Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Barack Obama has surged past Hillary Clinton to open a big national lead in the Democratic presidential race, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday. The poll showed Obama with a 14-point edge over Clinton, 52 percent to 38 percent, after being in a statistical tie with the New York senator last month.

I will be very interested to see which direction this primary takes now... will Clinton try to stay positive and on message or will she start really attacking him.

I will be shocked if she goes down without a fight... this is her only shot at the white house.

Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

------Corky

CALL OUT THE JUDGE AND WARM UP THE LAWYERS.......
cause those delegates in michigan and florida are about to be thrown into play...or at least the clinton machine will go after them........

thats assuming of course the superduper, elitists, fu fu eating, pointy headed super delegates dont have the final say...........
you know who the super delegates are dont you? only the compassionate everyman democrats have a system where upper crust, elitist, RICH people can divert the will of the voter in thier primaries.

will Clinton try to stay positive and on message or will she start really attacking him.

Being 60, this is probably Hillary's only shot. She's going to attack him with everything she's got.

Absolutely.

Add to that all of the shrapnel she took 'standing by her man' when he was getting hummers from an intern in full public view.

She paid her dues, now it's time to collect.

As long as Mrs. Clinton has a reasonable shot, she's going to fight for it - and as a potential CiC, I applaud her for doing so.

I'm guessing the same thing... just curious how far she'll take it... will it be more Carville or more Rove? All I can say is thank God for the shared delegate system the DNC has... Obama won't have clinched it for another couple of months, but now as the front runner he'll be attacked by Clinton and McCain. Being relatively inexperienced in this type of thing, he might make a big mistake...

He scares the hell ot of me.

Jeff, Big Mac is like what...80. Women live even longer and maybe the next cycle (not pms) she can run again...

Did you really need to even ask the question?

ABC News has learned that a group of Democratic politicos have set up a new independent 527 organization called the American Leadership Project (ALP) with the express purpose of helping Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, beat Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, in Ohio, and possibly Texas and Pennsylvania as well.

Its still really early in the process so maybe you haven't noticed... no one from the Bush family is running.

thats the one thing she has going for her. I don't particularily like Hillary, but the general attitudes of the obamites and their ilk coupled with a sense of entitlement has me supporting her at least for the primary. She is considered an underdog officially and this could play positively for her. Of course the american idol generation actually has to show up to vote in the real election and you cant text it in to win.

I applaud her for sticking it out and giving the finger to the crowd that didn't show in the 2004 election handing the election to bush.

This goes to convention it is a tossup who will be the nominee. far from over.

We're going to take Florida, then Michigan, then the Super Delegates, EIAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! This is going to be fun. Better stock up on buckshot for the coming riots.

What??? Hillary is the one who's been running as the "inevitable" candidate. She's the one running as though she's entitled to the White House.

Obama and his supporters have simply worked harder in all states. There's no entitlement there.

And Hillary is NOT the underdog. The underdog is someone who was never expected to win, who's been comming from behind.
That is Obama.

Hillary is the long term front runner who is now losing. Losing doesn't make you an underdog.

NA......... Bush is going to go for a third term. It's gotta be so..... The dems are campainging against him.

hillary should start calling him out as a nigger.. go very very negative. remind white folk that the whitehouse would be dirtied if a black man were sleeping in it... full of disease and uglyness... use every racial stereotype and attack she can think of.

You're getting ahead of yourself, Audrey. That's the GOP plan for the general election.

20,000 last night in Houston - and here's a live update from this morning in Dallas where my brother is standing in line waiting to get into the Obama rally at Reunion Arena...

The rally starts at 12:30 - they have been there since 8:00 and there are about 3000 people ahead of them and organizers say about 15-20,000 behind them and buses and trains arriving continuously. I believe Reunion holds about 18,000.

Sorry Hil.

Looking over the race, how much of Obama's criticism of Clinton have been o f the nature that would harm her and the party's chances in the general election? I seriously cannot think of any. While everything--EVERYTHING--coming out from the Clinton camp is stuff that can be picked up and used by the Republicans in one way or another or is designed to damage him as a candidate going forward as much if not more than it impacts him now ...

He seems to have stuck more or less to contrasting the two of them before Democrats while she goes on stage last night and claims he's not ready to be President.

They will destroy the Democratic party rather than give up this nomination. And don't tell me I am a Clinton hater for pointing out what is now obvious to everyone. The only thing the Clinton campaign can do at this point is go negative, and they are going to go full-bore negative.

As opposed to the winner take all system where repub votes end up not counting either?

I'm no fan of the super delegate system, but you might want to look at your own party before you go throwing stones.

Wow, this is dangerous for the Dems. Note the site's affiliation at the bottom of that website.

Chicago Sun-Times Gives Barack Obama His Own Section

"The Chicago Sun-Times in the direction of their liberal roots is the sidebar they have added to their political section that gives Barack Obama top billing with his own section above the generic "Politics News" catch all for all other low priority political coverage."

"The Sun Times has it all. You can visit Lynn Sweet's Obamaville section on her blog, check out the Obama Family tree, see if his family tree crosses yours, reminisce about Obama's journey to Africa, read up on his multicultural faith or even find out how Obama plays poker. These links are just for starters, all just a convenient mouse click away from one of the handy sections in either sidebar."

then how come every fucking website has a slew of obama supporters clamoring for hillary to step down when the spread is only 150 delegates and mich and fla are yet tbd?

she is behind in money and delegates.. thats an underdog.

streaming is right.. he is pissing down your backs and telling you its raining..

I will be shocked if she goes down without a fight... this is her only shot at the white house.

Hillary go down?

Don't think so.

Why else do you think Bubba was chubby chasing Monica bLewinsky around the oval orifice?

Actually at some point the senior Dem folk and Howard Dean are gonna hafta sit down and have a chat with the lass. In me spuddish imagination it goes sommat like this...

Hey Hill? Yeah, here's the thing. We can't let you keep giving the GOP lessons on how to grind away at the Obama campaign. You are too divisive, too polarising, too tired and uninspiring. Obama bring fresh blood in the Dem tent as opposed the to the blue rinse set who are the last demographic you can truly call your own. It's over. You fought the good fight and you will continue to make a formidable and admirable Senate leader and we need someone as tough as you in that place. So, pretty please with bells on... Let it go.

(No point in mentioning her age directly.)

Be Well.

then how come every fucking website has a slew of obama supporters clamoring for hillary to step down when the spread is only 150 delegates and mich and fla are yet tbd?

Coupla things here.

First, the spread would be even greater if the super delegates who declared themselves prematurely for Hill had not done so.

Second, WTF?! Obama abided by the rules and took his name off the ballot in Michigan. For this he should be punished and Hillary who didn't abide by the rules be rewarded? Nu-uh. Only fair solution to this would be to seat the delegates from both states but split them evenly between the two candidates. That way, it's effectively like there votes don't count which was the essence of the original DNC decision but the two states get to save some face and other states thinking of pushing their primaries ahead in future election cycles see that there are real consequences to the act. The other option involves a costly do-over in both plces but with Obama's current momentum that would clearly favour his chances. Not that Spud would mind that much.

The reason the intrawebs are so fulla Obama supporters and so lacking in Hill Shills is kind of a no-brainer. To policy wonks and political junkies who are up on all aspect of this race Obama is the obvious candidate for the Dems this time around.

/The more you know!

Be Well.

Clinton will not win enough delegates to overtake Obama. It's possible, but she can't do it. IN Wisconsin the only demographic she won was older womePersonally I thought Obama would do better in in Ohio and Penn. figuring Texas was out of reach, but the polls now show a dead heat.

Seems to be pattern with Obama comes to town. Clinton is toast.

As opposed to the winner take all system where repub votes end up not counting either?

so which primary was a take all and then didnt count?

and just watch.....if obama gets the popular vote and the supers vote hillary in, there will be a loud noise. and superdelegates have been posted in the paper in houston and they are all elected officials and other high up mucky mucks...and the two campaigns are throwing money at them left and right....so can you say thats a good thing.....is it against mccain feingold....
and if we gave people in that position THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for campaigns and such the DR leftists would be scorching the internet with name calling and accusations.
but when its dems.......there isnt a peep.....go figure.

oh yeah.....thousands and thousands of young people and again.......at least in the past...they DONT VOTE they are too busy getting drunk and looking for poon and those are full time jobs.

and a guest on chris matthews was asked what were obamas accomplishments in the senate and he GAVE NO ANSWER.....NOTHING BUT the stuff about hope and change and when pressed over and over, he said....he couldnt give any thing that obama did in the senate.

and yet people think he is fit for this job.....wow.......

it goes to show you that this race is like sex....all you need is a silver tongue and money and you can get anything you want.

and he GAVE NO ANSWER

That dumb fuck was an elected official from Texass.

And as you so ably demonstrate the educational system down there falls short.

Maybe you should tuned in tonight to hear what a gal from Missourah had top say.

NO loss for words.

so which primary was a take all and then didnt count?

Well, that wasn't at all what I said, but true to BL2 fashion, you've minced words.

Let me educate your slow self. The answer to your question is; "All of them that use the winner take all system."

If someone voted for RuPaul or HickaHeeHaw but McCant gets the most, those votes for RuPaul and Hicky effectively don't count and the delegates go to McCant. Do you not understand?

Like I said, look into your own parties system before you go blabbering on about others and making an ass of yourself.
