All these "rights" of which people speak are rights based upon the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights, therefore, if my thought processes are correct (which I believe they are) these rights are only conferred upon citizens of the United States (ie not Ahmadinejad or me for that matter seeing as I am not a citizen). So, please 'splain to me Lucy where Ahmadinejad has any rights under the US Constitution or the Bill of Rights to say things that most rational thinking people find obnoxious in a University, funded by the government, on US soil. ALL persons in this country (legally and illegally) are entitled to human rights. However, those not U.S. citizens do not have (and nor should they) any of the civil rights accorded to U.S. citizens under our Constitution and Bill of Rights. At some point the poster decided to attack my homeland as being under the yoke of royalty and yet no one answered my question which basically centered on the "civil rights" conferred under the bill of rights being reserved for US Citizens. WHile I too believe that all humans on the planet have certain rights, one cannot confer the protections of the bill of rights to persons who choose not to seek citizenship of this country. Why are we wasting time on anything Iran says about Israel when the threat is about world oil supplies?

There are a dozen more important issues then Israel vis a vis Iran and I think the only reason so many people immediately go to the Israel issue is it has a particular appeal that frankly aims at the worst in people.

I can't recall another president (or prime minister) of a country in the news at the moment that is as willing to face his critics.

In light of Ahmadinejab's comments about the lack of gay people in Iran I think that President Bollinger's decision to allow him to speak paid off quite well. Preventing him from speaking would have indicated to the world that America is afraid of something he might say. As it turned out America looked stronger and Ahmadinejad looked crazier.

This language "all men are created equal" was used to establish the basic right of the Founders to form the U.S. and to ensure its citizens were considered equal (don't ask me how the slaves felt about this.) It does not apply to Mr. Ahmedinejad. He has no right to speak here, but he is allowed here as a courtesy. As it turns out, his speech at this venue (Columbia) has enabled more people to see what kind of dangerous knucklehead we are looking at.

I think you are wrong about that Mr. FAir. Pres. Ahmadinejad had the right to freedom of speech, he did not though have a right to speak at Columbia University. That was a privelege granted to him by the President of that university. Had he not be been granted the privelege of speaking there he could have stood out on the street just like me or you and said whatever he wanted to say.

These rights are NOT "granted" by the Constitution. The Constitution is there to remind the Government (which we the people created) that these rights are reserved to the People. You do NOT have to be American to have these rights. But as Americans we are trying to make sure that ALL humans have these rights that we have determined to be "self"evident".

I would hope that your "gash"/"bitch" has enough sense to see what a boorish insecure fraud you are. First off, from what I've read Iran does not consider transsexuals gay. They consider it a curable curse. They have a lot of operations to "rectify" the situation. Besides, this guy runs Iran. I doubt any muslim nation wants to openly accept they have gays, and especially doesn't want them running around in the open and on TV like the US. Saudi Arabia doesn't like the gays much either but you don't see no one grilling them when they come to visit the US and hold hands with Bush.

Anyway, there are so many more issues at hand that need immediate attention. And if you hate the guy so much, why invite him to speak at your school? Hypocrites!!!
