Diamond loving fossils discovered

Scientists have discovered that they coated themselves with tiny diamonds made from carbon brought to Earth in the space rock.

Diamonds are the hardest substance known to man.
Probably used in the ocean by these fossils' as their own version of a protective
flak jacket by covering themselves with tiny diamonds made from carbon.

Were these female fossils, by the way?
That would explain a lot.

Why aren't circuits coated with this protective material? Is metallic shielding easier to fabricate with than diamonds?
