The number of government grants made to people who want to fit solar panels or other green energy systems to their homes has halved, the BBC has learned.

It comes after the low carbon buildings programme cut the maximum grant on offer from 7,500 to 2,500.

The Renewable Energy Association, which says the programme is failing, has accused ministers of complacency.

But the government says uptake went up considerably last month after the need for planning permission was removed.

Inflatable solar pillows are blocked from production and distribution here in the States.

We also have "scientists" exclaiming how little energy would be offset by solar collection, making the process unable to function to our benefit.

Why spend so much? You could get a little wind generator for your home and a bag of balloons. Blow up the balloon and the let the trapped air turn your generator!

Why, I'll bet that 3-4 hours of that and you could get a hot dog kind of warm!

Hmph.. I don't really understand what is keeping solar from being a major standard in home construction other than to keep citizens paying huge electric bills to out of State corporations that have no sympathy for the locals they gouge. Cost of fuel, food rise weekly and my rent has been raised twice this year already. So expect suggestions.. some good, few gooder and others goodliest.:]

You do business in China - don't they offset energy with solar tea kettles and highly efficient cars?
