Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

SOUTH BEND -- The Hillary Clinton campaign is dealing with a quickly exploding controversy: a YouTube video that shows Mickey Kantor, a high-level Clinton campaign advisor, allegedly making degrading remarks about people from Indiana during Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign. ABC News claims the video is doctored and he said nothing of the kind.

So what is the verdict on this, is this true, or is it doctored up as some claim?

If it is true, I would imagine many Indiana voters will be, well, quite bitter, lol!

Corky has been neating that dog.

ah..hem

beating that dog!

Neat!

I posted a bit from a Huffington Post column on another thread, in which part of the story was debuned. However:

The cropped video, which spread through the Internet like wildfire on Friday morning, shows Kantor with fellow former Bill Clinton staffers James Carville and George Stephanopoulos discussing results from the general election. In the footage, Kantor approaches the two aides and says, "Look at Indiana -- wait, wait, look at Indiana. 42-40. It doesn't matter if we win, those people are shit." That much seems true. . .

Use the link above to see it, It's not doctored.

It could be any of a dozen things. My benefit of the doubt comes in the fact that the movie was made by a pretty pro-Clinton documentarian. If they had said something so patently offensive, Pennebaker would have cut the scene out of deference to Evan Bayh and other Indiana Dems.

The problem is that Kantor's first response this morning was that "those people" meant the polling firm, and that they were unreliable.

The official Clinton line an hour or two later was that is was something like "those people" were the GHWB White House politicos, and they would be shit..ting themselves on the possibility of losing Indiana due to Perot.

Not that it's improbable that Kantor really didn't really remember some offhand comment 16 years ago and came up with the first plausible statement. But, the stories did contradict themselves.

Bunch of bitter white hicks.

The film clip is doctored. The actual line is, "Those people are shitting." Like in "really upset." People who get their news from Fox and Drudge are morons.

This has to be the work of Obama campaign people .It looks like he is losing a lot of ground to HRC .They need to try to hurt her .

"McCarthyism" - following defnition an example is given: "This has to be the work of Obama campaign people"

"Is there a doctor in the vicinity? My campaign is dying!" - Hillary Clinton

Mickey Kantor's whisper suggests that he's saying something completely inappropriate to his buds James Carville and George Snuffleupagus. But I have trouble believing he'd be so stupid as to call the people of Indiana "shit" and "worthless white niggers" on film. The N bomb is -- and ought to be -- a career-ender in Democratic politics.
