TUNIS, Tunisia, April 27 (UPI) -- A Tunisian family alleges their daughter was raped during a telephone conversation with a man, a lawyer for the family said.

The 30-year-old man said he never touched the young woman. But he acknowledged he heard her scream while they were "totally into" an erotic telephone conversation -- and that she reported bleeding, Al Arabiya reported.

Maha al-Metebaa, a lawyer representing the family, told the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabs the case needs careful investigation because of its unprecedented allegations. He said a medical examination had determined that the woman, 20, was no longer a virgin.

"The intercourse did take place with all its details but verbally only," he said. "The sexual act did not really happen because the physical proximity factor is not there, yet it happened because there is a direct physical impact the loss of virginity."

If he denies any plans for a NAU then the guy's a phony. Bush was just down in New Orleans last week for a meeting about the NAU with the leaders of Mexico and Canada. Sure would like the Teamster guy's take on that one.

I've never been to Texas but I don't know why everyone keeps putting it down. Seems to have plenty of decent people living there who have a lot of pride in their state.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. - An inmate awaiting trial on a murder charge is suing the county, complaining he has lost more than 100 pounds because of the jailhouse menu.

Broderick Lloyd Laswell says he isn't happy that he's down to 308 pounds after eight months in the Benton County jail. He has filed a federal lawsuit complaining the jail doesn't provide inmates with enough food.

According to the suit, Laswell weighed 413 pounds when he was jailed in September. Police say he and a co-defendant fatally beat and stabbed a man, then set his home on fire.

"On several occasions I have started to do some exercising and my vision went blurry and I felt like I was going to pass out," Laswell wrote in his complaint. "About an hour after each meal my stomach starts to hurt and growl. I feel hungry again.But Laswell then goes on to complain that he undertakes little vigorous activity.

"If we are in a small pod all day (and) do next to nothing for physical exercise, we should not lose weight," the suit says. "The only reason we lost weight in here is because we are literally being starved to death."

The suit also asks that the county be ordered to serve hot meals. The jail has served only cold food for years.

The meals, provided through Aramark Correctional Institution Services, average 3,000 calories a day, jail Capt. Hunter Petray told The Morning News of northwest Arkansas for a story Saturday.

A typical Western diet consists of 2,000 to 3,000 calories a day.

The Pistons beat the 7ters today and now tie the First Round NBA Playoff Series at 2 games a piece. Even though they won, the played lousy in the first half and I am not too thrilled at how they are playing overall. They are not making a convincing case that they should be the Eastern Conference Champs, much less the NBA Champs. If the Pistons manage to win this series and the next they will more than likely play Boston for the Eastern Conference Championship. I was a critic until this past year.

I was also a John Navarre critic until mid-way through his senior year AND I was a Tom Brady critic until mid-way through his senior year.


I was always a Drew Henson fan and felt he made a tragic mistake by choosing baseball over football. Drew was a great QB during his injury-laden Junior year and I believe that if he had embraced football he could have become a successful pro QB.

I think Chad went to the right team. Parcells should be a good mentor for him as far as attitude and personality go.

Flynn gets almost no credit for the job he did at LSU... in the Championship game he threw for 4 touchdowns and was the MVP. I could see him being one of the steals of the draft...

As far as my Eagles go, the draft was nothing. Desean Jackson better bring something to the team, and I sincerely hope we're trying hard to trade for Chad Johnson, Anquaon Boldin or Williams from the Lions. I will also be sneezing into a jar and mailing it to the Carolina Panthers every week from now until the end of the season... because if its not a top 10 pick then this draft was a complete failure. If they held onto that 19 pick they still could have gotten the receiver and DT they wanted along with Aqib Talib for their secondary. So getting Carolina's #1 pick better be worth it...
