Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas: Next Tuesday, January 15th, Michigan will hold its primary. Michigan Democrats should vote for Mitt Romney. ... Michigan is Romney's last stand. He has pulled all advertising from other states for a last-ditch effort there. It's sink or swim time for Romney, and we're going to throw him a lifesaver.

Damn good idea!

Now that is funny!

Sounds like something the Rethugs would do- like Gerrymandering or requiring ID cards to vote for no apparent reason.

Ok! Nothing wrong with a taste of yer own medicine!

So, Open wide! How do you like it now Repugs?

ha! ha! he! he! ho! ho!

Someone in Michigan - a state going throught the toughest times since the Great Depression - ought to look into Romney's venture business.

His business was to buy companies, lay off a lot of workers, outsource, and then sell the companies - often to foreign owners.

In Michigan, a state which is reeling from the collapse of the manufacturing base dues to such private equity buyouts and outsourcing should know the truth about someone who claims he cares about them.

While he talks a good talk about 'restoring the economy', his business and fortune are built on doing exactly the opposite for folks like those being foreclosed on in Michigan. RECORD foreclosures. Can't even sell your house, and if you do it's worth 60-70% less than a few years ago.

yeah.. unions and over compensation as well as a shitty mix of automobiles had nothing to do with it.

you fucking people kill me.

Its called "salvaging" I believe. And if its done on a business, its typically to stave off the inevitable closure of said business.

I don't know nearly enough to go into a discertation on the subject, but I tend to believe salvaging is in fact a neccessary aspect to restoring the economy. Its like rubbing off dead skin.

The UAW autoworkers NEVER had a say in what cars Detroit builds did they LEGIO?

It's the reach for superwealth that's led to our manufacturing base being gutted here in the U.S.

yeah.. unions and over compensation as well as a shitty mix of automobiles had nothing to do with it.

GM demanding that its suppliers outsource at least half their work to China had nothing to do with it. The fact that the Republicans let South Korea export 20 cars to NA for every one they import from NA is irrelevant as well.

I know most top GM managers are working for minimum wage these days, as do the Boards of Directors. Or was that the "overcompensation" you were talking about.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Kos is being irresponsible and slimy. Some wealthy fascists among the far right lunatic fringe love that sort of thing and have used George Wallace, Jesse Jackson and the Swiftboat scum to pursue their selfish dead end agendas. It validates their existence, I suppose. Kos would be well advised not to go down that same road.

Rightnuts will go to their graves thinking that unions are responsible for all the problems in the auto industry. Its just part of their belief system and there's nothing to be done about it. It seems to escape them that Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mercedes, BMW etc. all have unionized work forces and produce great cars that Americans can't get enough of. Of course their management works with their unions in a constructive way and they don't have to spend money on health care for their employees and their families either, so that helps. But rightnuts will also go to their graves -- a lot of them earlier than they needed to -- saying that socialized healthcare is terrible. Nothing to be done about that either.

Kucinich might pull a lot of votes in MI...edwards, obama aren't on the ballot.

It's basically Hillary Kucinich and uncommitted. An Uncommited vote lets the delegate decide who to vote for, and anti hillary folks might not want to risk inadvertantly giving her the nod.

SO that leaves mr. K.

Isn't it ironic that in this discussion over the dreaded 'national health care' Medicare delivers the lowest cost health care and spends the least in administrative fees of all the health care system?

Administrative costs:

Medicare - 2%
Private - 10=20%, average 17% of every dollar wasted.

I live in Michigan.

There is a big push for Ron Paul here by Democrats...that way you have 2 chances to keep fascist pricks out of the White House.

At least to the people I talk to...Not to mention all the thumbs up I get from the VOTE RON PAUL sign painted on my back window...even by the cops that pull me over. :)

It's set up for those delegates to go to Hillary. Mark my words... when the rubber hits the road, Hillary will get the delegates, and they will count. The system will be slanted to Hillary whether you like it or not...and Obama won't say a word.

Americans are good workers. Japan made a commitment to delivering the best cars at the best price using American Quality Control Theory. US Corporations focus only on manipulating stock prices for their bonuses. The results prove both sides are good at what they do. Unfortunately, American workers must suffer because of our shortsighted greedy leaders. Massive overcompensation, yes, within management, not labor.

"But rightnuts will also go to their graves -- a lot of them earlier than they needed to"

Hey Blue, I really like the sound of that!!! and not a minute too soon, IMHO.

Anyone who's ever listened to Rimjob or Orally and said "that makes a lot of sense" needs to shuffle off their mortal coil ASAP.

I especially love Romney and his "I'm the political outsider" spin he tries to put on his campaign.

From WIKI: Romney is the son of former Michigan Governor and 1968 presidential candidate George W. Romney, and 1970 U.S. Senate candidate Lenore Romney.

Also, he seems to forget he was a governor himself.

Yup, a real 'outsider'.

p.s. Putting your dog on the roof of your car while going on a long trip....not the brightest thing I've heard of.

Vote Clark W Griswold!

Wow. I say it would be funny if it weren't so sad.

The very reason I avoid Daily Kos.

Which explains his demand for a NH recount.. shrewd, but at least he's going to give them hell before they crown King Clinton.

Yes, this is the plan alrighty.. The same reason they do permit Ron Paul to barely stay in the race - to eradicate those non-conforming votes.

This also explains the behavior of election officials destroying Ron Paul caucus votes.

So, I just spoke with a friend in Chicago from a conservative Italian family and was stunned to find out they want to vote Kucinich! I can't believe it either. So, I explained what Ron Paul is doing sucking-up Kucinich votes since Dennis won't be allowed to run.. We all tentatively agree that voting for Ron Paul is the second best option, but detest voting the R-tards back into office, let alone paying their wages. That's one point that libs and cons completely agree on.

Actually, bitching about the "R" Word is really just slapping the dead horse with a dead horse.

Everyone being forced to Independent were going to switch anyhow by magic for the Hillary fix to look good. But what else are those disenchanted ex-Republicans for? They need a new home for their party, but the sub-prime market is leaving them naked. Everything this Republican administration has set forth to do was entirely the opposite of what our nation and our global community deserve.

What's especially insidious is that how as a nation losing our identity and falling headlong into disaster after disaster, we feel the need to be coddled by mom/wife/commander/daughter and forego all sense at these emotional extremes. She holds untold power, but something tells me that none of it will show compassion toward the Palestinians.

Maybe I'm being too harsh on Mrs. Clinton. Her meet and greets appear completely above and beyond board - she's obviously cultivated enough to know who not to let go of, blah, blah. But, with Martha Stewartship also comes great insincerity, phrased as forced smiles and "roadmaps to peaces". I do admire her ability to not be detracted by her own occasional awkwardness (her "black" accent for a Southern community), but I'm also certain she doesn't write her own scripts and to that end will give much more consistent performances than George has provided. He's been loads of laughs, but just as many tears. Or was that also urine?

Xanax.. from Laura's stash. But then Drinky McDumbass gets his sauce on and WOWZERS! He should have a b-injection before each public hangove.. uh, public speech.

I can just imagine him all stretched-out and sketched-out, his jittery giggle bobbling his noggin hither and tither as mister Rove a steamer blown skittery tippity-taps a chocolate dance across the marble floor, towards the open door, whereby he might take flight like a shit on the wing into the night. Yeah, and Rumsfeld slips silently into sections standing stalking a silky throat, statuesque bloodless black velvety slipknot drawn taught across turdblossom the brown clown that filths around disturbingly. CSI would have a hay-day with my idea of a Rosie/Trump sex crime, proving that even Cerebrus can spawn more teats..

Anyhow, "I AM THEE BITCHES BITCH, MY FELLOWS" bellows Bush his yellowed-eye socket plugged with MAGGOTS! MAGGOTS! MAGGOTS! And thus his asshole stretched across the globe, enveloping our sanity in it's moist, brown stench. A world forever stinking of Bushs ass. Amen.

Go Hillary!

Er, Ron Paul!
