There are actually a couple of South Park episodes that show Mohammed. The one they did after the Danish cartoon controversy broke out had a character from another show talking with Mohammed so that in the words of Matt and Trey the shows creators they wouldn't get blown up. The pussy-assed Cartoon Network refused to show the scene with Mohammed in it on it's first run and it was the first instance of the show being deliberately censored by the network.

The networks apparently forgot about an earlier episode where Mohammed actually appeared in a group of "Superfriends"-like action heros including Big Mo and Buddha and Jesus and some other God guy.

When that one aired nbody cared.

Social Darwinism, they made sense when they were created. Many things you do in the name of hygiene, have there basis in religious discipline, and the passing of that knowledge/traditions. Eating kosher for instance, and the care taken regarding the animal pain, is hardly useless in a civil society. Also the idea that killing any animal that won't survive the year, cannot be considered kosher meat, makes sense to me.

Does it really matter what most here think?

No one here (I don't really think) will in their lifetime think of blowing themselves up in a crowded place or committing any sort of violence in the name of anything, however on some of the sites I'm thinking of, they are very much discussing issues like Jihad - and I'm sure you know the sort of web site I'm talking about.

There are voices at these sites that are bordering on extremism or at least entertaining the idea and there are those who presume to teach those "searching" things they should do in all sorts of situations. Not all their suggestions are moderate and I always wonder why I don't see any moderate voices at these places although I'm quite sure that they are there - only they seem to be quiet and no one dares challenge the stronger voices.

Those places would do well to hear the opinions of either of you two.

Of course to do that I realize takes a bit of courage.

People here on DR may say a few offensive things, but no one is going to act on these things anytime soon ... know what I mean?
