copies of the magazine are now in the hands of the proper people.

Obama-Farrakhan 2008.

Them there dumb hard-working' tax-payin' white folks, whose knuckles drag on the ground ... guys what carries guns in the cab of their pick-ups, and guys what hunts for food sometime, and what drives to their churches, 'cause they is too dumb to do anything else, still have votes.

It's interesting the terms in which some of the Obama posters disparagingly describe poor whites, and then expect that those whom they revile for their views to appreciate the received wisdom that their betters are willing to give them. What is ironic is that if blacks were described in the same disparaging terms, there would be all sorts of outrage expressed by these same folks.

I think when all is said and done, the democratic voters will see that is more important to elect the party nominee rather than hold a grudge that your preferred candidate did not get the nomination.

You are right. All the little comrades will fall in lockstep.
Now if by some scandal, foul play, or miracle ,The Beast were to take it away from BHO...there would be hell to pay!

and BTW, I have a problem with everyone reporting that Hillary has the "working class" whites in her corner. What she has is the undereducated whites in her corner. The ones who still believe that Obama is a muslim and swore his oath of office on the Koran. I am white, college educated and I work for a living and many of my peers are in the Obama camp because he is the most truthful and sincere candidate unlike HRC, Her Royal Clinton, who is neither truthful or sincere.

-How's that?

It's called proportional primaries and caucuses, numbnuts.

-I am white, college educated and I work for a living

Um, did you really mean to ask that Joe? Just in case you were actually serious, it matters because there will be a general election this fall, and the winner will be determined by who the voters choose in the fall, not who voters chose in the primary. So who is favored today matters more than who was favored a few months ago.

Again, did you really mean to ask that?

And you write so much better than he, too.

JERUSALEM (CNN) In a particularly sharp blast from halfway around the world, President Bush suggested Thursday that Sen. Barack Obama and other Democrats are in favor of "appeasement" of terrorists in the same way U.S. leaders appeased Nazis in the run-up to World War II.

"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," said Bush, in what White House aides privately acknowledged was a reference to calls by Obama and other Democrats for the U.S. president to sit down for talks with leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said in remarks to the Israeli Knesset. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American Senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

SAYS BUSH WHILE CLEARLY ENGAGING IN UNPROVOKED AGGRESSION. THE MEATHEAD HAS TANKS ROLLING ACROSS IRAQ WHILE HE THREATENS IRAN WITH TWO CARRIER GROUPS. ITS NOT THAT EVERY GERMAN LIKED WHAT HITLER WAS DOING. BUT, THEY WERE AFRAID TO SAY ANYTHING, FOR GOOD REASON.

Also, for all you pro-gun control freaks out there --

Remember that when Hilter first came into power just prior to WW II, Hitler convinced all the German citizens it would be in their best interest and would ensure "peace" if the German populace gave up their guns and turned them over instead to the German government.

History now tells us how well Hitler's suggestion turned out for the German people -- and the rest of the world.

CalifChris,
That's nice. Are you suggesting that is a possibility in this country? That somehow ANYONE could convince the people to give up their weapons and the military to confiscate same? That's quite a stretch.

Also, for all you pro-gun control freaks out there -- gave up their guns and turned them over instead to the German government.

The fact that we have to register handguns, and pass a background check for any new firearm is repugnant enough.

Subject: Legend of Frank (Jesus today?:>)

A man walks into the street and manages to get a taxi just going by. He gets into the taxi, and the cabbie says, "Perfect timing. You're just like Frank."

Passenger: "Who?"

Cabbie: "Frank Feldman. He's a guy who did everything right - all the time. Like my coming along when you needed a cab, things happened like that to Frank Feldman every single time."

Passenger: "There are always a few clouds over everybody."

Cabbie: "Not Frank Feldman. He was a terrific athlete. He could have won the Grand-Slam at tennis. He could golf with the pros. He sang like an opera baritone and danced like a Broadway star and you should have heard him play the piano. He was an amazing guy"

Passenger: "Sounds like he was something really special"

Cabbie: "There's more.......He had a memory like a computer. Could remember everybody's birthday. He knew all about wine, which foods to order and which fork to eat them with. He could fix anything. Not like me. I change a fuse, and the whole street blacks out. But Frank Feldman, he could do everything right."

Passenger. "Wow, some guy then."

Cabbie: "He always knew the quickest way to go in traffic and avoid traffic jams, not like me, I always seem to get stuck in them. But Frank, he never made a mistake."

Passenger. "Mmm, there's not many like him around."

Cabbie: "And he really knew how to treat a woman and make her feel good and never answer her back even if she was in the wrong; and his clothing was always immaculate, shoes highly polished too - he was the perfect man! He never made a mistake. No one could ever measure up to Frank Feldman."

Passenger: "An amazing fellow. How did you meet him?"

Cabbie: "Well, I never actually met Frank."

Passenger: "Then how do you know so much about him?"

Cabbie: "I married his widow

By supporting the right-wing policy of Israel unconditionally, he has lost any standing at all in this country and in the Middle East," says Uri Avnery, founder of the Israeli peace group Gush Shalom and one of Israel's most noted peace activists. "Now, when he is approaching the end of his term of office, he's incapable of imposing anything at all even if he wanted to."

Bush's Mideast policy, the 2003 invasion of Iraq and his willingness to stand tough against unfriendly Arab regimes and Islamists have left Israel in a strategically weaker position today than it was eight years ago, says Daniel Levy, a former Israeli peace negotiator who is now a senior fellow at the New America Foundation, a Washington think tank on global and domestic issues.

Iran -- Israel's chief security threat -- has been strengthened by the removal of its nemesis, Saddam Hussein, and the rise of its Shiite allies in Iraq. Today, Iran is moving ahead on a nuclear program that Israelis fear poses a mortal threat to the Jewish state.

Meanwhile, Israel's chief ally, the United States, is bogged down militarily in Iraq and no longer enjoys the regional clout it once held.

"At a mass level, people can go doe-eyed when President Bush repeats these nice, warm, embracing platitudes, but in serious assessments of where Israel is at today versus when Bush took office, I think people are a lot more sober and very concerned about the trajectory of where the region is," Levy says. "People are concerned that America is both so much less respected and feared today."

Wow,

Chair and Ride On trolling together.

I've had more fun today on DR posting stuff purely for my own laughs
and amusement than I have had in a long time. Wish I could stick around longer.

RCADE: If you can lie on your front page and say Bush called the Dems "Nazi Appeasers" then how about a little balance?
