Hey Chris get You a 5 Gallon Water can(Like a Gasoline Gas Can but for water. grab You some of Your favourate Bubblebath liquid and a nice pair of hipwaders(Make sure You get an oversized pair so it comes up to Your shoulder blades) Run You a hose from said watercan to the top of Your hip waders and then run You a high pressure hose on the other side of the hipwaders so Youare blowing the warm water around Your body. Actually I was being deadly serious. That is how I used to take a bath when I was out camping somewhere. Get some water in a 5 gallon water can and set it upon the top of the car early early morning. By around 3 or 4 oclock it will be nicely warmed up. Get into the hipwaders and add a few cups(Not Measuring cup cups) of soap and dump in them. walk around for a while sloshing that warm sudzy water and it will get most of the grime and muck off of You. Then when You get done just lay Your happy ass down allowing the water to escape. and voilla You have taken a Bath. Sure it won't be as clean as say a tub bath but You are trying to conserve water and we all know You can't get squeaky clean by conserving water. Your low flow toilets can atest to that. It works nicely Chris. Oh and washing Your hair is easy. Just find You a stream somewhere dunk Your head in the water and get some Johnson and Johnson no more tears shampoo and wash Your hair like normal. Why the J and J no more Tears?? Because it doesn't have all of those nasty chemicals in it to pollute the stream. Easy Peasy really.

He was surprised to learn that the vineyard specifically flew Mexicans in from California to do the work since they had the best skills and were the fastest. And no they aren't the cheapest by far there is very cheap labor from Slovakia, Romania and Serbia available.

Specifically, which vineyard hires Mexicans?

My in-laws live outside of Eger and we try to go there every couple of years. I may be wrong but I have never heard of any vineyard hiring Mexicans. I'm sure my in-laws would have mentioned it, as they are very sensitive about "foreigners" taking their jobs (mainly Romanians, Turks, and Gypsies).

In fact, it's a somewhat new phenomenon that Eger (specifically, "The Valley of Beautiful Women") actually has any decent wine. It used to have quite a reputation of making some of Hungary's worst rot-gut. Eger has always been a tourist destination for Hungarians, but through some international investment, it has become a major tourist destination for central Europe. Several of Eger's vineyards also export to the US and are usually described as variations of "Bulls Blood" (which the name also has an interesting story behind it).

I have no doubt that wine specialists in California were consulted but I have major doubts that Mexicans were imported for labor.

I think you're under the false impression that we have millions of capable people collecting huge amounts in welfare payments for their entire lives. I believe we passed welfare reform under the Clinton administration. Maybe we need to do a little more but for the most part I don't think that the people collecting would be capable of doing these jobs. If we aren't going to help people to get a job that does at least as good as welfare, how can we demand they get off the dole?

There are plenty of people defrauding our welfare system, who otherwise could work, but the vast majority are not proud to need welfare.

I think the "fix" for welfare and other forms of assistance is to change the recipients reluctance to inform on abusers. Lots of people who legitimately need assistance and who recieve it are very aware of those who don't deserve it yet still receive it. As in other areas like illegal immigration enforcement is too lax.

I get an uneasy feeling when I think about encouraging citizens to turn one another in. Too Germany 1936 for me.

A good fix would be to allow recipients to be married and live with one another. People are forced to have two homes when only one is necessary, representing an unneeded drain on their already scarce resources.

I do know what you are saying Hagbard but let me just tell a short story. I used to live accross the street from a house being rented under Section 8 Housing. The people living there drove new BMWs, a Jaguar, etc. They dressed much better than I could yet they received Section 8. Well, I called the Housing Office for the City of Hollywood florida and to may amazement the office did its job. those thieves were out of there by the end of the month and....the owner of the property was so pissed that I called. I loved that. Since then, I'm sorry, they are receiving assistance which our taxes pay for, we have a right to make sure they are not abusing the system. It isn't as if we are reporting political activities or even pot smoking. NO, we're just reporting theft and I don't really think that is really similar to what occurred in Nazi Germany.

The savings from illegal labor does not usually make it's way to the consumer. It is kept as profit.
If it does make its way to the consumer, well tough nookies. Other things rise in price, labor needs to also.

The need for agricultural workers could be met by importing gangs of workers for that specific purpose, and having them leave after they have completed their job. At one time Filipinos were imported to the Imperial Valley among other places in California for harvesting the crops. Mexicans were too. The guest worker program worked after the people fleeing the "Dust Bowl" were absorbed into the local population. The guest workers were more then more industrious than other native labor available, labor that is often now supported by welfare as their preferred alternative.

We need guest worker programs, not illegal aliens settling here.
Supposedly our programs are designed in our own self-interest. Otherwise we are acting irrationally.

Special provisions should be made for guest labor gangs. They should be kept together. Housed. Fed. Have medical care provided. Not be permitted more than one tax deduction and have this fact be incorporated in calculating compensation, and transported home to Mexico, or wherever when the harvest season was over. Also, there should be a change in law eliminating anchor babies, or women should be excluded and not permitted to work as guest workers.

The guest worker program would serve our needs and the needs of the people employed. Mexico would not lose its vital populations, and they would have extra money for whatever purpose they chose to use it.

Curtailing welfare programs would make workers available for employment in slaughterhouses, and the like. Restriction of welfare payments might force people into employment. Well that and stiffer jail sentences with fewer privileges while in confinement. Maybe we could also exchange some of our idlers for Mexican workers. Just a thought.

In fact, it is a fact that productivity has risen a great deal during the past seven years but wages have remained stagnant, therefore the profit on labor has increased. Thus it weakens the argument that illegal labor saves consumers money.

2) take all these illegals that were caught and ship them south, right away. Issuing notice that if they are caught in the USA again, they shall meet their employers in prison for 2 YEARS minimum, with bubba waiting.

A few years ago I inadvertently hired two illegals. Their documentation checked out--all their papers in good order, etc. I did suspect, though, that they were illegal. Just a feeling, but we needed the labor. After six months of running ads in the paper, they were the only ones who came.

Should I go to prison? For how long? And if yes, can you send a certain manufacturing company welders willing to work for five months for $12 an hour?

101, every single person here that is reasonable would be SUPER pissed like me if they lived through what I have.

I live in So. Cal. When I say this, I mean it.

EVERY single member of my family has been almost killed by an illegal. Every single one.

Me personally, this happened. I was sitting at a stop light at 7 PM, nobody behind me, S600 brand new mercedes in front of me. An illegal immigrant, with 5 people in the car (a clown car we call it in CA) hit me going 60 MPH, not even hitting the brakes.

this front end went under my back end, launching me entire car into the air, and I landed on the back of the S600 mercedes.
I almost died.

I fell out of the car onto the pavement after I got my seatbelt off. I was laying on the street, could not walk, or get up, and I was screaming at the stupid police officer to give me the DL# and Lic Plate number of the car that hit me, because I knew they were illegals.

The guy in the mercedes gave it to me later. He was ok.

So the ambulance comes, and takes the 5 mexicans to the hospital, because they are all fucked up, and the police officer asks me if somebody can come pick me up because there is no more ambulances available for me.

So then I get home, and have bruises all over my head, neck and chest from hitting the steering wheel and headboard area.

I find out from the hospital, that they treated and released all the illegal aliens, which did NOT have insurance OR drivers lic. LOL And I found out from the police that ICE was never informed because of special order 40.

So to sum it up. The illegals almost killed me, were PRIORITY in the ambulance, no room for me, a tax paying american. And they got out of the hospital FREE OF CHARGE, and were not deported.

And that happened in something like this to EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF MY FAMILY>

I"m surprised after reading the article that they didn't mention any arrests of the ownership.

Why doesn't it make sense to arrest the owners - who MUST have known most of their employees were illegal. A 2 minutes credit check uncovers whether or not the number is valid, who it belongs to, and if it is an actually issued number - or not one issued before the birth of the suspected illegal. My wife does checks every day in her business. Illegals stick out like a sore thumb during credit checks. It's obvious at first glance.
