Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The President tries to rally the country with good news on Iraq, but some Republicans question why he took the risk. "Why would he threaten the momentum we have?" says one frustrated Capitol Hill Republican strategist with ties to the GOP leadership. "You have an unpopular President going onto prime time television, interrupting Americans' TV programs, to remind them of why they don't like him."

Iraq is like a Wack-a-Mole Game. Iraqis don't want to be blown away by American FirePower, so they pop up wherever and whenever that's less likely to happen. The fact that its quiet in Anbar for a while means nothing. Bush still had to stay inside a heavily fortified military base, one of fourteen on the drawing board. Shock and Awe has destroyed water, sewers, electricity and oil production. Continued vioolence has prevented reconstruction, while corruption and insider profits reach the stratosphere. What a fucking disaster. As the little Iraqi girl said when she got off the plane, "Mr. Bush, why did you destroy my country"?

Get over it, Republicans.

Don't buy the hype of liberals and dems.

To that little girl, the reply should be: Don't you know that Uday cannot rape you or girls like you anymore? --- Uday is known to pick school girls for his private pleasures.

Don't you know that Uday cannot rape you or girls like you anymore?

Instead you can die of cholera.

Brilliant.

Nutcase makes the point Bush evades---Isn't the history of teh Insurgency that they go away while the heat is on and come back when teh coast is clear?

In conventional warfare the same thing is done. If you know there will be an artillery strike on your line, you move your line back, so shells fall on nothing.

Didn't McCain suggest Bush come on the tube twice per week to tell us how everything is going in Iraq? Of course, that should have started a number of years ago.

But that would only be useful if Bush had anything to really say about the war, if he could ever climb down from teh game-playing and propaganda.

But, FDR he's not. Hell, Warren G. Harding he's not.

But, FDR he's not.

Thank god for that. FDR and LBJ did mor to socalize this country than anyone else in our history.

Frankly, I'd be afraid Bush would get on the air and justify the Iraq war by comparing it to the crime rate in Philadelphia, as Red State jackasses are doing this very day.

"Thank God for that....."

Can you IMAGINE what the world would be like if Bush were president 1941-1944?

I'm sorry. Franklin died in 1945. One hears the entire nation mourned his passing.

Bush Speech Rankles Some Repubs

Oh Bush did fine. They should get over themselves.

And compared to that 'elmer fudd", Jack Reed, the democrats put forward in response, Bush appeared, resolved, presidential, and straightforward.

Couple his speech, with the Petreous/Crocker testimony and it adds up to more funding of the troops for at least 6-8 more months.

"Bush appeared resolved...."

Bush appeared like a liar or a fool promising to draw down forces for "success" everyone knew he had to draw down.

Just a question---Why does Bush HAVE to behave like the rest of us are stupid?

Some politicians(sorry) were kept in dark entirely...

Keith, that is a great picture.

No doubt the Donkey is blaming his predicament on Bush.

Thank god for that. FDR and LBJ did mor to socalize this country than anyone else in our history.

Reagan did that.

The Donkey voluntarily fell into the Republican well.

The libs, Moveon.hate, Madonna, Dixie Chicks, Shawn Penn, Streisand, Sarandon, and others pooled money together to rescue the donkey. Now it wears a skirt in the form of Pelosi and looking to morph into Hillary.

"No doubt the Donkey is blaming his predicament on Bush."

The tragedies created by Bush are much bigger than a donkey in a well. Thousands of American lives wasted in Iraq after asshole sent them there without anything approaching a real plan. Couldn't of been more careless with their lives. Mind as well killed them himself. The only people who still support Bush are those who apparently believe the President of the United States isn't responsible for anything.

Sully says: Couldn't of been more careless with their lives. Mind as well killed them himself. The only people who still support Bush are those who apparently believe the President of the United States isn't responsible for anything.

Just ask Boehner.

Somebody should point out to Bush that the majority of Americans have clued in to his lies about Iraq and have learned not to trust him or anyone in his Administration.

Like the Deciderer-in Chief himself said "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, won't get fooled again".

Sniper whines about FDR and LBJ, but FDR was a great miltary winner and even LBJ defeated the Dominicans.
And neither had to bribe their enemies into not attacking US troops, something Bush has been reduced to doing in order to put a Potemkin Village Victory on the surge. Even Chamberlian didn't pay Hitler off, like Bush is paying off the sunnis.
And the Fighty Rightys consider this policy a "success".
Pathetic.

And the unspeakable consequences of this was...

OCU

Would you say the Great Society has been a success?

Yes.

Countless millions were lifted from abject poverty, and Americans of all racial backgrounds have been given the opportunity to achieve the American dream. Medicare saved millions of seniors from an early death.

Bill Clinton was the initiater and advocate of Welfare Reform, and created surpluses which would have paid down the national debt. Prosperity was real and real inflation adjusted wages climbed.

George Bush turned the ship around and has lowered the standard of living and inflation adjusted wages, while increasing spending and debt to new and lofty levels we'll probably never dig out from under. Prosperity was an illusion paid for on a credit card.

Bush's speech rankled me I can't believe anyone trust anything that comes out of his lying mouth. Americans are stupid if they buy his shit again. We are bogged down in a quagmire in Iraq and BushCo's only way out as the neocon's see it is war with Iran.

Oh Bush did fine. They should get over themselves.

I am surprised (not at Bowa of course) that there has not been more comment about the strangeness of Bush's appearance and delivery. He appeared to be heavily made up, yet almost without lips. The sound of his voice is more monontonous than ever. There has to be some serious medication going on there, whatever it is.

Thank god for that. FDR and LBJ did mor to socalize this country than anyone else in our history.

Apparently, such socialization failed to reach all parts of the country.

Bush appeared, resolved, presidential, and straightforward.

Yikes. Bush is a an embarassment - a laughing stock in most of the world.

"Yikes. Bush is a an embarassment - a laughing stock in most of the world."

There's a certain symmetry there: Bowa is an embarrassment - a laughing stock in most of the Drudge.

Hans

Just a question---Why does Bush HAVE to behave like the rest of us are stupid?

He's so used to talking to those Republican townhall meetings, he's not used to talking to intelligent people.

A BURIED 60 Minutes INTERVIEW / INDICTMENT

The video employs clips from a 2004 "60 Minutes" Interview with 2001-2003 Secretary of the Treasury, Paul O'Neil. O'Neil,a Permanent Member of the then formed NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL (NSC), was eventually FIRED in 2003, for what he OPPOSED and witnessed in the Early days of the JUST elected 2001 Bush Whitehouse.
He was appalled at the Secrecy and Contradictions in the George Bush he thought he knew. It was apparent a new agenda was rolling...and he wanted NO part in it. War plans were in the works, long BEFORE the 911 World Trade Center attack. Far from a tragedy, 911 was an OPPORTUNITY for the Bush/Cheney White House to proceed with Plans.
