With numbers like these democrats better get to illegal registration, tampering with voting machines, giving cigarettes to the homeless, voting twice, keeping polls open in black neighborhoods, scaring the elderly over social security, calling republicans racist, raising money on religious grounds, push polling, and all the other tactics for which they are so well known.

Douchetard, when Obama debates circles around McThusela I wouldn't be surprised if he gets so dizzy his fossilized brains blow out through the giant scar on his head. Harvard Law Review versus the hack who finished #894 out of 899 at the Naval Academy. I envision another "who am I, why am I here" debacle coming.

Reinfuhrer, without a teleprompter what will Obama do? look at his cheat sheet, mind melt with Reverend Wright, hand signals with his campaign manager.

If he couldn't beat tired ole I was shot at in Bosnia Hillary Clinton what makes you think he can win against old ironsides.

John McCain may be soft spoken but he is well informed and articulate. I have listened to him over the years and have been impressed with his knowledge of various issues.

Obama can't seem to even remember he was for lifting the gas tax before he was against it. He'll stick his foot in his mouth a couple of times or well trot out Reverand Wright and Tony Rezko and the rest will be history.

He will be like the fighter who got knocked out throwing a punch who says "what happened"?

Then Al Sharptongue and Jesse Jackass will say "You Got Knocked the Fuck Out".

Bee Swell

without a teleprompter what will Obama do?

He couldn't possibly be more inept at speeches than the asshole you voted for twice. Not even if he drooled.

"McThusela"

LOL

On the teleprompter business, Obama has shown he can think on his feet and memorize his lines. McCain has demonstrated a remarkable talent for going goofy. That "my friends" crap is going to start wearing thin with people. The contrast between Ol' Stewball and Seabiscuit is going to be obvious, striking, startling, and alarming.

Denzel vs the kryptkeeper

There certainly want be no blowout unless the republicans win by one. 2 or 3 other decent size states and McCain will have the victory.

You sound like the people who claimed a Democratic takeover of Congress was impossible in 2006. McCain's not a lock to win Virginia, a state that Jim Webb just won two years ago over a formidable Republican incumbent, or most of the states you listed outside the south other than Utah.

Even in the south, elections like the Democratic win of a safe Republican seat in Louisiana show which way the wind is blowing.

If it was as easy as you think for Republicans to win the presidency after eight years of Bush, the GOP wouldn't be shitting bricks right now.

I find much to quarrel with in the above list of states Obama could never win. I'd say at least WV, VA, IN, and LA are in play.

That you don't have Colorado on your little list is telling, and points teh way to the future.

I have to agree with RCADE. The Right has never come to terms with how bad Bush was, or how generally despised he now is. It's left a more sour taste that can be imagined.

People where I live wonder why Republicans felt compelled to let Bush carry on the way he did for so long. It's an unanswered question, and until it is answered Republican candidates will be having a very hard time.

He couldn't possibly be more inept at speeches than the asshole you voted for twice. Not even if he drooled.

You mean the guy who beat Al Gore and John Kerry?

"People where I live wonder why Republicans felt compelled to let Bush carry on the way he did for so long. It's an unanswered question, and until it is answered Republican candidates will be having a very hard time."

I can only answer for myself and it has to do with the candidates the Democrat Party has come up with since 1968. What choices have we conservatives had since then? Whatever happened to the democrats like Sam Nunn, Scoop Jackson, John Stennis, Mendel Rivers...? Instead we have had Al Gore, John Kerry, Dukakis, Mondale, McGovern,...and it ain't any better this time. Not that the republicans have done a lot better lately. It just boils down to which candidate turns you off the least.
If you consider that the democrats have only elected ONE president since 1976 and that one neede perot to be elected anyway. He's also the ONLY democrat to be REelected since FDR in 1940. That tells me I'm not the only American who feels this way. The democrats need to take the party back from the radical leftist-socialists running it now.

Bush didn't BEAT anybody.
The rethuglicunt noise machine(faux News-flush rimjob-yawn insanity-and such) did.

This list above is simply to point out that McCain starts out with around 200 delegates needing only around 70 more to win.

Even if he were to lose one or two of these starts he has strong chances in many others.

Florida
Ohio
New Jersey
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Oregon
New Hampshire
New Mexico
Michigan
Pennsylvania
Nevada (which probably should have been in the list above)

I also believe he has an outside chance in California due to the heavy hispanic population who truely distrust Barrack Obama.

Junkie-
If you think there's a chance in hell that McSame will be elected to complete W's third term, you seriously need to put the crack pipe down.

Betelbug,

McCain is not George Bush. You can try to tie him to Bush or morph him into Bush but it won't work. McCain is so like by democrats they tried to get him to switch parties in 2001 and be Kerry's running mate in 2004.

Now all of a sudden some of you lefties hate him. I aint buying it.

He will do well among democrats, especially independents, and since republicans have no where to go he will get their votes too.

Lets look at it this way. At the end of this democratic primary Obama is only getting 30-40% of the white vote in the democratic party. Now imagine what percentage of the white vote he will get in the general election.

If you think tying George Bush to McCain will be effective wait till we get through scaring white people with visions of Louis Farrakhan and Reverend Wright.

This won't be no walk in the park. We'll beat barrack over the head with Farrakhan so much even Farrakhan won't vote for Obama.

Bee Swell

You're on crack!-
re: McCain is not George Bush. You can try to tie him to Bush or morph him into Bush but it won't work.

Of course McCain is not Bush. Don't be a sillypoo! McCain merely supports a continuation of Bush's two key success stories:
The economy and the war.

Junkie-
BTW, thanks for cutting through the crap and being honest:

"If you think tying George Bush to McCain will be effective wait till we get through scaring white people with visions of Louis Farrakhan and Reverend Wright."

If by war you mean he supports killing terrorists then you are right. Of course Obama says he would go into Pakistan to get Bin Ladin. I wonder how that would work out?

As for the economy. It was George Bush's tax cuts that brought us out of the Clinton recession. McCain opposed those because he felt we needed spending cuts to offset them. So in many ways he is more prudent than Bush. Barrack Obama in the 2 years he has been in the senate went right along with everyone else spending and spending and spending. Barrack has never opposed earmarks which are the dirty little secret in Washington waste.

All Barrack has to offer are tax increases, more wasteful welfare programs, cuts in the military, and jobs for his close cronies in Washington.

say no to Barrack on crack!

I'm sorry, your head is too deeply implanted in your ass. My powers are inadequate here.

Carry on,

Zed, do you actually think Barrack can win WV? He's trailing Clinton there 66% to 23%.

No, I would say you are delusional.

Bee Swell

"He's trailing Clinton there...."

I don't understand your logic. Is your point that those that voted for Clinton won't vote for Obama? I suppose that's possible.

On the other hand, my understanding is that WV is hurting a bit more than most other places. Hardly a reason to pick the Republican, unless you think gas prices will drop significantly between now and November.

I keep looking at the list of states you think McCain has a chance in. You must live in a different country than I do.

Zed if he can only get 22% now from the democratic party he's not gonna suddenly get all the other 78% in the November election. The republican have won the most recent presidential elections there and I see no reason to think otherwise.

Bee Swell

"He's not going to get the other 78%...."

Is mere supposition on your part.

To explain a bit further, I've not seen much of the alleged Obama/Clinton divide in local politics. There's a real hunger to beat the Republicans, and that translates into unity.

I know Rush and others want antagonize some hypothetical divide. To do that, they're going to have to hire agents provocateur. Now, that's actually been done in the past but I'm not sure it's going to work this time.

Zed, here is the list of states I figure McCain has a good shot to win. Tell me which states you think I am wrong about.

Florida
Ohio
New Jersey
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Oregon

Electoral College: Barack Obama Leads John McCain, Hillary Clinton Behind

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A new survey of the electoral college math by LifeNews.com shows pro-abortion Democratic candidate Barack Obama would likely win the November presidential election against John McCain. However, McCain would appear to defeat Hillary Clinton if she became the Democratic nominee.

Looking at the past two presidential elections and current and recent polling data in states across the country, numerous states easily fit into a Republican or Democratic category no matter which candidate represents the Democratic Party.

Republicans begin with a 183 to 174 electoral advantage among states that will almost certainly go one way or the other. That's due to the strong support the party has in presidential contests in southern and western states.

www.lifenews.com

www.gallup.com

www.usatoday.com

-Sarge

So sarge your article is saying the republican candidate gets an easy 183 but can't come up with another 87 out of all the swing states out there.

Lets look at the list. I have placed an X beside states we won last time

Florida 25 X
Ohio 21 X
Pennsylvania 23
Michigan 18
Missouri 11 X
New Mexico 5 X
Oregon 7
Nevada 4 X
Colorado 8 X
Wisconsin 11
New Hampshire 4
Minnesota 10

This list does not include other states I think will be in play this time as well Like NJ, WA, etc.

Personally my list has McCain getting an easy 196 and then needing another 74.

I'm not sure "the states we won last time" means anything at all this year.

In fact if you look at the 2004 census and how it effected the electoral college map it goes like this.

States won by Kerry
+1 CA
-1 CT
-1 IL
-1 MI
-1 WI
-2 NY
-2 PA

Net loss of -7

States won by Bush
+2 AZ
+2 FL
+2 GA
+2 TX
+1 CO
+1 NV
+1 NC
-1 IN
-1 MS
-1 OH
-1 OK

Net gain of +7

Just from this math McCain will have an easier time if he just keeps the states Bush won.

Bee Swell

"If he just keeps the states Bush won...."

I think that gets to the nub of it---"If".

Does anyone remember the big swings in the electoral map in the months leading up to Bush/Kerry?

What the map shows now is hardly relevant.

Looking at historical precedent. ailing economy, unpopular war, unpopular president.

Then add the weak GOP candidate, and huge new voter registration and turnout. Its hard to see how McCain could pull it off.

But knowing that learning from history is something that modern GOPhers find unpatriotic, I wouldn't expect any acknowledgement of these facts from the fundies.

"McCain did not flip flop on tax cuts. He always supported tax cuts but wanted cuts in spending to match and since that was not in the original bill he voted against it. He supports keeping the tax cuts now because he intends to make those spending cuts as president."

McCain Changes Story on Tax Cut Stance

WASHINGTON -- Republican John McCain says he opposed President Bush's tax cuts because they didn't come with spending cuts. That is not what he said at the time.

In a presidential debate on Wednesday, McCain said he voted against the Bush tax cuts because he wanted to rein in spending.

"I disagreed when we had tax cuts without spending restraint," the Arizona senator said.

The explanation fits with his history of railing against wasteful federal spending. But it does not fit with McCain's comments when he opposed the Bush tax cuts in 2001 and 2003.

In 2001, McCain said the tax cuts favored the wealthy at the expense of the middle class. In 2003, he said there should be no tax cuts until the Iraq war costs were known.

His aversion to the Bush tax cuts is just another reason McCain gives heartburn to many in the conservative GOP base. Besides taxes, there is also his more forgiving attitude toward illegal immigration, his effort to limit money in politics and his long-running feuds with leaders of the Christian right.

Crackpipe,

Here Are The GOP's Fortunes:

House GOP: Can it Get Any Worse

Since losing 30 seats and their 12-year stranglehold on power in 2006, House Republicans have kept asking themselves the same question: Can it get any worse?

On Tuesday, they may get another answer they won't like.

With lots of help from Washington -- including more than $1.3 million in campaign cash and a last-minute visit by Vice President Cheney -- Mississippi Republicans are desperately trying to retain a congressional seat in one of the most reliably conservative districts in the nation.

The stakes in the 1st District special election couldn't be higher, strategically or symbolically. The loss of a traditionally GOP seat to a Democrat would be the third in a special election this spring and the second in the Deep South after the May 3 victory of Rep. Don Cazayoux (D-La.).

Rank-and-file Republicans say that would force a day of reckoning for their leadership.

Bush threatens to veto mortgage bill

By James Politi in Washington
Tuesday May 6 2008 20:55
The White House on Tuesday threatened to veto the most prominent and aggressive piece of legislation being proposed by congressional Democrats to tackle the mortgage crisis.

"The principal beneficiaries of this type of plan would be private lenders - who are now the owners of the vacant or foreclosed properties - instead of struggling homeowners who are working hard to stay in their homes," said the administration statement.

The House of Representatives is on Wednesday expected to vote on a $300bn proposal, backed by Barney Frank, the Democratic financial services committee chairman, to empower the Federal Housing Administration to refinance mortgages at lower home values.

Bee Swell

Sarge, the idea that a conservative democrat won a house seat in the south is not unusual whatsoever. Lets see Barney Frank come down south and have a snowballs chance in hell of winning. Of course not you slimy pussy.

The same goes for Obama who is a left wing radical Farakhan loving tax and spend democrat. Lets see how much of his time and money he wastes in Mississippi, Georgia, Texas, etc.

Bee Swell

Mr. Crack misses the point yet again. A conservative Democrat being elected in the South is of course possible, but the election of a liberal Republican in a Blue state is fantastical.

That the Rush Wing of the Republican Party has hunted their liberal and moderate brethren to extinction and near-extinction does not help the matter.

If Obama gets the nod he will campaign in Texas hard. This place is not nearly as Red as formerly.

Zed, it is the democratic party that has run any conservative from the national scene. There is no democrat who opposes abortion who would ever consider running for president or even the senate because he knows the party itself would not support him.

Within the republican party there are those like Rudy Giuliani who believe in abortion and still get support from the party.

I certainly hope Obama spends 50-60 million on Texas cos it is a lost cause for sure.

I wouldn't mind Obama throwing some money around in Utah and Arizona too.

Bee Swell

I think defining "conservative" solely in terms of abortion is just strange.

"Within the republican party there are those like Rudy Giuliani who believe in abortion and still get support from the party."

You really are a moron. How well did Rudy do in the Republithug primaries? Have you seen McCain's flippity-floppity on that issue? Wake up, grow up, and start thinking like an adult.

2209 is the real number if you seat Michigan and Florida.

Even with all the remaining superdelegates Obama cannot reach that number.

This won't end until the convention unless the democratic establishment steal it from Hillary but not letting the election run its course.

This is what dems have always done try to fix the results to fit what they want rather than the will of the people.

Hillary will have the most popular votes when this thing is over and be extremely close on voted delegates if you include Florida and Michigan.

Here's the numbers by my math.

2209 is the number of delegates needed to win with Michigan and Florida included.

Obama has 1842 as best I can find out. Thats 361 short of 2209.

There are 268 remaining uncommitted superdelegates as far a I can tell.

There are 207 primary delegates left for the remaining states.

Hillary is behind by 150 delegates. She should win about 125 of the remaining 207 primary delegates.

That would put Hillary at 1692+125=1817
and Obama at 1842+82=1924

I can completely understand why she is still in the race. She will probably have the lead in the popular vote. The numbers I just posted do not show Michigan and Florida delegates. With those she should be about 50-60 total delegates behind.

Bee Swell

Isn't it pathetic how many Republicans are obsessed with the Democratic nominating process. Just another reminder of what disingenuous fucktards they all are.

Right now Hillary lead Obama by the following percentages in the remaining primaries

+40%/+43% in West Virginia
+25%/+36% in Kentucky
+13% in Puerto Rico

Obama has mild leads in Oregon and South Dakota.
