If we want to be fair, then absolutely we can say that Fox News has a larger representation of right-of-center COMMENTATORS. If you look at the actual NEWS it's tame enough that with the right accent, even the BBC might be OK with it.

So if we have a bunch of networks that you agree lean left, what's wrong with having one network that leans slightly the other way?

Again - look at the distinguished guests they get on O'Reilly and even Hannity & Colmes. Though I think Ellis Hennican would make a much better Left advocate than Colmes does.

SAN - have you ever watched O'Reilly with any regularity? If so, you'll know that getting many Democrats and/or Leftists to even phone him back is a large problem for O'Reilly. This incident may have been the only way for him to reach Obama. You probably could file this under "what journalists do."

As I said in an earlier post: I believe the Dems who show up on O'Reilly have some balls and their appearance on his highly-rated show has helped more than hurt them. Some people say Al Gore could have decisively swung that tight vote in Florida in 2000 if he had gone on O'Reilly instead of blowing off the invitation. A lot of independent/undecideds watch that show.

Would it hurt Obama to get on there? No.

I've seen the show, Fair. I can't imagine any serious Democratic candidate for office ever wanting to appear on it. It is NOT a fair forum because O'Reilly is not a journalist - he's an idealogue who prefers the sound of his own voice above all.

Sometimes "talking points" are an accurate depiction of reality, Fair. So don't assume other's opinions are unsubstantiated, just because they don't happen to coincide with yours.
