Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Brazilians and Indian consumers ranked the most environmentally friendly in the new "Greendex," announced Wednesday by the National Geographic Society. Americans scored 44.9 points in the survey, ranking 14th out of 14 countries.

Green? Drill for oil in my backyard if they need too!

Why is this not a surprise at all?

Typical American... Driving their diesel 4x4 1 ton truck around going to the ball game or store.

Driving the SUV with 1 person to work. Huh?

That is going to change real fast soon!

We are terrible, terrible people. My god, my life is so miserable because I pay so much attention to stories like this telling me how evil my neighbors and I are. I live a sad, miserable existence filled with self hatred and despair because the world is melting around me, and I just wanna be liked by the rest of the world.

I wonder if I can get a hard copy of that Greendex. I could use it for toilette paper if I run out. I just want to help the environmrnt.

Brazilians and Indians, leading the way.

Just wait until they get a little more money, then we'll see. But what do you expect, when the paragon of environmental protection, a Mr. Albert Gore, zips around in private jets and lives in a 20,000 square foot mansion--PART of the time?

Most Americans who claim to give a shit about the environment are too lazy to change their own lifestyle and start making a difference.

Who the hell are they kidding?

The US cleans their own messes.

The Ganges river, for example is literally a
cesspool of filth; bodies are regularly dumped
there and cremated there. I don't mean a few - I'm
talking THOUSANDS EVERY DAY.

Putting grandma on a raft, setting her on fire and
floating her down the Ganges is commonplace.

Brazi and India BOTH are LAST in terms of clean water
and sewage disposal. And talk about squaller
and filth - they lead the league in poverty and
disease.

Oh yeah - toilet paper is 'arrogant' and wiping
your ass with your hand is 'green'.

Get the f*ck outta here!

Dean:
Don't you know? Americas are Der Juden.
Everything is our fault.

Most important word in this sentence begins with a "c", and rhymes with "lame".

The enviros in this country really don't give a damn about the environment at all. They won't turn off their air conditioner; they'll just insist that power plants be built far away from plain view, and further mar the landscape with the snarl of power lines and substations. They won't live in a more modest home; they'll just write letters bemoaning urban sprawl, and demand their legislators "do something about the damn traffic"; i.e, more roads. They won't give up their car in favor of public transportation; they'll just demand that millions of people starve in the third world so they can feel better about themselves by sending a bushel and a half of corn up their tailpipes with each fillup.

Air and water in this country is cleaner than they have been in 60 years. If you want to find real pollution, travel to Mexico, or go to large cities overseas such as Manila. You'll probably see it at the Olympics this summer in Beijing.

I chose my words carefully. Glad you picked up on it, rightisright. I wonder how many of the people on the retort who claim to care about the environment even use recycled paper towels.

I'd like to do a comparison of environmental quality factors twixt Brazil, India, and the United States.

Whose populations have sanctioned the most stringent air and water quality regs and remediation standards?

That's what's "green"---because it's real.

Not this stupid, pop-culture, self-loathing "social consciouness" bullshit.

The home-grown mentality that lamely attempts to isolate and demonize the United States with this kind of un-contextualized horseshit needs to be lined up against a stone wall and shot.

Our media are cleaner than those of Brazil or India.

We consume more than they do, but we also produce more than they do.

And since the production of goods tend to result in pollution of media---what the fuck is Brazil and India's excuse?

Maybe the squirming little cocksuckers at "National Geographic" can chew on that for a while---instead of being lobbyists for some shit ideology that continues to insist affluence and wealth is the world's greatest evil.

I get so fucking sick of this shit.

I didn't even know they recycled paper towels. How do they do that, anyway?

so did they not even think about looking at china? isnt it a raging pot of polution?

but of course that wouldnt matter anyway because it would take away from just another bash america story....

we just dont deserve to live......

Recycled paper towels are made from reclaimed paperstock. When paper that has lost it's strength they recycle it into things that do not require the durability such as notebook paper the backs and fronts of wallboard(Sheetrock) Cardboard etc etc. They make papertowels and toilet paper out of it. Hence the name Recycled Papertowels.

Larry Mohr

so did they not even think about looking at china?

Yeah they did.

China did great.

I'll bet Haiti would have kicked ass, too.

Those are some damn good "green" consumers.

Virtual Luddites, you know.

How all that "social consciousness" in their consumer habits coexists with such atrocious levels of poverty should be an inspiration to all the world.

Dean Buvia Wiping ones rump with toilet paper may be arrogant but wiping ones rump with Your hand is fucking disgusting and NOT green. Wiping ones rump with leaves now THAT is green.

Larry Mohr

Do none of you leftist Commie scum understand what MANIFEST DESTINY means? Huh? DO YOU!???!!?!?!

Boy, how about the eskimos, I bet heating that igloo keeps their house economics liquid.

Those small card board boxes in india and such type nation all have tv's, air conditioners, and a great driveway for their flip flops.

Sttop the fucking presses!

I don't guess that the clearing of thousands of square miles of Brazilian rainforests and the loss of endangered species habitat is factored into the "Greendex" equasion.

You mean like Zatoichi who incessantly copies/pastes his ancient data from long-dead men about how we're killing the planet...

...then says:

"I already have 150,000 miles on the truck and I have land in the sticks; It's useful. I prefer to use the Porsche to commute when the weather's nice.

I owned and flew a pressurized twin-engine airplane for hundreds of hours; Trained at FlightSafety.

Don't talk to me about fuel costs.

Talk to me about rate-of-return-on-investment.

Her name is RONA."

You mean those kinds of hypocrites, right?

GLOBAL WARMING:
Mother Nature Cools the Greenhouse, but Hotter Times Still Lie Ahead
Richard A. Kerr

As climate-change skeptics like to point out, worldwide temperatures haven't risen much in the past decade. If global warming is such hot stuff, they ask, why hasn't it soared beyond the El Nio-driven global warmth of 1998? Mainstream climate researchers reply that greenhouse warming isn't the only factor at work. And in a new paper, they put some numbers on that rebuttal. They show that regional and even global temperatures are being held down by a natural jostling of the climate system, driven in large part by vacillating ocean currents. The study "shows how natural climate variability can mask the global warming effect of greenhouse gases," says climate researcher Adam Scaife of the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research in Exeter, U.K., "but only for a few years.""

The article in question:
"It was plenty cold in Europe last week (see p. 10), but gaffers who claim that winters were harder when they were boys are quite right--except that the change is too small to be detected except by instruments and statistics in the hands of professional meteorologists. Weather men have no doubt that the world at least for the time being is growing warmer."

That's not far from the mark. I ask most of my liberal friends if they take their recycling (accumulated during the day) home with them because commercial buildings in NYC don't recycle. They look at me like I'm an idiot.

I do.

I do."

There once was a washable paper towel.
Didn't last.

I remember that.

What a piece of garbage that was (pun intended).

We set up recyling at work. Once a week I (we) take the bag home and put it out for the recycling truck. It is such a burden. Probably adds an extra 45 seconds to my week.

I also have 3 vehicles. 2 Honda Accords for the commute and 1 Nissan Frontier 250,000+ for Landscaping and hauling.

If I wasn't taking public transportation to work, I would do the same thing. Right now I only take home my own recycling.

Good one ANDY...
That sort of reminds me of Jeff Foxworthy. You might be a real self loathing-left wing- liberal-enviro wacko if ...kinda thing.

Can you say Envirofascist brainwashing?

Have you people ever seen how dirty most foreign countries are? I will admit that many other countries do a better job of recycling. In many countries they use there trash to build their homes with and they fertilize their lawns with their special home made fertilizer. Go Green

You also flew airplanes, which more than cancels out any fuel-efficient driving you might have done.

Better check the gas mileage of a Cessna 172.

And it doesn't need a road.

What series? It does make a difference - fuel capacity, range, rated max cruise, rated altitude, power rating, etc.

Not a road, but y'a do need a runway some sort, more than likely an airport, and hopefully a hangar.

"What series?"

I had an N with a 180 horse STC.

Did about 17 MPG.

Try that at 120 knots in a car with no road.

As for runway, a grass field 1000 feet long works fine.

Then of course there are sailboats.

And, the enviros are the very same people who demand I flush with a small flusher urinal or crapper while they use the larger flusher type. (I ALWAYS flush three or four times regardless just to make a statement to those who think putting these low usage flushers are really accomplishing anything. They LOSE!!!)

These enviros are the same people rightside is talking about. They want me to do their bidding while they continue to bleed the rest of us and demand we do what they determine the best for society.

Screw them. I use the incandescent light bulbs, I use regular flush urinals and crappers and if I happen to use a low flush one I always flush 4 or 5 times. I try to do those things to piss these people off. And I do it because they are so damned stupid they have no clue.

Am proud to be one of those consumers who is less environmental. And, oh yes, I throw plastic in the trash and do not recycle anything. And, my guess is most red neckers are the same way.
