I would like to know who complained so I can analyze the quality of their work.

All major news CAN SUCK IT - I refuse to click on any pay-for site or propaganda machines such as Wired, NYTimes, New Scientist (which used to be incredible until they went pay-for) to name a few once good ones.

So, now we run the risk of being banned for just quoting? What is the limit? I'd prefer Drudge Retort to be seen as augmenting their viewership rather than detracting from it. Again, I'd really like to know who lodged such a wildly over-protectionist complaint.

I'll have you know, I am NOT freakin obnoxious. I thought posting the whole article on my blog would save people time . I know Bellsouth/AOL gets mighty damned slow some afternoons. Just thought I was being helpful.

Although....I agree...posting a whole article mid thread can be a bit tedious.

I feel that it all depends on the length of the article.

Any time the article length exceeds one post, it should be linked IMO.

Any tips or tricks that can help when summarizing articles?

1-Thank goodness! If I want to read an article, I'll click on the link. I find whole-sale posting quite annoying (although I've posted a song or two, which I guess is probably out as well...crap)

2-Whoever asked about summarizing -- most well-written news articles contain the most important information at the beginning. Of course, that's in reference to newspaper articles, and since many of the postings here are from magazines, etc., this may not always be the case.

3-RCade, or anyone else who may know -- do we have a word limit or anything on how much we can quote from an outside source? Like, up to 40 words and we're legal, but hit 41 and it's off to Gitmo??
