Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

NEW YORK -- Videotapes to be sent to the NFL by a former New England Patriots employee will show the team violated league rules by recording coaches' signals from opposing teams between 2000 and 2002, the NFL said Thursday.

I'll bet those fucking Patriots shared the Bills' video with the rest of the league and that's why we've sucked so badly...

Don't ding the Patriots draft picks, instead ban Belichek and his assistants from the league.

What's the big deal? If you're flashing signals on the sidelines, someones going to see it, and be able to figure out what the team is going to do.

instead ban Belichek and his assistants from the league.

I can't believe more punishing measures weren't taken when this story came out last year. I would have automatically banned the team from the playoffs.

What's the big deal?

Unsportsmanlike conduct.

Damn, that sounds like Dutch.

Unspoortzmanlijk.

and the GIANTS STILL WON THE SUPER BOWL!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

G-MEN BABY!

G_MEN BABY!!

GIANTS WIN!!!!!!

I'm sorry, I don't see how this is un-sportsman like.

Any team uses what they know about the other team, to shape the way they play.

That's why the watch game films, and look at the injury reports.

Paying attention to the signals, is just using the information that is publicly available.

For those of you die hard fans of the Patriots, get over it your team cheated, just as you fucks accuse Barry Bonds of cheating, your team cheated they were given a $500,000 fine an lost a 1st draft choice, they were caught cheating. No matter how much you protest the tarnish on those Super Bowls will last forever.......

Yawn, baseball coaches never steal pitchers' or base coach signals, NASCAR teams never listen in on ohter teams' radios...

Next they'll be bitching because some team stole the other's steroid formulations.

this is grand...
billycheck knew all along that this was going to come out - you could see in his eyes the hole was deeper than what everyone was admitting to.
tis a good thing.
and it demands severe penalties.
banning billycheck sounds good and fun though it won't happen.
draft picks next year???
maybe it'll happen though i wouldn't bet on it.

the only satisfaction is knowing that pats fans can't really savor the victories the way the truly great team's fans can. see 49ers, pittsburgh.

all the best

If you aren't cheating you aren't trying. I hate the Patriots though so screw them!

Friggin' Bush, taping the signals of Arlen Spector's cherished Eagles. What a scumbag.

HALLIBURTON !!!

At this point, I don't know, I'm kind of tired of it. It was obvious from the start Roger Goodell wasn't going to do much about this. He's a close personal friend of the owner of the Patriots.

Its garbage if you think about it, that the players who have been acting poorly lately have been given hefty suspensions and lost a lot of money, but Bill Belechick and no member of his staff was suspended at all.

Their coach and Offensive Coordinator (since he would have known about it too) should suspended for at least the first two games...

Also, how great it is that ND sucks with Charlie Weiss as their head coach... Oops Notre Dame, that's what you get when you hire a guy who won by cheating.

By the way if that guy from USA Today is reading who quoted me last time, just remember, its the Drudge RETORT, not Report, and I'm Rob The Asshole... quote me damn it!!!

A_Hole rules...

Because cheating the antithesis of competitive sports.

Watching film of past games is far different from secretly taping training events.

There is a film you might want to catch - Bring It On. Honestly, I never thought that I would legitimately be able to ever recommend it, but here you go.

Besides, American football is just another faked sport - like Nascar. Full-contact martial arts is where it's at, BYOTCH.:]

Yeah, what's the big deal... I only pay over $1300 a year for my season tickets... let other teams cheat. Fuck it... let's just have them pick names from a hat in the beginning of the year and that's how we'll decide who wins the super bowl... who gives a shit right? No big deal...

This isn't baseball or auto racing. The rules are different. The rules are clear. The Patriots knew the rules and when they were fined, and they didn't pull the excuse you just did--they paid up and shut up. They knew they were cheating according to NFL rules.

Whatever penalties are delivered, in any, they are the result of the unbridled arrogance of Belichek. The Patriots could have easily taped opponents legally with little effort. Every team in the league tapes games. They get two cameras stationed above and behind the endzones. They can also use any video equipment they want in their assigned coaching booths. The taping wasn't illegal, it was the sideline, field level camera that is the issue. A camera, I might add, that was exclusively forbidden by the commissioner--in writing--the week before the Jets game. Plus, the Jets coach was a former Pats coach. He not only knew the tactic--because he once benefited from it--by knew exactly what to look for and who to point out to the league official there to monitor the game.

As the owner of the Patriots, I might not have a big problem with my coach bending the rules to win games. However, stupidity and hubris of this magnitude deserves a harsh penalty from management. Craft should think about what punishment he would deliver to a PLAYER that committed some blatant infraction that made his team lose half a mil in revenue and a draft choice; that should be what Belichek gets.

Also, when teams/players are fined by the league that money should count against the cap.

No patriots fan cares one steaming turd about Barry Bonds. I say let him keep taking all the Roids he wants. His connective tissue is already deteriorating at a quick pace. He'll be another Lyle Alzado soon.

Also, nobody here is denying that is was cheating. I just like watching you bitches get your panties in a knot saying what you think should be done to them.
Well, when you become the NFL commissioner, your opinion might matter, 'til then, suck it.

Pats still had an undefeated season. You can twist it how you need to fill that vacuum you feel, but it doesn't change the truth.

NFL: videos show exactly what we already knew and had been admitted to

Still 18-1.

Wouldn't matter Chairpussy. Your bills would still suck.

btw the GIANTS WON THE SUPER BOWL!
