The world indeed went away.

A very prolific performer.

One of my favorite songs by Eddy Arnold

"You Don't Know Me" -- Eddy Arnold lyrics (sung by another singer on youtube)

The cattle are prowlin',
The coyotes are howlin'
Way out where the doggies roam
Where spurs are a jinglin'
And the cowboy is singing
His lonesome cattle call

He rides in the sun
'Til his days work is done
And he rounds up the cattle each fall
Singing his cattle call

For hours he would ride
On the range far and wide
When the night wind blows up and slow
His heart is a feather
In all kinds of weather
He sings his cattle call

He's browned as a fairy
From ridin' the prairie
And he sings with an western drawl
Singing his cattle call

"The cattle are prowlin',
The coyotes are howlin'
Way out where the doggies roam
Where spurs are a jinglin'
And the cowboy is singing
His lonesome cattle call"

Pinche's got a tear in his eye, and a half-chub in his assless chaps.

Is pinche a brown fairy, too?

RIP

What a great performer

I loved Green Acres.

I hear Eddie Albert could really belt out a tune!

Pinche's got a tear in his eye, and a half-chub in his assless chaps.

All "chaps" (they're called leggins) are assless, dumbfuck.

And the half-chub has been taken care of.

(Heads up, your wife *wasn't* really at a "wine tasting" tonight.)

That said, "Cattle Call" is a classic, ubiquitous, and essential part of the culture in which I grew up.

We have VHS tapes of me attempting to sing it when I was 2.

I have VHS tapes of me singing it when I was a hard-living, drunken 20 year-old college student.

And we have digital video clips of me singing it to my infant son with Dad's old Martin....the same one he used when I attempted to sing it a age 2.

I wish I could create something---even something as simple as a goofy-ass little song---that would be as timeless and recognized by so many good people.
