"Vatican teaching holds that homosexual activity is a sin."

from above article....

"Mercy and compassion are two very important qualities, but love is the greatest of all."

by some non christian nutcase

The priest is apparently saying that he is a psycho-analyst and it was an experiment to test gay behavior and deal with the sin of homosexuality.

Wow- why didn't Larry Craig think of this? He must be kicking himself, or tapping himself, or something.

Apparently it stung.

That's as bad as someone working for Al Gore saying that the oceans won't rise over 20 feet in the next hundred years.

Yeah, cuz disagreeing with al gore while working for him is the same as trying to fuck a child, isn't it? You rotten partisan turd...

Let me put it in terms you'd understand, bowa.

Bowa equates lying with pedophilia?

There's a headline for ya, douchebag.

" pedophilia? " "trying to fuck a child "
Where in the article did you read the " young man "
was under age ?

"Don't condemn me," Stenico said, adding that the program "was done fraudulently" because it used a hidden camera.

Too funny!

La7 then filmed encounters between the man and the priests with a hidden camera.

Apparently the Vatican has a problem with gay priests. Who'd have thunk.

This isn't news everyone expects this sort of thing from them, don't they?

Sister Mary Elephant is going to make this wayward priest write "I am not a homo" 1000 times on a blackboard.

The Spirit is willing, but the Flesh is weak.

Whatever that means.

That's as bad as someone working for Al Gore saying that the oceans won't rise over 20 feet in the next hundred years.

Or someone supporting Rudy saying Kerik is a mobbed up crook.
What's your take on kerik and Rudy, Bowa?

Interesting read, Bani. The person who assembled the information certainly was highly motivated to expend such great effort.

The description of "historical Christianity" and its justifications and excesses, and use for "worldly goals" that are antithetical to the well-being of people dominated by an all-powerful clergy, seems to parallel the situation of Islam today. The rallying power of the religious ideology and the harm to be wrought on those who are not members of or do not subscribe or defer to the powerful theologicans, is remarkable similar and quite as bloody. The religious "justifications" for such conduct command that "others' be targeted and harmed as a demonstration of the virtue of the believer.

It seems as if people are hard-wired for a belief system that accepts the supernatural and need to be disabused of these beliefs generation by generation if religious thinking is not to regain preeminence. In the default by one generation, the system can be reestablished. Note the situation in Russia, where after decades of repression of the Orthodox Church, it has arisen unregenerate and as degenerate as ever from the ashes, and is again exerts great secular power. The Roman Catholic Church in Poland has also "risen again," and it also now exercises great power in that country. Even China is confronted with a problem of resurgence of religious belief and practice.

It appears that the restoration of religious preeminence is inevitable as it is a default position, and installation of "believers" in power, or the acquisition of power by unscrupulous non-believers, who manipulate the believers, will result in absolute power again being wielded by artful securists or the mad religionists.

Religion provides "communion" and community in a very basic sense for people seeking to belong with and share with, support and receive support from other people. It may be a symbolic return to our tribal roots and reenactment of a way of life that we found congenial. Such drives and practices would have fostered positive social interactions and enabled societies to delvelop. Maybe there is inherent in human nature, the seeds of our own destruction which cohabit with those traits and characteristics that enable us to build civilized societies. quite a tension. Maybe the dialectic is rooted in human nature rather than in the physical world.

Hidden cameras in the Vatican?

Encouragement of celibacy as a virtue rather than as a blatant perversion of human nature has influenced some people who internalize these abstractions to commit themselves to abstention from sexual intercourse and thus prevent their reproduction.

Among the accomplishments of Immanuel Kant and Isaac Newton have been lives as celibates. What a goal? What an "achievement." Well, they died without issue, and so their genius and abilitis did not occur in succeeding generations. There were no succeeding generations.

Nuttiness.

I have heard that the Catholic Church is having a hard time recruiting new priests.

If the Vatican actually cleaned house of all "problem" priests and related orders, they would be short just how many more?

In thr US, in a single diocese there have, at the same time, hundreds of cases filed. The payouts to settle these cases in just one state have reached the billion dollar range. As those of you with faculties intact will remember, there are another 49 states.

Does anyone really think that this problem is restricted to only the US?

Well, they died without issue, and so their genius and abilitis did not occur in succeeding generations. There were no succeeding generations.

yes, genius can only be reproduced by blood & sexual intercourse alone...no love or past lives have any influences at all:>)

catholics are predominately liberals.

The tenor of that post, and that sentence in particular, is hilarious.

Oh, yeah, China's biggest problems are the Falun Gong and the Dalai Lama. God forbid there should be any "religious resurgence" in a holier-than- thou atheistic paradise like that.

it's tough to have a wide stance when you're wearing a cassock

Hey Rogers there was a story last week about Catholic church in Poland kicking nuns out of a Convent.

Given your record on posting Anti Catholic stuff how did you miss it ?

Afterwards, he got together with Larry Craig!

Its only a sin if you get caught...

Who'd name their son Sex Sting?

Now I'm not saying where Pope John Paul II ended up, but this picture makes me wonder:
