Nobody has ever seriously accused Rudy of taking religion too seriously. I mean, aside form following the injunctions of Leviticus and tredding by way of marrying his cousin into the footpaths of Zelophehad's five daughters, the daughter's of Eleazar, Jacob and Rachel and Leah, Isaac and Rebekkah (ancestors, one and all, of Jesus H. Christ). But he takes it seriously enough. Especially with an election looming. So it is not surprising that---and he can certainly be forgiven (as Christ forgave those who owed him money) for---salivating over the buckled shoes of a roomfull of Bible-thumping ignorami, in order to "swing" their votes his way. Which is not easy, for a cross-dressing former mayor of New Yawk.

May I, me, myself, solely speaking for myself, be so bold as to venture an opinion that "I don't always agree with myself" is an expression of such razor-sharp existential angst that it positively blows "the definition of 'is' is" right off the parchment of history's book of fables?

Yes, thank you, I do so venture.

This is of course where the term "two faced" comes from. Most politicians(sorry) meet themselves coming and going. Neither aspect should be believed.

Rudy: Disagrees with Himself

me too.

I once got into such an angry argument with myself that I refused to talk to myself for 3 weeks. I finally made up, and thankfully I was gracious enough to accept the apology.

:-)

Isn't there a psychiatric term for this?

I think it's schizophrenia.

Or perhaps he's just your typical politician who changes his opinion depending on where he's speaking.

Either way, I wouldn't vote for him.

Abortion?

If it's not911, then Rudy has nothing to offer the 'values voters' (aka the biggest hypocrites around).

FF for Bowa - especially considering the context!

etc.

In the 1980's, rocker Billy Idol was reported to have danced with himself.

His belief in God is at the core of his being, but he sometimes disagrees with himself.

Therefore he should be President.

Sir Rudy (Pander) Giuliani

A true legend in his own mind.

For Giuliani, his speech was an important milestone in his search for the Republican presidential nomination. Giuliani supports abortion rights and has moderate views on immigration and gay rights.

Err what?

His views on immigration are moderate?

Horse shit!

You're an idiot. Please, stop voting.

idiot, maybe. But this was pretty damn funny. lighten up!

What?

He's arguing with himself-and losing?

Know Thine Enema"-and all that...(that's why he gets diarrhea of the mouth in front of "cunt"servative audiences-and blows his own cover.....)

Got to love the ignorant American masses who willing to believe any line of bullshit from a bullshit merchant.

"He recalled crossing himself during his first day of law school after 16 years of attending Catholic schools."

Really? Witnesses? Did he mention this in his time as mayor?

"My belief in God and reliance on his guidance is at the core of who I am, I can assure you of that,"

Well this is a billiant one. What does god tell him? Which god talks to him? How come god now talks to Rudi but didn't to Mother Theresa?

This is just the sort of shit spewed by the religious around the world to "fit in" in their "religious" communities. It's all fine and good for social networking and schmoozing up for the next job but this obviously so blatant lies about beig religious is a joke and has absolutely nothing pertinent with being a President.

And yes it disgusts me how Clinton and Obama go on about their "faith" as well but from Rudi its over the top. Rudi pretending to be a deeply reliigous man is far more ludicrous than Vanilla Ice pretending to be a rapper.

Seriously, when can we get religion out of politics? We might as well add science fiction and fantasy if we can't at least it is far better written.

Rudi - "The Elves from middle earth influence my decisions due to their goodness. I once petted a unicorn. The three rules of Robotics to rule them all!"

Rudi - "Chromatic Dragons want to kill you! I will not let Chromatic Dragons attack America. I am strong on Chromatic Dragon Defense +14. So help me God, Jesus, Mary and Joseph"

I assume there was celebratory touching involved when this issue was resolved?

I disagreed before I agreed to disagree myself.

Sincerely,

Rudy

You get a FF for that one.

"I don't always agree with myself."
And in that seemingly simple sentence, Rudy "Nine One One" Giuliani spake the first honest words ever uttered by a politician.

do we really need another wackjob in office? We should be criticizing and pinpointing every flaw a candidate has until we find a competent leader! Enough with the wacky bullshit!

Just gotta ask, how was the make-up sex?

btw, The talibaptists are going to Mitt. Apparently a bizarre cult is still better than pro-choice

Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, speaking Saturday night at a dinner in his honor, said he too believes starting a third party would fail. He pledged to vote for a minor-party candidate if both Democrats and Republicans nominate a candidate who supports abortion rights

James "Focus of the Funding" Dobson wants to split the right voteby supporting minor party evDEVILicals and Talibaptists? Go right to sez Spud. That'll keep the left in power fer decades to comes. Spud luffs the way religious whack job control freaks like Dobson always couch their true intention behind the laffable notion that they actually represent "family values" rather than extremist, divisive religious positions. See also: Tony "Psycho" Perkins of the "Family Research Council", who sponsored this straw poll nonsense.

Be Well.

PS:I once got into such an angry argument with myself that I refused to talk to myself for 3 weeks

Spud has an on again off again relationship wif hisself too.

Like the old poem sez...

"I love myself
I think I'm grand
I go to movies
Hold my hand
Then slip my arm
around my waist
And then get fresh
and slap my face"

Gee, maybe I shoulda read ALL the posts...

I believe that
God currently holds that record with over a dozen flags for a one word post in the Jerry Falwell Dies thread from May.

"Who?"

and here is the annual "paul" report.....

voting record from last week reported by the houston chronicle of all local lawmakers.....

reporters confidential scources.......shiled reporters from most attempts by the feds to reveal sources........paul voted NO......

internet tax ban.....extend ban on taxation of services that provide access to internet.....
yes would pass the bill.......paul voted yes

railroad safety.....tougher federal standards for safety.....work hours and railroads would have to submit plans to reduce injuries.....
a yes vote passed the bill paul voted NO!!!!

and the big one....

to override the pres on schip.

PAUL VOTED............NO!!!!!!!!!!!

so now answer the two questions.

why does paul hate all those railroad workers and how can he see to it that millions of little babies are left to die with no health care??????????

Another GOP hypocrite pandering this time to the invisible being in the sky when he says he prays and asks for guidance. What kind of person has the audacity to ask the God of the bible to change his "perfect plan" for Giuliani an admitted sinner? He must have one heck of an ego.

I have found that anyone who says "Trust me" really can't be trusted.

from a few lines up...

I love the child-like notion A). of a Personal God, that some people never seemed to have grown out of...it is quite amusing given all the tidal waves, earthquakes, extinctions, diseases, plagues, tornados, starvations, and whatnot striking the planet every year killing millions worldwide. Everyone hears about these, but they don't seem to ever register; and then you hear about one idiot who was lucky, and got struck by a car, died, and then (against all odds) came back to life, and you have droves of buffoons line up on their knees thinking it was "divine intervention". Sagan was right, this truly is a "Demon Haunted World" .B). I love the notion that God, IF He exists, would actually give a Hoot about what happens to one planet in a backwater portion of the universe, and that one third of America is so far down the wrong track that they not only think God has nothing better to do, but that He/She/It actually would be listening in on our totally corrupt election system or our prayers for winning Power Ball Lottery Tickets. Of course, these are probably the same people that dress up in Armor as "Warriors for God", and sit around avidly praying (like good little zealots) that I and anyone that thinks independantly from them will hopefully be (Left Behind) when the Rapture finally occurs. C). and finally I love how the Republican Leadership has the fundamentally faithful so entirely snowballed, that they can't even see that 90% of their own parties leadership stopped believing in God sooooooooooooo long ago, that Methusaleh would have still been alive and would have invited them to dinner to talk about it.

Bravo, Right-Wing Corporately Owned Religious Panderers to the Mentally Infirm, Bravo...

Yes Bravo, (claps wildly), bravo...

Just one little thing...(motions for the Corporate Sellout to come closer)...in your hurry to snowball
the 1/3rd of the American Public than can no longer think independantly for themselves outside of a Fox News Broadcast, or a Rush Limbaugh radio program, you've forgotten that you are actually sending this nation, if I may coin an often used phrase, "to hell in a handbasket", faster than the speed of $$$ at the gas pump...

Yes, I know, I know Mr. Tighty Righty...I'm sure to
be "Left Behind"....but that's o.k. Because if you all are going there, it's definitely the preferable option...just remember to pack your Marshmallow roasting gear!!

Rudy: I was for myself before I was against myself....

MrFair:
Bob Jones and this guy
The Rev. Don Wilton, pastor of First Baptist Church, said Thursday he was considering endorsing the former Massachusetts governor's bid for the White House. Romney, a Mormon, met with Wilton during his campaign swing through town.

On Friday morning, the Romney campaign issued a press release touting Wilton's endorsement.

Officials at First Baptist say 7,000 people belong to the church, making it the largest Southern Baptist congregation in South Carolina.
