Electoral Votes:

I thought WV was a bumfuck red state. Since when do they matter, eh Cork? According to you, all the ones that Obama trounced Clinton in don't count, so why does this one?

Electoral Votes:

Clinton 280 McCain 241 Ties 17

Obama 237 McCain 290 Ties 11

That is because while the Dems are fighting each other, McCain has gotten a free ride from the media. Just you wait until the Dems have a nominee and then see what happens.

This will be a proof of concept election, people will have to get over their fear of voting for a black guy or an old guy. I think it will even out. Many people won't vote for Obama 'cause he's black, many won't vote for McCain 'cause he's old.

Plus, as much as Corky hates to admit it, many voters who support Clinton will have no problem voting for Obama in the general, which throws the Corkster's "She won the swing states" argument right out the window.

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro

That gives Obama 27 (superdelegates) in the past week.

*** UPDATE 3 *** NBC News has allocated the final remaining pledged delegate in North Carolina to Obama. The count is updated below.

*** UPDATE 4 *** We have also reduced Clinton's total by one after a superdelegate tells NBC News they are not, in fact, committed to either candidate.

The NBC NEWS delegate counts:
PLEDGED: Obama 1,591-1,426
SUPERS: Obama 283-275.5
TOTAL: Obama 1,874-1,701.5

----

A good number of SDs have endorsed Obama in the past week. Don't think WV is going to change that. Hillary is done...not many are buying her electability argument.

-I thought

That was your first mistake. Dems don't get elected President unless swinging WV votes for them. Look it up.

But I understand. It is more important for Obama to win the primary than for Dems to win the election.

- voters who support Clinton will have no problem voting for Obama in the general

"John Kennedy didn't have the number of delegates he needed when he went to the convention in 1960," Sen. Clinton said. "But he had something equally as important. He had West Virginia behind him. Because it's a fact that Democrats don't get elected president unless West Virginia votes for you."

"Angela Steffey, a 43-year-old teacher, said she will vote for likely Republican nominee Sen. John McCain if Sen. Clinton isn't the Democratic candidate. "Most people around here feel the same," she said. Referring to Sen. Obama, she said: "I don't trust his background."

Erwin Gregory, a 55-year-old retired coal miner from Clear Fork, said that if Sen. Clinton doesn't get the nomination, he figures he would vote for Mr. Obama, as long as there are no more concerns raised about his background. He mentioned the controversial statements made by Sen. Obama's former pastor, Jeremiah Wright.

"If they find out more about that sort of thing, then it may sway me to go the other way," Mr. Gregory said."

Dems don't get elected President unless swinging WV votes for them. Look it up.

"As goes Maine, so goes the nation." Except when it doesn't. Look it up.

Anyway, you do know that WV voted Republican in the past 2 national elections, right? Kinda makes your argument pretty worthless, doesn't it?

"That gives Obama 27 (superdelegates) in the past week."

No, the big talk, as usual, was a tsunami of SDs coming out for Obama today.

Didn't happen.

Swing and a miss!

-not many are buying her electability argument.

Yes, they won't be looking closely at the demographics in KY and WV to see how Obama does there.

Right, after all, KY and WV are accurate representations of the demographics of the rest of the country, just like NY, right Corky? I mean, everyone in North Carolina is just a hick black person.

Right?

Right?

What an asshole.

"The pros" have already determined that the wicked old witch is indeed dead. Please try and keep up, CorkPipeBeggar.

What an asshole.

I know, Hillary sucks. That's what we've been trying to tell you he whole time.

I know, I know. Half or more of all Dems like her as well as Obama, but among the 23 percenters here she sucks.

Got it.

If I ever need to know what the far left pants-pissers think, I know who to ask.

What is a far left pants-pisser and what has it to do with either Hillary or Obama?

It only sounds like something Bill O'Reilly would say.

Got it.

"No, you don't get it. Thinking you get it is not the same as actually getting it. Get it?"

-Kakashi-sensei

If I ever need to know what the far left pants-pissers think, I know who to ask.

How exactly am I "far-left?" Is it because I would actually *gasp* vote for a black person over a woman?

It only sounds like something Bill O'Reilly would say.

I'm seriously beginning to think that Quirky is a GOP operative posing as a democrat.

I was just watching CNN, and the reporter was interviewing a female Clinton supporter. Asking of her reasons, the woman said that one of the main reasons she was voting for Clinton is because she is a fellow woman and, as a child of the 60's, she feels compelled to vote for a woman because she might not get another chance.

I wonder how many votes Clinton is getting, not because she's a good or even desirable candidate, but by default simply because she has a vagina.

-How exactly am I "far-left?"

Had you the ability to grasp more than a monkey bar, you would equate your, "I know, Hillary sucks.", with the 23 percent of far left pants-pissers who would never vote for her. The majority of Dems being, unlike yourself, fairly lucid.

-I'm seriously beginning to think

There you go again, bragging.

-simply because she has a vagina.

I'm sure there are some who would vote for you simply for being a vagina.

Time to change your tampon -er- I mean - name again, McBeggtodiffer?

Analyst: Obama's likely W.Virginia loss reveals a weakness

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton's expected victory in West Virginia Tuesday won't cut much into Sen. Barack Obama's delegate lead, but it may cast doubt on Obama's support among certain Democratic voters, a CNN political analyst said.

"Clinton's strength all along has been, not just with women, but also with older, rural and blue-collar Democrats -- the kinds of voters who predominate in West Virginia," said Bill Schneider, CNN senior political analyst.

"A big Clinton win will send a powerful message that there are a lot of Democrats not yet ready to get on board with Obama," said Schneider."

"West Virginia used to be solidly Democratic, until 2000, when George W. Bush surprised everyone by winning the state. How did he do it? Social issues -- abortion, gays, and most important, guns -- in a state where more than 70 percent of the voters own a gun," Schneider said."

Speak of vaginas and who slithers up but the maple syrple Queen herself, Aunt Jomama. Got pancakes?

Had you the ability to grasp more than a monkey bar

There you go again, being racist.

When did I say I would never vote for her? I was in support of her until I saw that Obama was indeed a much stronger candidate. She started to suck when she resorted to character bashing after it was apparent that she wasn't as "inevitable" as she thought.

The majority of Dems being, unlike yourself, fairly lucid.

I'm registered independent. Thanks for playing.

I'm sure there are some who would vote for you simply for being a vagina.

You are what you eat, shit-head.

Oh, you mean like your posts?

That you are a registered twit would be believable..... little different than Larry or your Aunt Jomama.

That you would switch to Obama when he started winning, albeit mostly red states? .... sorta speaks for itself.

I don't know who I am going to vote for but I can tell you that I will not vote for a black Muslim from Kenya

Oh no! Messy Nessy called me "shit-head"!

He must have graduated to third-grade South Park material.

But I have to leave now, so it's safe for you. You can call me any of the things you learned in class today.

"Oh, you mean like your posts?"

You are seriously delusional. But that's been painfully obvious for months.

Analyst: Obama's likely W.Virginia loss reveals a weakness

What's this? Corky posting an article from the "Obama News Network"? Man, you sure do change your tune at the drop of a hat, don't you? Now, after all the times you dissed that network for its pro-Obama stance, all the sudden you use it as evidence helping your weakened candidate.

- that's been painfully obvious for months.

So has your pregnancy, Nancy, but we were trying to be kind to twenty-something failures.

HA!

Messy Nessy not bright enough to get the ObamaSoft Network as msnbc.

Go figure.

Oh no! Messy Nessy called me "shit-head"!

I see. When I throw out a name, it's childish.

When you do it, it's "intelligent discourse"

This is exactly why Hillary probably won't even be able to win a seat at a high school PTA after this: she's just as two-faced as you are.

"Go figure.

Careful. You don't want to be late for your OB-GYN appointment.

That's right, your jokes are far too clever for me.

You should make them while you still can.

There are no black muslims from Kenya running. Idiot.

"...How did Bush win in 2000? - social issues abortion, gays, and most important, guns -- in a state where more than 70 percent of the voters own a gun," Schneider said." - Corky

So, Corky, you agree that Hillary's views on abortion, gays, and most important, guns, are closer to George W Bush's views than to everything she used to say on those subjects until the last desperate weeks of her pandering campaign?

Hillary's new math

Unlike Bill and Hillary, why fuckup a fetus and ask her to campaign?

So the win for Hillary from a small state (WVA) is insignificant compared to Obama's win from a small state (NC).

Why?

Because the MSM says so!

So MSLSD calls it for Hillary at 4:30 and 2 seconds..

I can't wait for the buyer's remorse to set in on Obama when the MSM and the rest of the electorate realize he is a phoney baloney....Well--only the electorate will realize it publicly--the MSM will never admit anything..

Ness - I think that the only reason that the superdels are coming out in dribs and drabs is that Obama is being sort of gentlemanly and has coordinated with them to do it that way, 4 or 5 a day instead of them all at once. He got four on Monday, four more today, probably four to six tomorrow (to negate the delegates in WV). Personally I think his back pocket is stuffed full of superdel nods, he is just holding on to them.

Nora O'Donnell is a racist--she just referred to WVA as working class white voters as the majority of the populace..

Racist--!@!

Murphy

I wonder how many votes Clinton is getting, not because she's a good or even desirable candidate, but by default simply because she has a vagina.

Well--I wonder how many votes Obama is getting, not because he's good, experienced, has good judgment, has character, can listen to a hater for 20 years, but by default simply because he is black.

See your point Ness?

Go ahead and Trash her because she is a CLinton or on her policies--but leave her gender out of it.

Otherwise, you will see your comments traded for Obama and you'll call that person a racist.

Maybe because her opponent has an empty sack to match his suit.

She offered to him her extra cajones.

You know, the ones it would require for him to actually finish her off in this race.

POSTED BY NESS_GADOL

My thoughts exactly.

Her campaign slogan became "Hey, Obama is black".

I wouldn't be so sure McCain can win WV against Obama. McCain got 12 votes in the Republican primary. Thats right 12, finishing a very distant third to Huckabee and Romney.

Also, Republicans only cast around 1100 votes in the primary. Even if 2 in 10 Dems crossed over to vote for Mcain, Obama still has a good chance at winning WV.

"You know, the ones it would require for him to actually finish her off in this race."

Do you also believe in fairies Corkypoos? It is done, he has "actually finished her off in this race" he has superdels falling over themselves to endorse him, he is 150 away from 2035, she is 350+, your mantra of late "the superdels will decide who is more electable in the fall" is melting as we speak, as superdel after superdel endorse Obama. Your pool is getting very shallow, where the hell are you going to pull the endorsements from, your arse?

Well--I wonder how many votes Obama is getting, not because he's good, experienced, has good judgment, has character, can listen to a hater for 20 years, but by default simply because he is black.

See your point Ness?

Clearly you missed mine.

Has anyone noticed Obama's last couple months he has lost almost everything? He lost what 7 of 9?

Because he is damaged goods, and the American people will not vote for his ass.

After the wright thing, he became doomed in every single state that matters.

You democrats seriously can;t see that? I can;t believe you dont see that.

Kuma

Kuma-
It's difficult to take your insular rants seriously when you spew such visceral and typical right-wing echo chamber bullshit and yet won't even say that you will vote for the opposition candidate.

I wonder how many white Christian voters in West Virginia identify with a black muslim from Kenya.

"I wonder how many white Christian voters in West Virginia identify with a black muslim from Kenya."

Moot point, since there are no black Muslims from Kenya on the ballot.

Doc Sarvis. Last time I checked a black Muslim from Kenya was running aginst a white lesbian from Illinois

Obama wouldn't even be on the scene today if his fatal flaws were showing 6 months ago. He's an opportunist and his wife is a bitter, angry ghetto black. He's no Colin Powell and she's no Jackie Kennedy.

Oh and don't forget, if you're not for Obama, your a bigot and if you don't vote for him (according to his lovely wife) you don't love God. These two are horrible individuals and the thought of BO in the White House is simply too much to stomach.

The next thing you'll see is Hillary being offered the VP slot so she can drag is sorry ass over the finish line and she'll have to carry his water over the next four years. Sound familiar ladies?

I don't think it's a big surprise that Clinton won WV. However, I do find it interesting how many people voted for candidates other than McCain, Clinton, or Obama.

It looks like 7% of Democrats and 24% of Republicans in WV aren't terribly happy with their choices and decided to vote for someone who's no longer running. Does anyone know if this is pretty typical?

Democrats
Clinton: 238,939 67%
Obama: 91,613 26%
Edwards: 25,849 7%

Republicans
McCain: 89,661 76%
Huckabee: 12,171 10%
Paul: 5,912 5%
Romney: 5,188 4%
Giuliani: 2,831 2%
Keyes: 1,427 1%
Curry: 726 1%
