Federal prosecutors are investigating whether employees of the private security firm Blackwater USA illegally smuggled into Iraq weapons that may have been sold on the black market and ended up in the hands of a U.S.-designated terrorist organization, officials said Friday.

Not all Blackwater employees are American citizens, they hire just about any kook with an itchy trigger finger. But any way you look at it, it is treason.

Why is it called black water anyways, does it relate to sewer water full of shit in anyway? Anyways, this criminal orgainzation is again free to take pot shots at Iraqies withou any accountability. The "sovereign" (sock puppet) government of Iraq can not do anything, at least for now. Apparently they are drafting a law to counter a provisional government order protectiing shitwater.

The US is arming insurgents just like Iran. Yet we still maintain a holier than thou mentality.

Priceless.

I think they had orders from the Petreaus command. That part is sure to be covered up.

Oh no! How dare you say bad things about the Holy and Sacred General Petreasu !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quick, let's get the Senate to condemn Ray's comment !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't the death pentalty still in place for shit like this?

Chimpy has 360 tons of 100 dollar bills delivered to the insurgents and his solution is to exchange weapons in order to get some of those c-notes back. Pathetic.

Bush's own private "hire-a-thug" mercenary army is at it again -- makes ya proud, huh?

Christ on a cracker!
It's not enough to make billions in "cost-plus"-no bid contracts? They just HAVE to make a few million more selling arms on the black market?

Mercenaries screwing us over for money? I don't believe it!!!

This is normal. Nothing to see here. Move along. Oh, by the way, Bush needs another $200 Billion for the war. (Your taxes may increase, but at least you're safe from terrorism.)

Vern? Incubus? Chair? Goatboy?
Nobody got shit to say?...
Chimpy McStupid is gonna invade Iran for the same thing his thugs are doin.

How does this shit pass?

Sombody reassure me that the weapons Bush blames Iran for running are not in fact being supplied to the insergents by Blackwater with "made in Iran" scribbled on em in crayolas as a pretext to launch his next bogus invassion.

i admittedly haven't done a lot of homework on this but i recall hearing that cheney had something to do with blackwater early on.

"Blackwater grew out of an exploration launched by Dick Cheney when he was still secretary of defense. Cheney commissioned from Halliburton a study of "how to privatize the military bureaucracy." Soon after, Cheney himself became the CEO of Halliburton; and when he returned to government, the Iraq war gave him the chance to reduce to a practice the lessons of that study."

go figure

Your taxes may increase, but at least you're safe from terrorism.

Actually, if that was true, I'd be OK with it. Instead, Dub's just signing our name on a big fat IOU to China and paying out the money to his cronies while doing almost nothing about terrorism.

I can't wait to see the movie! this stuff is incredible...I envision something like V for Vendetta with Star Wars Technology and weaponry except without our superhero V to save us from ourselves...and the bad guys win because we can't do anything about it.

Seems to me that Blackwater is about the same size as our troop deployment of about 130,000. Interesting that we have allowed an Army the size of our own to grow. A Mercenary Army...

And then there is the saga of Patraeus Maximus come back to the Councils of the Senate to plead the case for War...with a Mercenary Army at his side...

Like I said. I can't wait to see the movie.

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

We live in an "Era of Accusations" but all these accusations and criminal allegations, especially in reference to "wrong doing" by the US Govt in Iraq pass over quickly like so much hot air.No its not because these criminal accusations and allegations are unfounded, its because theres no one,no auhority in the entire world that can even indict the Bush Govt.and its conspirators, let alone prosecute and punish them.

We may all soon be watching the video. Not "V for Vendetta" but "B for Blackwater." Reporting has begun that a video of the entire incident exists.

With all of the control this administration has over in Iraq, even the media, when things like this get out they are usually true.

It is funny that so many rightie tighties just don't understand that der leader is in control of the media there.

Blackwater is back on the job. Condi told Maliki that only sovereign nations get to decide who stays in their country, colonies don't.

This should about finish off the Fighty Righty's claims that bush actually wanted to liberate Iraq, not just annex its oil fields.

Why is it called black water anyways,

Or BushCorruptium FalsaCronyum.

Look at the Bio of Erik Prince, Blackwater's founder. Also check out the Prince and DeVos (Amway) link. devos.wordpress.com

Scary! Is the USA a nation of laws???

OR a nation of billionaires above the law?

We need another Theodore Roosevelt. A president like him would ideally be a Republican but with the current state of the GOP we might as well wish for a Salvation Army woman in a whorehouse. With the honorable exception of Ron Paul who has no chance the current lot are all Bush but not so stupid.

I honestly don't think Bush himself, unlike Cheney, is all that corrupt though he's not lily white either. It's his stupidity, laziness and incuriosity which has allowed corruption to flourish around him.

"The US is arming insurgents just like Iran. Yet we still maintain a holier than thou mentality."

I have no love for current the administration. That they will most likely avoid accountability for their crimes against this country is very disturbing.

Nor do I have any love for a theocracy who encourages people to chant "Death to America" in religious services on a daily basis. It isn't a case of being holier than thou. It is a recognition of another government's attempt at brainwashing their population to murder people of a particular ethnic group, to which I belong. And this is only one example of such behavior on that government's part.

Sully -- I wonder what's so secret about the radical theocrat billionaires in America, that nobody exposes the hypocrisy of what they are doing? Blackwater's CEO is a DeVos (Amway) theocrat, with access to hundreds of millions and no constraints on what he does in the name of "entrepreneurship". Part of the Coors fortune finances Dick Cheney's empire of right wing think tanks. And Richard Mellon Scaife in Pittsburgh has a wonderful rap sheet of right wing hits. Who would ever dare to stop a billionaire who is on the ins with VP Cheney?

Note Blackwater USA and the American Enterprise Institute are just the tip There are a hundred other wealthy oligarchs who are funneling hundreds of millions of dollars to finance private military causes and political propaganda operations. All of this private wealth generally flies under the radar of public scrutiny.

All of our major national politicians are beholden to one group of wealthy power brokers or another. That this administration is in cahoots with the most destructive towards this country is very disturbing.

The simple solution is to start voting for those who's campaigns have the least money. The less money they have, the less they have sold out. But voting for people who aren't beholden to private interests that are working against the majority of Americans is a waste, or so I'm told.

When in doubt, I'm just going to vote for candidates I haven't seen on TV.

I'm shocked that there's a chance heavily-armed, bought-and-paid-for, hired gun mercs might smuggle weapons into Iraq and sell them for money.

This seems like a good time for Bush to impliment his recent Executive order regarding asset siezure...

Oh wait it's a "Corporation"; they can do whatever they want...

No one could have ever predicted that a mercenary army would be loyal only to the highest bidder.

And of course Condi had to tell the soverign government of Iraq to stuff it and accept Blackwater. We don't have enough troops to take over the role that Blackwater does.
Bush's military is stretched so thin that we can't secure one small country without hiring foreign mercs who stab us in the back.
