GO PISTONS!

Last night's game was just great! They played consistenly and with energy througout the whole game. and inspite of the Sixers trying many many times to come back, the Pistons put them away.

What the Pistons have in experience I sometimes think they lack in passion in energy. I hope some of that rubbed off from the Sixers, who would not quit playing hard even till the bitter end. I think the Sixers will be a force to be reckoned with next year.

BTW, Go Hawks! The South Will Rise Agains! YEAHHHH!!!

My spam list has nearly a thousand names - 20 solid Ks, including nine as "NAYS," mostly folks whose rants I've answered point by point at one time or had minimal dialogue with. They've contributed:

-- Ronald Regan (sic) toppled the Soviet Union. (I thought it imploded under its own weight).

-- Dubya brought Demos and Repubs together as governor of Texas.

-- Our war kept Saddam from marching past the White House with his weapons of mass destruction.

-- A mass rape of women (Katrina refugees) in New Orleans' Superdome was ignored by the Mainstream Liberal-Controlled Media largely missed that one.

-- Dubya's declining numbers "come from liberal sources who only poll in cities that hate Bush."

The Nays are alive and well. My May Day greetings, posted yesterday and sent to relatives and Nays, brought this gem of GOP love, logic and lucidity:

Cheney did business with Iran through Halliburton subsidiaries in France and the caymen Islands.

While he headed the Houston-based oil services and construction company, Cheney strongly criticized sanctions against countries like Iran and Libya. President Clinton cut off all U.S. trade with Iran in 1995 because of Tehran's support for terrorism.

Cheney argued then that sanctions did not work and punished American companies. The former defense secretary complained in a 1998 speech that U.S. companies were "cut out of the action" in Iran because of the sanctions.

At an energy industry conference in 1996, Cheney said sanctions were the greatest threat to Halliburton and other American oil-related companies trying to expand overseas.

"We seem to be sanction-happy as a government," Cheney said. "The problem is that the good Lord didn't see fit to always put oil and gas resources where there are democratic governments."

A pair of 3.06 gig Xeons can run Vista under VMware and do 3d CAD with 50 MB files under Linux and still nap 60% of the time.

I've had this puppy for half a decade. Same for the G5 I have at my office at the University.

At work is a dual PPC Mac G5 with 16G of RAM and the same OS.

I own all the computers, software, and my CAD work independently of the University. Even the DAQ computer is my property.

One of my students commented that Mac had "recreated" Vista with Leopard.

Linux with the obligatory Windoze ops under a virtual machine works quite well with IBM/Moto or Intel or AMD 64 bit multi-core, multi-proc hardware.

The AMD machine is the University's.
