In a speech Tuesday, Republican Mitt Romney confused the names of Sen. Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden, accusing Obama of urging terrorists to congregate in Iraq. "Actually, just look at what Osam -- Barack Obama -- said just yesterday," Romney said. "Barack Obama, calling on radicals, jihadists of all different types, to come together in Iraq."

Remember, Willard is a Republican. They love you if'n ya ain't be speakin to good.

Actually, I'm not so sure this isn't a planned event.

Barack Hussain Obama for President of these United States?

Give me a fucking break!

This is a new trend in the Rethug campaigns. See who can come off looking as stupid as the chimp. Gotta get the core energized!!!

This is as funny as when Teddy Kennedy did the same thing--it's funny--there will be jokes to be sure.

Murphy

"Actually, just look at what Osam -- Barack Obama -- said just yesterday. Barack Obama, calling on radicals, jihadists of all different types, to come together in Iraq. That is the battlefield. ... It's almost as if the Democratic contenders for president are living in fantasyland. Their idea for jihad is to retreat, and their idea for the economy is to also retreat. And in my view, both efforts are wrongheaded."

That is no slip of the tongue. He opened his mouth with the intent of attacking Democratic contenders. Obama is a Dem contender.

It was either a deliberate attempt to liken their names or he really though Obama made those statements, but do not try to tell me that it was a mistake.

Com'on MP.

Willard doesn't have the intelligence to be stupid on purpose. Obama and Osama sound exactly the same. John Kerry would do it daily. You're giving Willard too much credit.

Leave Romney alone he's simply been out drinking with Senator Kennedy from his esteemed State of Mass (hiccup) chusetts. They both have the same Obama/Osama affliction.

And Rudy misquoted himself when he said he put as much time in at the WTC as anybody. Bearing false witness is one of the Christian ten no-nos. I'm not sure what the Mormons take on it is. pProbably you can screw over a non-Mormon with God's permission.

Hate and hypocracy are all the Republicans have to offer for 2008.

Hmmmmm...Harvard Law Degree, sharp, has an international presence...would probably even improve the image of America with the rest of the world. But, his name disqualifies him. Instead, we'll just elect someone we "would want to have a beer with". How's that working?

No his experience disqualifies him. How does Obama think he deserves to be considered? Let's be honest here. He was propped up by the dems in 06 and helped them gain seats as well as campaign dollars. He is a former State Senator from a liberal state who ran unopposed for the US Senate and thinks after a couple of years in office he is ready to lead a country? I can only hope the Dems nominate him. I have no problem he is going to buck an election where there has only been ONE sitting Senator to go to the White House in decades.

What experience did George Bush have? JFK was the same age, and had similar amount of time in the Senate when he was elected. Obama spent years as a community organizer on the streets of Chicago, does that experience count? The experience he lacks is the experience many others have, the experience of being pure idealogues and not able to work with people. There's a republican state senator from IL who endorses Obama, and he also gets bucks from fed up republicans and has the support of former Bush aide Matthew Dowd, who left the Bush administration because he was fed up with their political stunts. By all accounts, the American people want something different and Obama can offer that.

But the point I was raising was the right's fascination with his name :)

If we're really going to use experience, then lets look at Fred Thompson. He was a 1.5 term Senator who dumped his country when they needed it the most, right after 911, to go be an actor.

At least Obama is a current Senator and not some 1.5 term senator who ran away after 911.

Experience? You were saying?

Strap_On,

Romney hates Massachusetts. He spent most of his time here going to other states to bitch about Massachusetts.......all while he was at the helm of it. Mitt Romney is the 4th Dixie Chick.

What experience did George Bush have?

If we're really going to use experience, then lets look at Fred Thompson

Posted by COMMONSENSE at 2007-10-23 08:04 PM

Bush, Thompson... This is about a liberal Junior Senator thinking he has what it takes to run for President. Not sure why the other two are even mentioned.

I do have to chuckle when obamavoter believes he can compare BHO to JFK. Other than the fact they were male, about the same age and were Democrats?

Teddy Kennedy did it first.

Teddy Kennedy did it first.

Teddy is always good as a punchline.

Crispee,

Would you chuckle if JFK's advisor Ted Sorenson compares Obama to JFK?

You're not sure? Did you read my post. I was asking why many on here question Obabams experience when Fred Thompson has about the same experience.

"Liberal Senator"......if he was a conservative, his experience wouldn't matter?

Get it?

It's no 'slip of the tongue' or a 'misspeak' on Romney's part. It's clear evidence of stupidity.

Only a moron could imagine that Obama would solicit Islamic terrorists to congregate in Iraq against us. Romney made W look like a genius today.

But his stupidity will be downplayed by all the right-to-lifers/religious right who are his base right now.

Romney is weak, vacillating, dodgy. Immediately and reflexively throwing Larry Craig under the bus after Craig's 'potty prosecution' was a 'tell' about both Romney's character and his (lack of) moral courage. And no amount of hair styling on his part can fix him.

Go Rudy!

How much more stupid can a person get?

Discover what Ron Paul has done as a congressman. Imagine what he will do as president.

When health freedom advocates need a congressman to fight against attempts to restrict access to dietary supplements, they turn to Dr. Ron Paul. Dr. Paul is the leader in Washington who is not afraid to fight the powerful special interests that want to limit access to dietary supplements.

When Dr. Paul learned the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was trying to censor truthful health claims by supplement manufacturers, he introduced the Health Freedom Protection Act (H.R. 2117).

"The Health Freedom Protection Act will force the FDA to at last comply with the commands of Congress, the First Amendment, and the American people by codifying the First Amendment standards adopted by the federal courts. Specifically, the Health Freedom Protection Act stops the FDA from censoring truthful claims about the curative, mitigate, or preventative effects of dietary supplements, and adopts the federal court's suggested use of disclaimers as an alternative to censorship. The Health Freedom Protection Act also stops the FDA from prohibiting the distribution of scientific articles and publications regarding the role of nutrients in protecting against disease," Dr. Paul explained.

Our health freedom is also threatened by attempts to "harmonize" American laws with those of other countries, thus forcing Americans to live under European-style restrictions of dietary supplements. Dr. Paul worked to add language to the 1997 FDA Modernization Act forbidding the FDA from harmonizing our rules with those of any other nation.

The primary instrument of "harmonization" is the Codex Alimentarius Commission, a group of international bureaucrats who are developing "health care standards" for the United Nations and the World Trade Organization. The FDA is an enthusiastic participant in the Codex process.

When Dr. Paul learned the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) contained language that might facilitate the imposition of Codex's restrictive standards on American consumers, he informed his congressional colleagues of this danger with a series of letters. In addition, Dr. Paul sponsored several briefings on the issue.

More recently, Dr. Paul has shown how the FDA is working with its counterparts in Canada and Mexico on a Trilateral Cooperation charter that could "harmonize" regulation of dietary supplements among the three countries. Dr. Paul led a congressional inquiry into the Trilateral Cooperation, forcing the FDA to go on record about its involvement in the Trilateral charter.

As a congressman for 10 terms, Dr. Ron Paul has fought to protect your health freedom. Imagine what he will do as president.

Because I don't support fred. Let fred say something stupid, make a thread about him and I'll be there.

Have you ever had a straight forward discussion, or do you always play these childish games?

jaff......if you are a paul fan, then hopefully you have read my posts on his actual voting record.

he voted to sustain the schips veto

he voted against a safety measure in the railroad industry....

I report, you decide.

and I am surprised there isnt more of the bullshit here about how it was planned and all that.....

the names are very similar, so this wont be the only time it happens........and of course many of you didnt bullshit like this when teddy...(HICK!!!) kennedy did much worse......

but alas.......typical.

Damn , show me where the difference is ideologically as well as current mental state . They both hate the United States .osama obama bin boo boo , where is the difference ?
They are both lying pieces of crap .
Okay , okay , maybe obama does'nt have as many lice and fleas .

What is Mitt short for anyway?

Anyone remember when FOX schmews tried to make a big deal about the fact the Obama's middle name was Hussein? This is more of the same by right-wing idealogues trying to hold on to power. Romney new exactly what he was doing, as a matter of fact he realized he was saying Osama when he actually meant to slur Obama and changed mid word.

The only way the republicans can win this presidency is if Hillary gets the nod and they know that. Why do you think Limbaugh said Hillary was going to win?

Anyone but Hillary or a Republican 2008!!

Excuse me?

My entire post was about the very question I asked. How have I tried to not have a straight forward discussion?

Once again, I'll ask the same question (and if you aren't a Fred lover who questions Obamas experience, then this obviously IS NOT for you).

Why do many here question Obamas experience when Fred Thompson has the same if not less due to his last five years of political inactivity?

How does the experience of Fred Thompson have anything to do about the experience of Obama? Axion is correct. It is a childish rebuttal.

The amount of experience that Obama has worked for Lincoln. Add 8 years as VP and looks like we have the Presidency forcasted out until 2024.

I guess only time will tell and you are enititled to your own opinion.

Because I don't support fred. Let fred say something stupid, make a thread about him and I'll be there.

"Fred Thompson came to the offices of National Review some years when he was still in the Senate. I liked him fine. He has done nothing, anywhere, ever. The Hubble Telescope could not find what he has done, because he has not done it.

It would be unwise to put such a man in the White House at this moment in history."*
