This is a false statement. There were navy ships and coast guard heliocopters in the gulf doing rescues less than 36 hours after Katrina had moved out.

FEMA did not do great job but to blame it on a lack of response by Bush is BS. He declared it a disaster area within 12 hours and ordered troops in.

Just think, if Al Gore didn't have such a huge carbon footprint, this tragedy could have been prevented.
