MoveOn voters favored Obama over Clinton by 70 percent to 30 percent

Freaks flock to freaks. So what?

Wow! Interesting. I was wondering how the vote would turn out. I didn't expect Obama to win by so much.

Just when I was starting to like the guy, MoreOn.org had to ruin it...

I was really going to vote for him over McCain. Now I'll have to reconsider. This is the kiss of death as far as I'm concerned.

I don't see any benefits in that... It's just like the Unions (One Name) but many different people with a mind to vote for the candidate of their choice. I wonder if this helps or hurts his chances. Edwards - please come back into the race!!!

With moveon and Ann Coulter in his corner the election is his to lose.

Damn, I had money on them going with Rudy.

moveon is one of the most disgusting organizations in America. Like many on here, this really makes me reconsider Obama. I want no association with soros whatsoever.

To be honest, MoveOn asked for my opinion today and I suggested that they remain neutral as they are at the point of doing more harm then good for the Democrats.

I see they don't care what I think....

I was really going to vote for him over McCain. Now I'll have to reconsider. This is the kiss of death as far as I'm concerned.

Please...between Hillary and Barack, did anyone really expect them to choose her?

This is just another example of the breadth of Obama's support, not an indictment of him being preferred by MoveOn. They had to chose someone, and I guess 70% of their members must not be as radical as many have thought. Obama didn't change, MoveOn did.

If MoveOn sways your vote--who cares--you are stupid and probably voted straight republican your whole life anyway.

MoveOn left it up to its member/voters to decide who to back. It wasn't an arbitrary editorial board (i.e. the NYT or NYP) who made the decision.

This is the liberal equivalent of an endorsement by Pat Robertson. There is no way I would vote for any candidate that he supported, and no way I will vote for any candidate that George Soros supports.

Considering the original reason Moveon was formed this is a little bit ironic.
Perhaps they really meant....move on.

Reality check.......

"God Damn You Manypaths, quit it with these....."

Exactly how many Presidential elections has MoveOn been successful on?

Drum Roll.....................

Come on, you know the answer...........

All Ears Here!

MoveOn is as close to a truly patriotic organization as we have. The REAL patriot does not march in lockstep over the cliff, but sees a flaw and tries to remedy it. MoveOn is on the cutting edge of progress, and has added a sense of enthusiasm, of hope, to my previously reluctant decision to work in Obama's corner. herm

That is a nice sentiment Herm, too bad they aren't more successful.

I would say that they do more harm to the Dems then good, and the last 2 Presidential elections would back-up my claim.

All they really do is give the GOP ammunition.

"If you are affiliated with MoveOn, then you must be some far left wacko."

Sorry, but that is the perception. That hurts the Dems.

Remember what MoveOn initially stood for.......a blow job.

I bet I can find reference to that blow job on this site today!

MoveOn? It didn't work then, and it ain't helping now........

There is a shock.....(not really)....When are you guys going to wake up and see that George just wants to ruin the US. He hates the fact that we have become so powerful and therefore has undertaken to destroy our way of life and our power via the political process.

Do you REALLY want big government, planned economy, controling your access to health care and defining what you can and cannot do?

Do you REALLY want large taxes and redistribution of wealth, or do you perfer the original American dream of if you work hard you can succeed?

Hillary or Obama - both envision European or worse socialism for us...if you vote that way you better be prepared to live that way and remove the chance for success from your children - for them to have it better than you - trading that for a common lower standard of living.

"Do you REALLY want large taxes and redistribution of wealth"

Don't look now, but redistribution of wealth is exactly what the Bush tax codes are all about. And the lack of "large taxes" translates into the largest deficits in human history, so you'll be paying that back, only with interest added. When Bush took office, you had to work less than two weeks each year to pay the annual interest on the debt. Now, you have to work more than three.

"Freaks flock to freaks."

Yea, riiiiiiiiight. Harvard Law, editor of the Law Review, took a $13,000 a year job when he could have made twenty times that amount. Choosing to help his fellow man instead of choosing the money.

Real freak.

Well, they've done it AGAIN! When are the democrats gonna find someone like Sam Nunn, Scoop Jackson, John Stennis, Mendel Rivers, ....you know, someone like JFK? Hell, JFK wouldn't even finish fifth in a democrat primary today, especially not after saying stuff like THIS:

" Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty. This much we pledge--and more."

He even cut taxes....HORRORS! The party is completely taken over by leftist-socialist moonbats. AND...the republicans are surely not much better!

"This is the liberal equivalent of an endorsement by Pat Robertson. There is no way I would vote for any candidate that he supported..."

So if Robertson endorses the Republican nominee, and Hillary is the Dem nominee, can she count on your vote?

Danforth - No, I'd cast a protest vote for the Libertarian candidate, whoever that might be. On the other hand, unless Hubbleberry is the nominee I don't see that happening anytime soon.

And the hits just keep on coming!

Go Obama!

Go America!

Obama/Edwards 08!

I see they don't care what I think....

Posted by Manypaths at 2008-02-01 02:47 PM

heh...sorry you are too low on the totem pole...

I have been accused here of getting my talking points from Moveon.org...

Now the truth is out... Moveon.org gets its talking points from ME!

Freaks flock to freaks. So what?

Posted by cookfish at 2008-02-01 12:39 PM

YOU'RE is a freak...

so what?

Moveon.org claims that 70% of their members support Slumlord Lover Obama.

That is really fuzzy math as far as I can see. MoveOn.org claims 3.2 million members. Of that number 197,444 voted to support Slumlord Lover Obama.

Now using New Math or Bush's Budget managers, that may be 70% of members, but under my old fashioned math calculations that is ONLY 6.17% of the membership. That means 93.83% of the memebers of MoveOn.org either support Hillary or haven't chosen to endores either candidate yet.

Add to this the fact that this vote was only spot checked (1 in 10 or 1 in 12 via telephone) to ensure someone didn't cast more than one vote for a candidate, I really can't believe that they would leave their stance of not endorsing any candidate during the primary process.

So Moveon.org, I predict, will lose far more than 197,444 of their members by throwing Hillary under the bus so that they can endorse Slumlord Lover Obama.

Seems pretty stupid to me for them to do this.
But then again, with a 100% rating from the ultra-Liberal organizations for his votes in 2007, perhaps it isn't so stupid. Since Hillary only ranks 16th in her votes for Liberal causes, she must appear as a real right-winger or even a neo-con to the folks at Moveon.org.

If I were Hillary, I would be happy that they endorsed Slumlord Lover Obama. It is even better than Teddy Kennedy's endorsement since Obama is actually rated to the LEFT of even him since Teddy only got a 95 rating compared to Obama's perfect 100 score.

2008's Puppet Candidates!

Theres not one of these media mongered presidential candidates who isn't in reality an "empty cliche" chosen especially by America's wealthy elite as a compliant puppet to do their bidding! For MoveOn.Org to back Obama or any of the other "ringers" just shows how bankrupt they are, both in morality and ideals!

Of course MoveOn endorsed him. MoveOn primary cause has been ending the war in Iraq. Obama opposed the invasion in 2002. Hillary voted to authorize it.

What surprises me is that 30% of MoveOn members voted for Hillary.

One of the less accurate forecasts we have seen even here for some time. Congratulations!

If MoveOn sways your vote--who cares--you are stupid. . .

If a youtube.com video sways your version of reality . . .

Goat do you work 28 on and 28 off on the rig? I almost took a job like that doing electronics/electrical repairs.

14 and 14 in the Gulf of Mexico
21 and 21 in S America
28 and 28 anywhere else

26 weeks a year off is great.

byrdman: email me if you want some hiring info. I'm an ET myself. The industry is hiring like crazy and paying well for it. And as I said, 26 weeks off a year is great. email me if you are interested. They are looking for both ETs and electricians big time.

it will be a McCain and Giuliani ticket for the Repubs.

Having MoveOn endorse you ranks right up there with having the National Enquirer or some teen mag support you. So far, No-Bama has support from an old drunk, 2004's loser (and you are a real loser if you can't beat Bush) and someone who gets overpaid to talk to people on TV. Oh, and lets not forget the NY Post! (kind of like HELLO! magazine without the cool pictures). Yeah, really makes me want to support him!!

he American Conservative Magazine Endorses Ron Paul for President

"Only [Ron Paul] has put forth a diagnosis of America's current ills and has a vision to turn America off its misguided course."

Ooops!
"The American Conservative Magazine Endorses Ron Paul for President"

"Only [Ron Paul] has put forth a diagnosis of America's current ills and has a vision to turn America off its misguided course."

it's a ruse, people!

george sorass is really saying, "vote for hitlery...vote for hitlery...vote for hitlery..."

when are you going to get it?

think lockstep.

she has cofounded a couple of his venues - come on!

With Edwards out the poor HEDGE FUND OWNERS are down to only Hill and Ob. Guess they think Ob is going to be better for their fleecing us SHEEP!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ahh, the next 8 years will be worth it to hear these goosestepping republicans whine about Hillary as the economy booms and the troops come home. Then another 8 years as it will be Obamas turn.

SWEEEEEEEEEEET

Ahh, the next 8 years will be worth it to hear these goosestepping republicans whine about Hillary as the economy booms......

Republicans whine when the economy booms? News to me!!!

You will whine no matter what buttholebob. That is all you have ever done in your whole pathetic life.

I certainly didn't whine in the 90's when my investments were earning 15%+ in many of those years.

Ahh, the next 8 years will be worth it to hear these goosestepping republicans whine about Hillary as the economy booms and the troops come home. Then another 8 years as it will be Obamas turn.

I've heard you say more than once that the world was ending in December 2012, bob. Is wonder woman saving us from the Mayan calendar, too?

Goatman

You have never heard me say even once that the world was ending Dec 2012.

Do you ever get anything right? Ever? Just once?

There are 5 sources for the Dec 2012 date. None of them say the world will end. They all say there will be great changes to humanity. It does not mean the end of humanity or the world.

There are 5 sources for the Dec 2012 date. None of them say the world will end. They all say there will be great changes to humanity

But, according to you, is there any humanity now??

LOL

You have never heard me say even once that the world was ending Dec 2012.

OK. You are right. I saw you write it on a blog. *sigh*

Eberly

There isn't much, I agree. Americans who are willing to let other Americans die for lack of Insurance doesn't seem very humane to me.

Killing thousands upon thousands of innocent people in some so-called "war on terror" doesn't seem very humane to me. If I were one of those people, I would consider the terrorists to be the ones about to obliterate me, my wife, and children with that bomb about to hit my house in two seconds.

Of course if you were in the plane, you would think you were bombing terrorists.

Who would you think had the more valid point?

Goatman

You never saw me write it in a blog either. You always see what you want to see. Reality doesn't really factor into your decisions or sight.

Do you ever get anything right? Ever? Just once?

More than once. You've even admitted it yourself. A couple of times come to my immediate memory.

I told you you were wrong about the length of the day on the moon and the reason shadows moved more slowly. You admitted I was right and you were wrong. I pointed out to you that the equinoxes had an effect for when geosynchronous satellites entered the shadow of the earth. You admitted again that you were wrong and I was right.

There are many more times I've been right and you've been wrong, but I don't feel like writing a book right now. You'll have to settle for these two examples

Of course if you were in the plane, you would think you were bombing terrorists.

Once again, the age old and very transparent approach of liberals is to assign a position to someone else and let that be the starting point of an argument.

the next thing said is a question that is already stupid because it is based on the position assigned to me earlier.

Who would you think had the more valid point?

LOL

"the length of the day on the moon "

It's called a month for some damn reason.

2012 is less than four years away, I've been wasting time here longer than that.

Republicans whine when the economy booms? News to me!!!

LOL---You mean you were a strong Clinton supporter? YEAH RIGHT!!!! You were bitching about Clinton the whole 8 years.

Goatman

You are correct. I am mistaken. Every now and then you do come up with valid points. They are just so few and far between I tend to forget them since you seem to gloat about them for months and months afterwards, my mind just puts it into the rest of the BS you tend to spew. Yep---two points out of two thousand posts. You can understand how I could so easily forget them what with you patting yourself on the back after each valid point. Has your arm healed yet?

You mean you were a strong Clinton supporter? YEAH RIGHT!!!! You were bitching about Clinton the whole 8 years.

What is the record for assigning positions to others on multiple threads at the same time?

I said I wasn't whining........which is 100% true.

LOL---You mean you were a strong Clinton supporter? YEAH RIGHT!!!! You were bitching about Clinton the whole 8 years.

I can't speak for Eb, but I know I was able to enjoy the booming economy and dislike Clinton. I'm sure if I was able to do it, others could too, bob. I'm no more special than anyone else

Eberly

I assigned you no position. None. I asked you a question.

Which of the people in the scenario had the more valid point. The person in the plane or the person on the ground. Too tough to answer? Try this.

A) The person in the air was more correct.

B) The person on the ground was more correct.

I know you won't answer, which is actually my point.

I assigned you no position. None.

retard.

Of course if you were in the plane, you would think you were bombing terrorists.

You are telling me that I would think I was bombing terrorists......you don't know shit about what a pilot is thinking (or anybody in uniform for that matter).

retard

I tend to forget them since you seem to gloat bout them for months and months afterwards

First time I've brought those instances up since they occured. Besides, how could you forget if I continue to gloat? The "equinox" thing was one month ago. How could I have gloated about it for "months and months"? None of what you are saying makes any sense when considered in the context that it happened. But then again, nothing you say seldom does

Eberly

Again, I assigned you no position I did not say you were a Clinton supporter---I asked a question. That's why there was a question mark at the end.

The point was that republicans bitch about any democrat, no matter what the economy is doing. If the economy is good when a democrat is in office it is because a republican made it happen. If the economy is bad when a democrat is in office then it is the democrats fault.

The point was---republicans will whine and bitch no matter what the economy does. Your answers prove my point, as does Goatmans. The economy does well----and you still attack the dem.

A) The person in the air was more correct.

B) The person on the ground was more correct.

Unless you have been in both situations then you are assigning a position to both these folks.

And again, you don't know shit about either.

The high school kids who throw bags of dogshit lit on fire at your house doesn't count as being in a house thats being bombed.

The point was---republicans will whine and bitch no matter what the economy does.

bullshit. that is the job of liberals like you.

You think I am a "whiner"?

compared to you?

retard

Eberly

You have lost your cool and the discussion. Run along. I like talking to adults. Even Goatman is making more sense than you on this thread.

Yeah right. Keep on believing that if it helps.

Even Goatman is making more sense than you on this thread.

I take that as a compliment since I find Eberly to be one of the more sensible posters here. That being the case, take this to the bank, bob -- he makes much more sense than you!

Okay bob, I'll let you go for now.

thanks goat.

glad to have you back. too bad spud is too much of a pussy to return.

It does, bob. It does.

Calling someone a "retard" is kicking their ass?

wow--I did not know that.

Retard.

;-)

Obama makes sense. He seems like a very good candidate. Hillary is a seems like a lying two face tell you what you want to hear fascist!

I was tired of Bill Clinton then and would really hate to see the other half later! LOL!

Hey Buffalo Blob, you said:

"Americans who are willing to let other Americans die for lack of Insurance doesn't seem very humane to me."

Is that Car insurance, Flight Insurance, Fire Insurance, Flood Insurance, Insurance at the Craps table...???

Ok, I think I can INTUIT you are speaking about Health Insurance. Of course, if you can't find a doctor, clinic, hospital... what good does insurance do??

Correct me if I am wrong, BUT, if I am dying and someone calls an ambulance for me, won't they take me to the local hospital?? Won't the local hospital give me health care?? In California where I live it is the LAW!!!!! It is why some emergency rooms are closing. They lose SOOOOOOO much money taking care of deadbeats and Illegals that they can not afford to pay upkeep on the building, supplies, salaries and end up CLOSING!!!

So the question is the same no matter how you cut it. Are we willing to pay the BILL for health care for everyone at a level that will satisfy you LEFTARDS!!!!!

Personally I don't want the Gubmint HELPING me with ANYTHING!!! Everywhere they stick their REGULATING NOSE becomes inefficent, overpriced, and RARE!!!

A perfectly good example of what happens with Gubmint involvement involves Legal Aid here in Cali. The Bleeding Brain Liberals decided that all the PO PEOPLE needed Legal Assistance to keep them from being evicted from the Flea Bag slums where they weren't paying rent (yeah an exageration) so they decided to allow Attorneys who took on the cases Pro Bono (that means for FREE as in doing a good deed) to charge market rates for their services. These market rates would be paid by the state to the Attorney. So, what we end up doing is paying a top flight attorney 200-400 dollars an hour to defend a wino from being evicted or convicted of pissing in some businesses doorway. Oh, and they can charge for the SUPPLIES and Legal Assistants...

Now, ya think this really improves anyones life except the attorney pocketing some REALLY EASY MONEY!?!?!?!?!?!

I worked for a Law Firm called Morrison and Foerster in San Francisco during the early 90's. It is the secondest biggest firm in California and in the top 10 in the US. We had one attorney that spent ALL his time doing Pro Bono work. He was the LARGEST CHUNK OF INCOME FOR THE FIRM FOR ABOUT A YEAR ON THE CALIFORNIA TAXPAYERS DIME during the recession!!!!!

The idea of Pro Bono is to give back some of your riches to the community. How does pocketing our cash for trivial cases show the compassion in the attorneys heart?? How did it really improve the community?? The money would have been better spent building mandatory rehab centers and other places to help the clients!!

Now, try to stretch your imagination and come up with the worst abuses you can imagine an unaccountable bureaucracy committing with your money. Now try to imagine that nightmare multiplied several times. You now have a tiny idea of what more Gubmint involvement will do to our Health Care System.

Just try to remember, the closer you get to a perfect system, the effort and costs go up logarithmically. We are far from perfect, but, it is something we can AFFORD and that DOES provide reasonable service to MOST people.

Can it be made better? Probably. Try REMOVING gubmint involvement and see how much better it gets!!!!

We have doctors and nurses who volunteer all the time. If they are burdened with ridiculous Gubmint regulations (as is becoming common) they will end up not having the time to help the poor and we will all pay more than we can afford!! We will end up like Canada and the other Socialist states where the Doctors head for Greener pastures or DON'T BECOME DOCTORS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

Castro gets past this by FORCING people to become Doctors and PREVENTING immigration. Is that what you want the US to do??

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
