Calling a woman a cunt is way outside the acceptable limits of political debate. Of course the guy is an opportunistic asshole, that's not the problem. The problem is that guys like him are allowed to get away with it, especially by our useless media for whom the ratings boost that conflict, real or engineered, brings is the be-all and end-all. Other posters have mentioned that this will probably help Hillary and yet others see this as part of a Rethug conspiracy to ensure that she is the candidate. I think the first is unarguable because a large part of her base is older women and the tragedy is that the second might be true.

I don't like the Clintons' campaign strategy either, the way they are using the Democratic machine and all sorts of lobbyist/big donor/establishment money to railroad her in sticks in my craw. That's why I support Obama and not her, a lot of his money and support is coming from people like you and me and not organized political entities of one sort or another.

Elections in this country have descended to an obscene farce with money and dirty politics determining the winners. And don't get me started on electronic voting machines whose functionality is shrouded in secrecy.

One she is more corporate power friendly in case she wins.

Two they view her as more beatable.

Good point Allie. But I'm no prick and I'd never fire "cunt" as a verbal bullet to wound a woman. That's the domain of Republican operatives and other lowlifes. But at it's most basic, the word simply gives a name to a part of the female anatomy. It's a great word in that context. The charge that has developed around "cunt" needs to be defused.

Guess it all depends on how it is used. I much prefer "pussy" to describe that part of my anatomy. It suggests something soft and pettable. But calling somebody a "pussy" can be negative too. I see your point.
