A cholera epidemic in northern Iraq has infected approximately 7,000 people and could reach Baghdad within weeks as the disease spreads through the country’s decrepit and unsanitary water system, Iraqi health officials said Tuesday.

What else can we inflict on those poor souls in Iraq.
Bush and Cheney should rot in hell.

CC - I don't know, maybe bring them some "special" blankets?

With the infrastructure destroyed it was only a matter of time before this happened. Paul Bremer can take credit for some more deaths.
He ought to be in prison.

Iraq is doing great with clean water I see, just another U.S. bungle of greatness.

Chalk one up for David P.

At least there's little chance of Iraqis electrocuting themselves in the bathtub, is there?
Give credit where credit is due.

LassAssmerican - Paul ain't "on the ground," and he hasn't been for some time. Try to keep, Ms. Bushapologista.

LASTAMERICAN demonstrates what total ignorance of the Iraq reconstruction effort looks like.
Give him a Medal of Freedom too.

Paul Bremer, single handedly, caused more deaths in Iraq than any other one human.
He shouldn't be in prison, he should be executed by a world tribunal. It was decisions made by him that caused much of the destruction and insurgency in Iraq. Well, him and Rummy together with Dumbya and Cheney. And Cheney....no excuse for him as is proven by that tape from 1994.

Uh-oh!

You've got ring around the cholera!

So lemme get this straight.

Aside from all the violence being caused by the civil war, the religious sectarian strife and the the resistance to the occupation. alongside sporadic electricity, a crippled economy, the AQ in their midst, and a host of other ills the Iraqis can now add cholera to their list of woes?

Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld all need to be sharing a jailcell right quick.

Be Well.

Don't have time to link now, but just google: "THE GREAT IRAQ SWINDLE" and print out the 12 pages and read it. Unbelieveable as to the depth of corruption and crime and theft from Bush on down. I''ve been pushing people to read it. don't normally do that but this one is a MUST READ. It's by "Rolling Stone" and you can pick it up in a number of places that have reprinted it. It will make you sick to your stomach what Bush and Cheney planned and apparenty have succeeded in doing.

DANNI

Here's a link. even Pat Buchanan thinks it stinks so bad what Bush has done he posted the article too.

"THE GREAT IRAQ SWINDEL"

ANYONE WHO THINKS BUSH HAS ONE OUNCE OF CREDIBILITY MUST READ THIS LINK. YOU WON'T AFTER YOU ARE DONE WITH READING IT.

misspelled "Swindle" above

I am sick and f'n tired of whining assholes putting blaim on the people on the ground doing the best trying to fix the problems and getting shot at and assholes in the states just complaining their not doing enough.

SHAME!

Save you mock outrage for a salient point. L. Paul Bremer scooted with his share of the missing $9 billion in Iraqi oil money years ago. The only time he could have been shot at is maybe, MAYBE as his plane was leaving Iraq for good.

But keep on spinning like a good little bushbot.

Cholera, if memory serves, arises when people consume fecal material, usually their own, in the common water supply.

So, after four years, the best we can do in Iraq is help create plague?

I agree, by the way, that Bremer likely got his share of that missing nine billion. I think Bush has his share, too. That would explain why he's always so damned casual about the money being gone.

Bush and Cheney NEVER WANTED IRAQ TO WORK.

If you look at who they put in charge, it certainly makes sense.

They put a 22 year old man in charge of the Iraqi stock market.

They put a 24 year old in charge of all traffic in Baghdad...a city the size of Los Angeles.

They out a 28 year old in charge of Public Health. His first initiative was a 'Quit Smoking' campaign. I guess all the other health hazards are so low that smoking is the only thing to worry about.

Do you really think these people were PUT IN CHARGE of these places to succeed?

Remember, they didn't just work there...they were in charge of the things I mentioned above.

22 year old in charge of the development of a stock market for a nation? PLEASE, most of you wouldn't even want your broker to be THAT young.

So, now we are going to quote the LIBERAL Rolling Stone as a legitimate source of info. Would you actually expect them to say anything other than Republicans=bad, liberals=good?

If you can prove any of those accusations without using a liberal blog or a liberal source I will be impressed.

SICKOFLIBS

You Bush apologists ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get out of the TRUTH by using the same old tired line -- it's a "liberal" website.

m going to take you up on the offer you postedr />

If you can prove any of those accusations without using a liberal blog or a liberal source I will be impressed.

And now you will not be able to get out of reading the article -- look at the SOURCE that published this "liberal article" in my 6:35 p.m. link on here -- PAT BUCHANAN -- hardly a Daily Kos liberal.

If it were lies and untruths Buchanan would never have linked "Rolling Stones" article.

Now -- as your PUNISHMENT :) -- you are required to print out all 12 pages and READ THE ARTICLE.

I will never respond to you again and your posts and any future defense posturing for Bush and Cheney you put out on here from now one will be meaningless until you read it. I say that because NO real American who loves this country could ever read it and not have their eyes opened to what has been the biggest lie, scandal and corruption committed by a U.S. President in our history.

You want proof? You want me to get quotes of Bremer "unable to account for the missing $9 BILLION" in the CPA? You want testimony given before Congress and Henry Waxman validating EVERYTHING IN THAT ARTICLE?

Don't make me go there.
Read "The Great Iraq Swindle" and come back and tell me what you thought about it. I PROMISE (and it will be hard but I give you my word) not to throw it in your face about Bush. JUST READ IT.

m going to take you up on the offer you postedr

First would should have been: "I'm"

Jesus. People in Iraq are now getting cholera and Bush is talking about how the surge is working and needs more time? WTF...

It's sad commentary that Saddam, an evil bastard, had a better infrastructure in his country than we, the strongest nation in the world, can provide after 4 years. Thanks for nothing once again, W, you pos.

Riiiight SICKOFLIBS, it's just a big lie by those lubruls at Rolling Stone.

All these people that were put in charge of rebuilding Iraq were not chosen by their experience or knowledge of the areas that they were to be in charge of, but rather whether or not the beleived in the religious and political idealologies of Bushco.

That is why it is so fucked up over there.

It is not that hard to understand when Bushco puts 22 year olds straight out of college in charge of the reconstruction soley based on their political ideals instead of experience and expertise.

Did anyone really expect anything other than this from Bush?

Everything he touches is rife with corruption and incompetence. You righties ought to be embarrassed to support him.

Bush earnestly thinks he has postive personal qualities that, somehow, no one else can observe. I remember that he bragged he is a "self-made man".

Am hearing Bush will announce a "limited draw-down " of American troops in Iraq and wonder if he refers to===

1) The draw-down we always knew must happen in May or so.

2) Something in advance of that.

In the first instance, I can only saw it takes a Bush to make a big deal out of obeying ordinary reality.

In the second instance, I wonder what would be in his pea brain to threaten what gains he may have made with the surge prematurely.

Jim,

I actually expected more than this from him, hell, I would of ANY president, but there are many people who run around dismissing others as Bush bashers. It's shit like this that has created the "Bush Bashers"......of which I am now a proud card carrying member....and even more proud of the fact that he NEVER got my vote.

I can only saw it takes a Bush to make a big deal out of obeying ordinary reality.

On the bright side, its the first contact Bush has had in dealing with reality and Iraq since 2002.

Israel and The US Christian Right must be very happy about that news!
