GOP Congressman Arrested for DUI

A Republican congressman from New York City apologized to his family and constituents Friday for his drunken driving arrest after a night on the town with New Yorkers who were in Washington for the Giants' White House celebration.

It's really sickening how people like this don't take drunk driving seriously.

In my neck of the woods, a habitual drunkard who has been busted 8 times for drunk driving (with only a slap on the wrist) killed four people recently, including a dad and his two kids. This guy has also been in trouble with the law over 30 times.

It's all terribly disgusting...

I'm fucking sick of people making light of DUIs. My friends do it. Family's probably done it, too. Town cop's been busted for DUI, even. Doesn't make it any less despicable. We need more public humiliation for people who get busted for DUI. Australian cops make the DUIer (I'm not sure if it's immediately following the arrest or at a later time) walk down the street with his hands cuffed behind his arse while they implore everyone to "point and ridicule the idiot".

We could adopt something similar, or do like El Salvador and shoot the DUIers.

My ex lost her right leg to a drunk cop; On duty; In his patrol car. She almost bled to death. A nearby pub owner (This was in Oz) who happened to be a med school dropout saved her life. Fact.

The main reason I quit drinking. It got way out of hand. I should have had a ton of DUI's but I never got a single one. Don't know how though.
