Where's a good website for vetting Mucous-ey?

Bowa will be wetting himself in joy-this guy works for Rudy's campaign.

When will we find out he's a coke dealer or whore master?

will this presidency never end? I think I would vote for Kermit the Frog at this point.

I think I would vote for Kermit the Frog at this point.

Kermit is actually a toad and has never been in a swamp. Guiliani's gowns are better than Miss Piggy's too.

Swamp Boat Veterans for Rudy.

Another obvious post by North. (Wow! Clever! Rudy in a dress! That's new and refreshing!)

back to the subject .........

Bush wimped out again. Olsen is a much better jurist, but Bush didn' have the stomach to stand up for the guy.

Mukasey is OK, but it's an easy vote and signals that Bush is just marking time now til the end of his term.

Hey Vern: Saw Han's reposting of your $30 a barrel oil price prediction. Where can I buy me some? Or were the batteries in your calculator dead again?
And how goes the Mexican-American war? As you pointed out, we haven't won it yet. I asked Zat, but he never replied- I'm afraid they got him.

North:

Yeah, I'm off on the timing. that's the problem with forecasting. But that price will return.

What's the matter? Your thin skin getting pricked because I pointed out that most of your posts are stupid, banal, obvious and repetitive?

Kermit the Frog would probably be a tree hugging ex hippie pot smoking libertarian.

Kermit the Frog is only second in good looks to Mitt Romney, the made for TV president.

Kermit the Frog has not suffered as many hardships as John McCain, but Miss Piggy has broken his heart from time to time.

Kermit has not governed New York like Hillary or Mr. Spaghetti. But he has done an incredible job on the set of Sesame Street.

Kermit the Frog would not be the only politician running for office with a giant hand up his ass.

Kermit the Frog would lose in the midwest because of his skin color. We don't like your Frog kind in these parts, mister, and we vote! Just ask Osama and Georgie!

"I'm off on the timing. that's the problem with forecasting. But that price will return."

Much the same way that enough monkeys typing will eventually produce A Tale of Two Cities. Or, in this case and on a much shorter schedule, posts smarter than Vernon's.

"Olsen is a much better jurist, but Bush didn' have the stomach to stand up for the guy."

*sigh*...just another in a long line of posters who don't understand Robert's Rules of Order and the votes required to do what the opposition doesn't want.

What's the matter? Your thin skin getting pricked because I pointed out that most of your posts are stupid, banal, obvious and repetitive?

Vernon i'd never dare to step into your monopoly.

You'll see oil at $30 a barrel again? God has oil wells up There? Remember, with the dollar in free fall, $30 oil is now $40 oil.

What's the matter with you? Your lips chapped because he pointed out that your posts are wildly inaccurate, fanciful, even delusional?

It dew look like Bush isn't up to his usual in-your-face appointments.

Bush picked his nose and found what? Oh, never mind, read that headline wrong.

will this presidency never end? I think I would vote for Kermit the Frog at this point.

He is running for president in 2008 as the candidate for the Green Party.

member: Kermit's in political trouble-he was apparently caught hanging around an airport men's washroom checking out the flies and licking his lips.

We'll see how well he handles this one:

Federal Prosecutor Arrested In Child Sex Sting

EDT September 17, 2007

DETROIT -- A U.S. Justice Department official has been arrested on suspicion of traveling to Detroit over the weekend to have sex with a minor.

John David R. Atchison, 53, an assistant U.S. attorney from the northern district of Florida, was arraigned in U.S. District Court in Detroit Monday afternoon.

An undercover officer posed as a mother offering her child to Atchison for sex, according to police.

Prosecutors said Atchison flew from Pensacola, Fla., to Detroit on Sunday intending to have sex with the 5-year-old girl.

He was arrested at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

He is charged with enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity.

According to authorities, Atchison made contact with a detective working undercover for the Macomb County Sheriff's department's.

The detective, acting as the child's mother, allegedly arranged a sexual encounter between Atchison and her 5-year-old daughter, police said.

In deposition, detectives said Atchison suggested the mother tell her daughter that "you found her a sweet boyfriend who will bring her presents."

The undercover detective expressed concern about physical injury to the 5-year-old girl as a result of the sexual activity. Detectives said Atchison responded, " I am always gentle and loving; not to worry, no damage ever, no rough stuff ever. I only like it soft and nice."

The undercover detective asked how Atchison can be certain of no injury. He responded, "Just gotta go slow and very easy. I've done it plenty," according to detectives.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Department and the FBI were a part of the investigation.

I can't help but inquire, was this guy ever being considered for a spot on Gonzo's list of replacements for any of those U.S. Attorneys he fired?

This could get very ugly, very fast.

It seems that Mr. Atchison was also the president of the local recreation board in his home town of Gulf Breeze, FL where he also coached youth soccer and little league baseball.

Bush probably lacks the stomach for one last big fight. If thios guy is not 88 degrees on the wrong side of atrocious, he'll surely have smooth sailing. How much damage can he do in the remaining 16 months? herm

Bowa will be wetting himself in joy-this guy works for Rudy's campaign.

It can't hurt to have the AG on your team.

:-)

Bush probably lacks the stomach for one last big fight

he's only interested in one fight -- funding for Iraq -- and he's winning.

Though I am sure if one of the remaining liberal supreme court justices step down, he will have quite the stomach for that battle as well.

"I am sure if one of the remaining liberal supreme court justices step down, he will have quite the stomach for that battle as well."

A battle he'll lose, as anyone familiar with Robert's Rules of Order would know. There'll be no more Robertses or Alitos.

I'll stick to my guns. I strongly sense that Dubya is tired of it all and wants to finish these eight years as soon as possible 'cause there's new brush on the Crawford ranch. If there's a court vacancy before then, it will remain a vacancy until the next prez fills it. herm

HERM:

I strongly sense that Dubya is tired of it all

Strange you should say that. I got the same impression after listening to Bush say the most ridiculous things in his Oval Office speech. My first thought was "Well wadda ya' know . . . he's quit."

Given up.
Treading water.
Tuned out.
Going through the motions.
Zoned.

I'll take a wild guess and say that the people on Bush's staff who analyze these things have told him no uncertain terms that the jig is up . . . that the House, the Senate and the Oval office are lost to the GOP in 2008.

The decide-er-er has decided. He's quit!

If you thought Stu Bykovsky's call for a new 9/11 was the lowest the Neo-Cons could sink, think again. Yeah you are about 7 years too late.

Don't worry, oil will be less than $30 once the crusty old pertroleum based thinking of the republitards is purged from Washington and alternative energy forms can be developed.

Until that day look for $100 per barrell.

Don't worry, oil will be less than $30 once the crusty old pertroleum based thinking of the republitards is purged from Washington and alternative energy forms can be developed.

It will get to under $30/bbl when developing countries such as China and India decide they want off the economic boom train. Don't count on that happening. Or when a deposit equaling twice Prudhoe bay, NaKika, and the Middle East combined is discovered.

Only a fool would think that politics can buck basic supply and demand laws and bring oil back down to $30/bbl.

Current alternative energy sources are self defeating in that they provide a negative economic feedback. I.E., they are too expensive to develop, so if oil is at $30/bbl, no one wants the alternative. They go with the cheaper oil. Oil becomes more in demand and goes up in price. ALternatives are once again affordable until oil goes down again, etc. We have to run out of the stuff first before alternative forms of energy make a serious dent in the economy. We are at that point or will be at it very, very soon.

Don't worry, oil will be less than $30 once the crusty old pertroleum based thinking of the republitards is purged from Washington

How 'tarded can they be? The liberals all say they are manipulating the oil prices to line their own pockets and the pockets of their cronies, while you are paying the high price.

Who's the 'tarded one in this equation? They sound pretty clever to me.

Just as any good con man knows not to pick a rube with more intellegece than they have.

or intelligence

Question: Has there been an Orthodox Jew as Attorney-General before?

From my standpoint as a older-school Republican I don't like this pick, but then again its a Bush pick so that now is a forgone conclusion. Perhaps I am the only one here that might see it this way--

Mukasey once wrote--

"the hidden message in the structure of the Constitution -- is that the government it establishes is entitled, at least in the first instance, to receive from its citizens the benefit of the doubt. If we keep that in mind, then the spirit of liberty will be the spirit which, if it is not too sure that it is right, is at least sure enough to keep itself -- and us -- alive."

Mukasey essentially supports the Constitution in its government building capacity, but that is negated by his relative disdain for the Bill of Rights-- something that Thomas Jefferson worried that the lack of in the Constitution as it was originally ratified would come back and haunt the nation. Fortunately, the Bill of Rights was passed four years later.

Mukasey has this to say about the Bill of Rights--

"A bill of rights was omitted from the original Constitution over the objections of Patrick Henry and others. It may well be that those who drafted the original Constitution understood that if you give equal prominence to the provisions creating the government and the provisions guaranteeing rights against the government -- God-given rights, no less, according to the Declaration of Independence -- then citizens will feel that much less inclined to sacrifice in behalf of their government, and that much more inclined simply to go where their rights and their interests seem to take them."

It is this unbelievably faulty reasoning that has me concerned about this nomination. Contrary to what Mukasey states, men in power, (Jefferson once said) should never be given "the benefit of the doubt" because they are inherently disposed to take advantage of their power and they must necessarily be reigned in by "the chains of the Constitution". Mukasey will no doubt favor rulings that allow for things such as "preventative dentention"-- which is decidedly anti-American and against the Bill of Rights which was ratified to protect citizens against the very things that Mukasey seems to support. so in a nutshell, same ol' same ol'....
