Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The double-murder of a popular young couple from tiny Graham, Wash., has become an issue in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, raising the legacy of Willie Horton because a judge appointed by then-Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney released the suspected killer. "It's not an isolated incident," Giuliani told the Associated Press. "The reality is, he did not have a record of reducing violent crime."

"Let's all not rush to the facts in this case but work to create as much of a smoke screen as possible to improve our standing in the polls"

......the swiftboating has begun.........

The irony, oh the irony. Never mind the firefighters who died needlessly on 9/11. Focus on somebody else's error.

I always thought this was a BS attack on a political candidate. Judicial appointments are bound to make mistakes sometime. Unless that appointment repeated those mistakes over and over again, i just can't pin the blame on Romney.

The Judge in the case is "clean." The Prosecutors did not make the information available to her.

But politicians find the scapegoats they need. Why Giuliani is as ruthless as a Clinton (or a Kennedy).

Don't confuse us with the facts. The ones culpable in this case are the prosecutors, who did not present the information to the Judge. The Judge is a better scapegoat.

Ruthless politicians are interested in "appearance." So, the persons responsible, the prosecutors, go unscathed since the Judge is a better symbolic target.

Duplicty and dishonest characterize our politicians. Smoke and mirrors.

Not me. Not me. And let the Devil take the hindmost.

Both Giulians and Romney are acting like scumbags in this case. Leaves a wide open path for Huckabee to take the high road.

Giuliani is following in the tradition of Willie Horton, McCain's "black" baby, Vince Foster, the swiftboaters and countless other examples. Both parties are guilty of it though it does seem to me that rightwingers use it more. There was a recent example in Australia too when the rightwingers there became desperate.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Hillary use these tactics too but it would if any of the other current Dems did, especially Obama or Edwards. Maybe I'm naive but if enough of us say that enough is enough and reject the people who use these tactics then they will stop being used.

"I believe a Presidential Candidate should have an exemplary record of judicial appointees."

Romney isn't acting too strange about this it is Giuliani that is hitting it hard, when he made similar mistakes. You can't expect to pick a perfect judge and have their decisions weigh on Romney...it's just dumb. Romney is still the best choice so get off it Guils

Man this is like Karl Rove politics 101....

Take the one thing that you suck at more than anyone else, then accuse the other guy of being even more suckass, while pretending you did no wrong.
