all nine residents of Wyoming (8 of them Mormons) support Romney

It's a whole new ball game now!

At least that's what everyone was trying to say about Hill and Obama and Huck.

Regards,
etc.

Wyoming: Dick Cheney's readopted home state. Where he moved when his long residency in Texas proved a problem to his being Vice President (P and VP cannot be residents of the same state)

Romney is a slicker and more articulate version of W's "my way or the highway". Another arrogant, spoiled little rich boy born on third base who think he hit a triple.

Don't be dispirited AmericanUnity. Mr. Romney is the real thing. He's an exremely competent leader and administrator, highly intelligent, made a fortune on his own. And he has been squeaky clean.

All of the innuendo won't help you. The truth will out.

Mr. Romney is a giant among the pygmies, who are the Democrat Party candidates, and most of the Republican Party candidates (except for Fred Thmpson).

Who are the main Democrat party candidates, a sociopathic shrew, an Afrocentric black racist advocate for wealth transfers to the indigent idle poor from whitey, and a flimflam man who used "junk science" to secure large judgments from innocent people as he channeled dead babies.

Of course, the Republicans have a man mired in a medieval world view, a liberated Eastern establishment candidate and a practitioner of serial monogamy with some lapses, and an old open borders fellow whose claim to fame is that his imprisonment for several years renders him averse to securing information from terrorists by coercion.

If this were the media favored Democrat candidate, we'd have editorials concerning "the trend" and great significance of this victory.

Romney? Competent?

I guess if you mean while running the state of Massachusetts and going to other states to bitch about your own 'adopted' state THAT YOU RUN, as somehow being competent, then yes. Weren't you rednecks smearing the dixie bitches for this same thing?

Also, your 'racist' remark regarding Obama is quite interesting, especially while you ignore the FACT that Romney said he was never a "cafeteria mormon" and followed their teachings to the letter. Even the one that said blacks could not get into heaven, but if they really tried hard they would be let in to heaven to be slaves for the Mormons. I guess that's not racism in your eyes.

Did you forge thtat little part? Ooooooops.

Interesting. I never knew that.

Chris

This story was big during the 2000 election. I remember the same state rule from civics class in high school. But, back to topic: I don't think we will have any idea who the candidate will be for either party until after Super Tuesday--who cares about Iowa, NH or Wyoming?...what to they have, 5 electorial votes total? They don't matter.

"Mr. Romney is the real thing"

A genuwhine snakeoil salesman and flimflam man combo? You bethca.

You can be forgiven for that, CC--considering it's false. It's a common myth that the 12th Amendment precludes the president and vice president being from the same state. It doesn't.

Come on Doc, more like usedcar salesman and flimflam man combo?

Romney is the conservative media's favored candidate. Did Wyoming get big coverage on Fox News? I'm guessing they ho-hummed this one like everybody else. Our primaries are weird.

Sure it does RIR.

"The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves;"

STIRS -
Right. But I just have to include snakeoil in the mix. Oh, and insurance salesman. Sometimes I wonder, what color is his hair?

Romney seems like a decent enough guy (barring the aparent disregard for animals he has). However he stands out as 1 of 2 republicans who says they will govern acording to religion. I do not see that as a good thing for our country.

Vacuum cleaner salesman or maybe congressman.

Eddie Haskell as student council president

Nope. Not true. The 12th Amendment means that the electors of a state cannot simultaneously vote for a president and a vice president from the same state as the electors themselves. It was intended to remedy a couple of things; namely, that the direct election by the electors could result in a VP and a Pres from different parties. Or, that a certain state could control enough electors that they could choose any VP they wanted, irrespective of the margin of returns for the presidency.

Literally, it means that if two guys from Arkansas, say, were to run as Pres and VP, that Arkansas can cast all their EC votes for the President, but not the VP. That's all.

Of course, most candidates prefer to pick someone from another state to help campaigns there, so it doesn't come up.

Two words-Big Dig.

Old Faithful and Dick Cheney. You'd think that's enough immortality for one state. I'm hard pressed to think of anything else in Wyoming. herm

I guess Cheney moved back to Wyoming for the quail hunting

Cheney HAD to move back to Wyoming. Here's why:

The Twelth Amendment - FindLaw

"Dick Cheney is from Casper, Wyoming.

The only city in America whiter than the ghost it was named after."

Be Well.

PS: Yes, Spud does luff that joke.

All we need to know about Romney came to light at 3:07AM...he has Schlong-boy shilling for him. I thought the lil prick had a permanent hard on for Fred! Don't these plastic pants-pissers have any loyalty?

A tital wave of support for Romney is now headed to...to, uh Billings and uh, uh, Minot

"I'm hard pressed to think of anything else in Wyoming. herm"

Devil's Tower and Butch Cassidy's Hole in the Wall hideout.

Q101. "Exactly where in the Constitution does it say that the President and Vice President cannot be from the same state? In the 12th amendment the wording leads me to think that the electors and the candidates cannot be from the same state."

A. The Constitution doesn't say that they cannot be from the same state. However, the 12th Amendment does say that electors may not vote for a President from their state and a Vice President also from their state. This issue came up in the 2000 presidential campaign when Texas Governor George W. Bush chose fellow Texas resident Richard Cheney to be his running mate. Cheney, who had served in Congress as a Representative from Wyoming, quickly changed his legal residence back to Wyoming to avoid the possible conflict for electors from Texas. Court challenges to Cheney's change of residency were denied.

It is unlikely that two people from the same state would ever be nominated by a major political party. It is constitutionally possible however. If it ever came to pass, the party that won the ticket's state would likely suggest to the electors that their votes for the President go to the presidential nominee and that the votes for the Vice President be given in honor of a party official. Electors in all other states, as mentioned above, would be free to vote for both of the party's nominees.
