Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

PHILADELPHIA -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton says she has something in common with legendary film boxer Rocky Balboa -- she's not a quitter. Recalling a famous scene on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art from the 1976 Oscar-winning film "Rocky," Clinton said that ending her presidential campaign now would be as if "Rocky Balboa had gotten halfway up those art museum steps and said, 'Well, I guess that's about far enough.'"

Sorry - my bad. I just assumed she meant completely overrated, too much pancake makeup, and no longer relevant.

Hellary ain't rocky but the bags under Her eyes could hold quite a few rocks.

Larry Mohr

Helldawg is like Rocky? from the original 1976 film?

Guess that means Obama is Apollo Creed.

Does Helldawg realise that Apollo Creed won in a bloody split decision at the end of that first film?

Prolly not. She prolly remembers Rocky as winning the fight heroically despite being fired at by
Bosnian snipers

I'd love to see Hillary waddle up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

She looks more like Butkus, Rocky's dog...

Should be good at climbing since she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary.

"I'm Rocky, I'm Rocky!"

Doctors have the tools available to scrape that thang.

rocky lost
in his first match against apollo
and he lost in part 5 all his money
and he lost in part 6 again

"Under sniper fire?"

Too tame. I'd opt for a gauntlet of androids lobbing nuclear grenades at her.

"...since she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary."

One FF for Wisgod and another for SA, please.

I have to say

FF for Hillary, too

As she moves into the realm of serious unreality

"Obama refused on Saturday to go along with other Democrats who are calling for Clinton to drop out of the race.

"My attitude is Senator Clinton can run as long as she wants," he said."

Funny that the only "Democrats who are calling for Clinton to drop out" are Obama supporters.

Almost as funny that Obama has them tell her to get out while he pretends not to care.

Of course, that's politics as usual. But then, if he weren't afraid she might win, he wouldn't be trying so hard to get her out of the race.

Obama fighting FL and MI's right to have their votes counted will go a long way towards assuring her the popular vote and the Presidency when those votes are finally counted.

FL and MI's right to have their votes counted

----

So now rights are being infringed on? How dramatic for a primary. I thought a political party can choose their candidates as they see it.

"Seaton Begg" I am a Florida voter and I know and knew that my vote would not count, because the Democratic Party said so. More fool them, but there is no way other than another vote that would change that.

You have to think of some more original ways of thinking Hillary's chances of winning the nomination are more than virtually zero.

OK Drudgies, I'm callin bullshit on all the 'Hillary isn't pretty enough for ya' posters here.

Plenty to comment on without fellow yellow dogs going the rightwingsexist route.

Lets remember that if you cant say anything of substance, let Wisgod and 101 be the ones to display their shallow ideology.

And I aint no Hillary fan, just callin it like I see it..

Funny Obama playing by the rules is ridiculed but Clinton throwing out the rules cause She is sinking faster than a 1 Ton Man in quicksand is AOKAY. Funny Dat Be.

The Chairborne Flu strikes again. I've gotten in to your head something fierce gramps.

Funny that the only "Democrats who are calling for Clinton to drop out" are Obama supporters

Funny that the people calling for Hillary to stay in the race are Rethuglycoontz like Rush and Ann Coulter.

Is Seaton Beggs really Ann Coulter in disguise?!

The horror, the horror!

"More fool them, but there is no way other than another vote that would change that."

Somebody needs a personal translator.

Perhaps when Fl and MI are counted giving Hillary has the lead in the popular vote, and no one has the required pledged delegates to win, the possibilities will dawn on you.

Dead Potatoes is Irish....

www.ajokes.com

Yes, we should definitely count the vote as is in MI because everyone knew that it wouldn't count.

What what what?

OK Drudgies, I'm callin bullshit on all the 'Hillary isn't pretty enough for ya' posters here.

Coupla things, OWS.

First, that "Ugly" Hillary picture is kind of a media inside joke. It first appeared on the Drudge RePort and many people suspect it was photo-shopped.

Second, agreed that the Presidency aint and shouldn't be a beauty contest.

Finally, the idea that Hillary's age may not be a plus for her in this campaign is not "off the table". It is a very real point. Spud's not saying that Hillary is like John McCain in that she's too enfeebled by age, both mentally and physically, to be up for the challenge of those 3 AM phone calls and such merely that this campaign is about a paradigm shift, a zeitgeist change, it's about a much wanted, much needed change from "Big Business as Usual" and Obama exemplifies that real change much more authentically than Hillary.

Spud's not talking race or gender here, just the fact that another Clinton in the WH smacks of political dynasties and the status quo.

Do not want.

Meanwhile, the new, fresh-thinking, rationally optimistic, policy wonk candidate ie. Barack Obama more clearly represents what these times call for.

Does any of that make sense to you?

Be Well.

"Funny that the only "Democrats who are calling for Clinton to drop out" are Obama supporters."

But, but Cor... uh, "Seaton" -

"Clinton backer: Obama will win

(CNN) -- A key Hillary Clinton supporter appeared to be a bit off message during a recent interview with a Canadian radio station.

'If I had to make a prediction right now, I'd say Barack Obama is going to be the next president," Missouri Rep. Emanuel Cleaver said in a Canadian public radio interview this weekend. 'I will be stunned if he's not the next president of the United States.'...

...He also pushed back on the notion Clinton should take her fight for the party's nomination all the way to the August convention -- though he acknowledged that is not the position he is supposed to take.

'If I do the party line, I'm supposed to say -- and maybe I'll say, just so if anybody hears it they can say well, 'Cleaver did the party line before he told the truth' -- we believe that a contest going all the way to the convention is good for America.'

But, he added, an actual convention fight would be a 'tragedy of tragedies.'"

I'd pay the pay-per-view to see a 10 round cage match with Hill and Barama. Only it would have to be MMA rules. And no tapouts.

Tater,
I'm on board with Barak. Same reasons as you stated.
Doesnt make me wanna ridicule her baggy eyes and ankles.
Last thing the Country needs is another Clinton or Bush.
Just wanna keep our dignity as we enter the post stupid era

Sure she's "Rocky" - thirty years behind the times as opposed to the usual fifteen.

And maybe she is taking steroids, like Stallone, too.

Ah, The San Antonio Rogue, alias the Masked Buckaroo, manages to find a black politician pressured into saying nice things about Obama.

Real tough call that, what?

Doesn't Rocky Loose In The Last Movie?

-Sarge

manages to find a black politician pressured into saying nice things about Obama.

a) What difference does his ethnicity makes (I saw no reference in the part that SA cut and pasted); and,

b) Where do you see he was pressured into giving that statement?

make not "makes".

"Real tough call that, what?"

Its just adorable when Corky, lacking any valid point whatever, attempts to sound British.

"... So I have a proposal. Today, I am challenging Senator Obama to a bowl-off. A bowling night, right here in Penn. Winner take all. I'll even spot him two frames. It's time for his campaign to get out of the gutter and allow all of the pins to be counted. .. ..." - Hillary Clinton

The point was that it is not difficult to find black politicians being pressured to vote Obamaic.
Making your use of such an incident as an example of only God knows what, decidedly inane.

"Making your use of such an incident as an example of only God knows what, decidedly inane."

I think we are all pretty much aware that the inanity is in your assumption, with no evidence, that this gentleman was "pressured" into saying what he said.

Tip: coat your hands with something sticky to make straw-grasping effortless.

Let us assume for a moment that The Masked Buckeroo has been on Mars these last months and is unaware of the fact that many Clinton supporters who are black have been pressured to back the Barawkstar.... noooo, odds are he would know that even then..... so we are left with the conclusion that his protests are born of a weak position and that the grasping of straws he alludes to is an expertise which he has developed over the years.

FF for Corky!

pressured into saying nice things about Obama

You said he was pressured into saying nice things about Obama - I don't see that anywhere.

Whether or not he has been pressured into backing Obama as a Super is another issue.

Moreover, I thought SDs were free to make up their own minds and change them whenever they please?

Oh no my dear Taxy,

Only if one is an Obama supporter may one vote against the will of his constituents; see: Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, and Bill Richardson for examples. If one is a Clinton supporter, only then must one vote with their constituency.

Or so goes the Obamyth.

Only if one is an Obama supporter may one vote against the will of his constituents

Kind of like Hillary and her disenfranchising theory on pledged delegates, eh?

No again. That is no theory, pledged delegates are, under the rules, free to vote as they like.

The only disenfranchising going on is Obama stopping MI and FL voters from re-voting as is allowable under the rules.

"The only disenfranchising going on is Obama stopping MI and FL voters from re-voting as is allowable under the rules."

Under what rules?

Please provide a link to the "rules" where it states this so everyone here can be enlightened.

Hans

Now Obama is "stopping MI and FL voters from re-voting"

Wow he is powerful.

Right. So Hillary poaching pledged delegates isn't disenfranchising those voters whom they represent - how convenient.

Once again, MI and FL broke the rules, Hillary acknowledged the MI delegates would not be seated but changed her mind when it become necessary. As for Florida, Dean meets with them today and the result is going to be a method similar to that of the republicans. No disenfranchising there.

A MI revote funded by Hillary supporters is patently unfair (this is one reason why MI reps and senators decided not to back the re-vote); moreover, to change the game after to ground rules have already been laid down just because it is the only way for her to even get close to winning (she really doesn't have a chance anymore) is one-sided.

Google shall enlighten ye all!

Re-votes are allowable under DNC rules, and were agreed upon in MI until Obama told his supporters in the legislature there not to support the vote.

Do try and keep up.

(she really doesn't have a chance anymore)

is unmitigated bullshit.

After the next 10 votes, plus the two in MI and Fl, she will have taken the popular vote lead. Obama will be sitting there with his hands full of delegates, worthless unless they reach the Magic Number.

Then the SD's will fulfil their responsibility to elect the candidate best suited to beat John McCain in an Electoral College contest.

Which will, of course, be the candidate who won the popular vote, carried the big battleground states, and retained the Dem base of blue-collar voters.

So there.

"Google shall enlighten ye all!"

Translation: There is no such "rule."

Hans

C'mon Hansy.

You aren't as dumb as you post. Anyone who has followed this knows that the DNC has said that re-votes are allowable under their rules.

Reality sucks, hum?

"Reality sucks, hum?"

Not as much as a lack of a valid link to such a "rule."

Hans

After the next 10 votes, plus the two in MI and Fl, she will have taken the popular vote lead.

Wishful thinking.

Oh, we're going to be "popping some corks" in about a month or so. Maybe June. But dorks -er- I mean corks will be poppin'

"Oh, we're going to be "popping some corks" in about a month or so. Maybe June. But dorks -er- I mean corks will be poppin'"

LOL!

Hans

I don't plan on throwing anything back in the face of Clinton supporters. She has run a good campaign and has shown her resiliance throughout.

I in now way hold any animosity towards Clinton supporters and would happily offer them a glass of cold refreshing Obamaide when all of this is said and done.

For those Clinton supporters that would rather take their ball and go home than vote for Obama I would warn you that it will be the beginning of the end of the Democratic Party. If you want to see republican controll of all three branches of control then please go ahead and let your anger make your vote for you.

Wow I hate it when I pick up on a post after I have already typed half of it:

If you want to see republicans controlling all three branches of govenrment, then please go ahead and let your anger make your vote for you.

Top 10 Myths Keeping Hillary in the Race

Here are ten enduring, kudzu-like myths, with the debunking they sorely need.

(Click The Link To Read All 10)

Myth: This race is tied.

No, actually, it's not. Obama has the lead in number of states won, in pledged delegates and in overall delegates. Nothing will happen in the remaining primaries to substantially change that. As to the one thing Hillary does lead in, superdelegates, her quickly shrinking margin is among DNC personnel only. When you look at the elected superdelegates, Congressman, Senators and Governors (i.e. people who actually work with both Obama and Clinton) Obama leads there, too.

www.huffingtonpost.com

There Is No Way In Hell She Can Take The Lead !!

Clinton Has The Highest Negatives Than Any One Running !!

Hell Her Negatives Are Higher Than Her Positives !!

She Is Behind In The National Polls The Pledged Delegates,Overall Delegates, And The Popular Vote!!

Obama Just Closed Within 5 % Points Of Her In Pennsylvania When He Was Down By 20 Last Month !

Obama Has Brought In Millions Of New Voters, More Money Than Any Candidate In American History !

She meant to say she's Apollo Creed

I knew Hillary was a horse, but an Italian stallion?

Neigh.

Did Hillary even see Rocky? Does she realize Rocky lost that 1st fight?

Her handlers are working overtime trying to getaway from her "sniper fire" lie in Bosnia.

So now she is the
Great White Hope?

Messiah, talk some sense into Peach fuzz for me.

Messiah, talk some sense into Peach fuzz for me.

So you think Hillary "Who my momma says named me after the explorer, Edmond Hillary, who by the way reached the peak of Mt.Everest 7 years AFTER my birth." Clinton is the Great White shark, errr, Hope?

Couldn't care less, I don't read the headlines in here prior to posting my thoughts....I make my own conversation.

I don't think Hillary should stop. She should finish all the remaining eligible states and see how many pledged and superdelegates she accumulates. Howard Dean made it clear today that the DNC will not bend its rules for either of the candidates. Maybe this will help bring you back to earth Hillary. Howard is the DNC cop and made it clear today he will enforce all the rules. No special Clinton stuff got it!!!!

PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS HILLARY LYING STORY

Well, this is interesting. It seems Hillary Clinton was fired from her Watergate work because she was a liar. If this is true, it really says a lot about the state of our media that this hasn't seen the light of say until now. Watergate-Era Judiciary Chief of Staff: Hillary Clinton Fired For Lies, Unethical Behavior By Dan Calabrese As Hillary Clinton came under increasing scrutiny for her story about facing sniper fire in Bosnia, one question that arose was whether she has engaged in a pattern of lying. The now-retired general counsel and chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee, who supervised Hillary when she worked on the Watergate investigation, says Hillary's history of lies and unethical behavior goes back farther and goes much deeper than anyone realizes. Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy's chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman's 17-year career. Why? "Because she was a liar," Zeifman said in an interview last week. "She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality."

She has every right to run, as does Nader.

Lying hasn't stopped Bush, yet. Then again Democrats and Republicans are held to different standards.

Hillary has long supported NAFTA, outsourcing and uncontrolled immigration. To bring this contest to an immediate halt just play her speeches to Indian Billionaires. It will become clear to everyone whose side she's really on.

the only thing she has in common with rocky is her mustache

Agreed that making fun of Hillary's appearance is a "below the belt" kinda hit that should be discouraged.

Spud is guilty of that one from time to time and I'm not particularily proud of meself fer stooping to such levels.

That sed, this is blog-world where the debate ranges effortlessly from the sublime to teh ridiculous within any given thread.

Not an excuse merely an explanation.

"The Republicans aren't going to give up without a fight," Clinton said. "And no matter how beautiful your rhetoric, the Republicans aren't going to turn off their attack machine - it doesn't have an off-switch."
---------------
Funny, the only attack-machine I'm seeing is Hillary's. McCain's towing the "We need to remember that we are all on the same team, democrats and republicans need to work together" line.

His actions and history back it up.

If there's one thing I've learned in 40 years, it's that if you go out looking for a fight, you will always find one, and she's constantly looking for a fight.

Her accusing other politicians of having a "attack-machine" is a little like Bill Gates accusing someone else of fostering a monopoly.

She's a ruthless political climber that will say anything to get the top job. She also loves to pick a fight. These are not qualities that make a good president. This attack machine comment had me in stitches...
