Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Sen. Larry Craig is reconsidering his decision to resign after his arrest in a Minnesota airport sex sting and may still fight for his Senate seat, his spokesman said Tuesday evening. "It's not such a foregone conclusion anymore, that the only thing he could do was resign," said Sidney Smith, Craig's spokesman in Idaho's capital.

Arlen Spector made a good case for this scenario on Fox News Sunday.

Interesting to learn Craig was already been on Bush's hit list for not being Republican enough prior to teh present scandal.

Yeah, the Republican DC establishment will love this being dragged out in the press until the 2008 elections.

Billy Martin, one of Craig's lawyers, said the senator's arrest in an undercover police operation in men's room of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport "raises very serious constitutional questions."

Martin, who represents Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick in his dogfighting case, said Craig "has the right to pursue any and all legal remedies available as he begins the process of trying to clear his good name."

I bet Craig's lawyer will do as good of a job clearing his name as he did for his other client, Michael Vick.

This guy sucks at making decisions.

Pick one, fucker.

Please please please don't resign. The new season of Saturday night Live hasn't even started yet;

Whether he has legal options isn't really the point. He's admitted to what he did, he's just denying the interpretation. Every guy on the planet knows his story is bullshit. If he was smart, he'd shut up and go away, wait for 2-3 scandals to go by, then hire a good publicist to rehab his rep later. This thrashing around is just grist for ridicule - and I for one, am in favor of it.

I still don't understand where a law was broken. If it was a male exchanging CASH for favors, then a law is broken, hence sting ops with hookers you see on TV, people are innocent till cash is exchanged....

I never knew it was against the law to 'come on' to aother guy. No pun intended....

Is this just me??? If he broke the law, fine, but what law was broken?

Carry on....

Formerlib-

Don't you think it's just a little beneath the dignity of a U S Senator to be giving blowjobs in a public Men's room? Or does supporting Bush give you a pass on anything short of a felony? (wait-no need to answer that last one)

I don't care if he was gearing up for sex with his WIFE. It's just not acceptable. Not having sex in Men's rooms is just one of the terrible burdens of holding office.

"I still don't understand where a law was broken."

You sound like you're just as stupid as Larry Craig. If no law was broken, then just what th' hell did he plead guilty to ??!!

And don't insult peoples intelligence by claiming to be a former 'librul', 'cos everyone known it's bullshit.

it is a woman's prerogative to change her mind!

oh G-d, forgive me...

p.s. i am a staunch conservative, but believe if this guy's trouble, he needs to go. no, really go.

I know Craig really helped o gut some of the more draconian measures in the new Homeland Surveillance bill. Maybe this was paybak, I mea how hard would it be for a "cop" to lie, with the right "encouragement" of course.

On the other hand, he's probably just a perv.

man, that is one piss poor job of typing.

I still don't understand where a law was broken.

Cash doesn't actually have to change hands. Simply asking "How much baby?" is enough to make you guilty of solicitation.

The Minneapolis police weren't there for fun. They had received numerous complaints of the airport men's room being used by men trolling for sex.
The police went undercover and learned the signals being used by the Johns as they propositioned to pay for sex.
Craig used those signals, hence he is guilty of soliciting a male prostitute for sex.

That's what Craig did. He pled guilty to a lesser charge rather than face the solicitation charge in front of a jury. He quietly pled guilty and then he then covered it up. He had no intention of ever telling his constituents that he was convicted of a crime.

And that alone should get him booted out of the Senate.

but what law was broken?

Lewd conduct. I got busted for the same thing by pissing in a hotel lobby when I was blackout drunk and tripping after a Tool show in South Carolina.

Cool - let him rescind his resignation. How is it that people elect Senators and Congressmen who are dumb beyond belief, whatever they do or don't do in restrooms. This man is simply an idiot.

(Republican, too , by coincidence, of course)

p.s. i am a staunch conservative, but believe if this guy's trouble, he needs to go. no, really go.

* * * *

He needs to go, because he's been in the Senate for 27 friggin' years. Remember Term Limits? Had we gotten what the Repubs promised us 13 years ago, he would have been propositioning guys in Boise truck stops, and this wouldn't have made the news at all. Same with that perv Foley--the problem is that after a few terms in Washington, they feel untouchable. (In one sense, anyhow.) Eventually they start to believe their own press releases, and in their own indispensibility. And before you know it, they feel like they should be able to walk up to any intern or into any bathroom or elevator in the country and expect someone to slurp on their pole.

Just stay down! RE-RESIGN.

...expect someone to slurp on their pole.

mmm - Sounds a bit too much like wishful thinking, R is R

"I am going to take a wide stance, and reconsider my resignation. I have many supporters behind me"

(or in the next stall)

Craig may not be gay, but he sure is fucking indecisive.

Don't you think it's just a little beneath the dignity of a U S Senator to be giving blowjobs in a public Men's room?

WRONG, he recieves blowjobs in bathroom stalls, that's his thing. BIG DIFFERENCE. According some of the gay bloggers on the internet that have met Craig in bathroom stalls, he is hung 11" long.

Audrey, so what, really. Does it really make a difference that he was asking the dude for a blowjob, and not offering one? Is it more Senatorial to GET blowjobs from protitutes in a men's room stall?

And who cares how big his cock is? Is this the new Republican line of defense - sure we're closeted homosexual hypocrites getting it on in bathroom stalls, but we have big dicks, so it's OK?

Or is this the new 21st Century Republican Party, where you can fuck other guys, but you're not really gay as long as you're on top?

Is that a Skull and Bones thing? (Hmm, maybe that's why they're called that - it's OK to be a "bonesman", so long as you're not a "skull")

FLIP FLOPPER!!

He is digging a hole in that closet. Tell him to stop.-The Repugs

The cop needed to go further before the sting and maybe take a picture, to leave him with less of an opportunity to deny his way out of it.

Although denying a crime you have pled guilty to is a neat trick.

I agree it is obviously bad for the Republicans for him to stick around. I think he is being obstinate about not resigning to prove to his wife in some way that he is not gay. Must have been a real shocker for the wife.

He shouldn't resign.

although I think he is a scumbag for being a hypocrite what crime did he commit? Nothing. He is a closet, well WC, homosexual who is a staunch conservative and can't come to grips with his sexuality. (If this doesn't prove that being Gay is genetic I don't know what will.)

But fundamentally he was elected senator by his state. He's had Gay rumors surrounding him for most of his adult life, this isn't anything new. People have a resposibility for their vote, good or bad. Craig has a responsibility for his constituents. Idaho should be stuck with him. End of story.

His charge is much less serious than a DWI which we know quite a few senior politicians with convictions. The fact that the Right is pilloring him for wanting a WC BJ is disgusting. He should be reviewed for his complete set of activities. Are there other personal issues? Are his constituents happy with his performance? Did Repubs value his contributions?

While I personally find the concept of public bathroom sex incredibly nasty and dislike the political agenda of assholes like Craig I do not think he should be forced to resign on what is basically a trivial matter.

what crime did he commit?

The one he pleaded guilty to.

This guy sucks at making decisions.

Pick one, fucker.

Posted by ness_gadol

Well put, since I think sucking is the root of his problem..:) root, get it..hehe

fedupwithpols.

Misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

You can get this for yelling across the street to a buddy or coughing too loudly in a public meeting.

It's nothing. a slap on the wrist for being too annoying.

Get off the "it's a crime" bullshit.

The fact that a sitting US Senator pleaded guilty to the crime is enough for me. He has tarnished the reputation of a very important institution that needs as much burnishing as it can get.

There are plenty of people that have had run ins with the law; were innocent and pleaded innocent, yet still "paid for their crime". Craig pleaded guilty and should suffer his fate.

Just so you know, I haven't always been a law and order kind of guy. I was as understanding and compassionate as the next guy. However, as it became increasingly obvious that "understanding and compassion" was disproportionately dispensed to whites and the well to do and justice and retribution disproportionately dispensed to minorities and the poor, my attitudes about law and order changed. My mantra is now justice and retribution for all.

Fedupwithpols,

So you are in favor of witch hunts for any minor infraction? Get a speeding ticket get blackballed from ever having a job?

The system has always been geared to supporting those with knowledge or access to knowledge (money) to defend against the law. OJ was guilty as ever and Black but had the means to get himself acquited. If you make the legal system absolute as you imply then you live in a police state with no legal recourse. Guilty or innocent. This is what the Rethugs have been doing for some time. Now you want to help them because the legal system isn't exactly fair?

I hope you never get wrongly convicted of a crime.

Smome bad info on this thread. Hee are some corrections:

1) Not all (prob most) of the sex solicitied in mens' rooms is not for pay, but just "for the moment".

2) He did not plead guilty anything to do with sex.

Even though he is obviously a typical conserv hyppocrite and is getting what he deserves, I too, amd trouble by trying to figure out exactly why an arrest was made, certainly when judging by the tape recording made public just after the event. Of course, my motives are not without question - more of this gneration of phony conservative hypocrites has to brought down so that the intellectual level of public debate can finally be elevated from this type of thing.

He has tarnished the reputation of a very important institution that needs as much burnishing as it can get.

Oh fuck you.

The reputation of the "very important institution" has been tarnished, trashed, smashed, hammered, slammed and wrecked since long before Larry Craig tried to get some head.

Furio,

Simply put; I am for fairness in enforcement, prosecution and sentencing.

I hope you never get wrongly convicted of a crime.

I do to! In fact, I hope no one ever gets wrongly convicted of a crime.

The system has always been geared to supporting those with knowledge or access to knowledge (money) to defend against the law.

That doesn't make it right nor should it be used as an excuse to let it continue. My hope is that the hammer falls as hard on the well heeled as it does on the not so well heeled and by doing so, the people that make and enforce the laws will have "understanding and compansion" for everyone that is deserving regardless of their station in life.

I am sure that many cops, judges and legislators have understanding and compassion. However, they can't display it to often less they be labelled as "soft on crime". Consequently, they displense this sentiment very sparingly. And, just guess which demographic is the disproportionate recipient of those rare displays of "understanding and compassion".

Oh fuck you.

The reputation of the "very important institution" has been tarnished, trashed, smashed, hammered, slammed and wrecked since long before Larry Craig tried to get some head.

Does that mean you condone of his behavior? Are you content with the image of our legislators? If not, what would you suggest as a means of improving that image?

Man, oh man!
You can't make this sh-t up!

I hope he "un-resigns." Can you imagine the fun heading into the 2008 elections???

Ah, the party of "family values."

Argh,
"Don't you think it's just a little beneath the dignity of a U S Senator to be giving blowjobs in a public Men's room?"

So he waws giving blow jobs? Interesting, thats not in the report.

Angrydad,
"You sound like you're just as stupid as Larry Craig. If no law was broken, then just what th' hell did he plead guilty to ??!!"

Not stupid at all, all I did was bring up a point, and i'm stupid? Sure Dad. I plead guilty for speeding, yet, I see no jail time. I pissed in public about 10 years ago, bathrooms broke where I was at......still on record....does this mean I cannot run for office? Should I get fired from my current job?

Norm,
Arrested for signals? I cannot get arrested for flipping someone off.....can I?

Interesting case for sure....

What is really interesting here is this:

Solocitation of a prostitute, either male or female is illegal.

For some reason this ass clown was rail-roaded by his own republican buddies while David Vitter admitted openly (after the phone list was made public) to frequenting the houses of ill repute in D.C. and New Orleans.

Aint that a bitch.....

Trying to have sex in public is illegal too.

Formerlib, you pissed in public? You are lucky you weren't tried as a sex offender, what you did was publicly expose yourself!

"That doesn't make it right nor should it be used as an excuse to let it continue. My hope is that the hammer falls as hard on the well heeled as it does on the not so well heeled and by doing so, the people that make and enforce the laws will have "understanding and compansion" for everyone that is deserving regardless of their station in life."

To paraphrase Churchill, "The system sucks but its the best one available". I would say we should get rid of more mandatory sentencing/convictions and general attacks based on "It's THE LAW". Only fools think the law is absolute. The problem is since Reagan the law has gone more and more conservative. The solution is not to go further right but to being it back to center. california's "three strikes" law is amazingly stupid. Get caught stealing a Snickers three times in a row and get 20-life.

The man was arrested for tapping someone's foot and waving "hi" under the partition. Big fucking deal. The cop was doing everything he could to entrap him. Trying to "buddy" up with him saying if he told the truth everything would be okay. "everything you say can and will be used..." The cop was the biggest shitbag in this whole case. Imagine a cop who had to get stuck on "shit and dick" patrol in the toilet. Real winner.

You know if Craig was stealing tax payer funds or committing fraud like that Cunningham asshole I would say fuck him over. Craig on the other hand is just like all of us he got arrested for nothing and is getting his life ruined. There are many places in the US where if you light up a joint in your house the police confiscate it, no conviction necessary. Pull up to a prostitute to ask directions, car confiscated and sold for solicitation, no conviction necessary. Have sex in your own house but a sick fuck neighbor goes out of his way to video tape you, get arrested. Cough too much on a plane or have a dumb bitch stewardess mistakenly think you insulted her get thrown off the plane and on a no fly list. the shit goes on and on.

Personally I don't give a crap about what this idiot does. The obscenity that is the Republican Party is such that their sexual proclivities are the least of the reasons they disgust me.
They happily passed laws which they knew would harm families, cause homes to be lost, allow outsourcing of jobs, insourcing of other jobs, etc.
I really just wish the majority of America would wake up and look at what has happened to their country and who made it happen. What they do in the bathroom really doesn't interest me.

Rush to judgement, the new American way. Trial by media with selective and bias eveidence.

It is possible the guy made a plea being naive enough to believe it would just go away like it does for the little people who cop a plea.

The fact is there are many possible and plausible scenarios. Which one is true? None of us knows except the involved parties.

btw, how's the last Kennedy that was playing bumper cars in a drunken stupor in DC faring? Is he still involved in politics?

Treat em all the same (whether republican, dem or any other flavor) or shut up.

If the voters in Idaho don't want him they'll say so.

He's admitted to what he did, he's just denying the interpretation. Every guy on the planet knows his story is bullshit.

Posted by argh at 2007-09-04 09:52 PM | Reply

He admited nothing. He pleaded guilty to 'disorderly conduct' which is just a catch-all plea to make an annoying matter go away.

If the cops had a solid case against him, they would not take such a plea.

I personally have pleaded 'disorderly conduct' when I was innocent because I needed to get on with my life. I was out of town on business, and the only option was to travel back there at considerable expense, several times, for hearings, etc.

No different than the time in Denver when I was pulled over for speeding, when I was actually 5 under the limit. I could have contested it and won, but instead I pleaded guilty to 'obstructed windshield' and paid a $20 fine.

I really just wish the majority of America would wake up and look at what has happened to their country and who made it happen.

So this means you're a big fan of NAFTA, eh?

Ah, the party of "family values."

Posted by SamBarber at 2007-09-05 07:48 AM | Reply

I'd expect no less from any ignorant Lefty crank. You ass clowns leap all over the 'family values' label as though it were your royal trump card.

You forget the other half of the matter. Conservatives also believe in individual responsibility. When someone fails, it's not an indictment of the entire group.

That's hard to grasp by the Left, who thinks everyone is a member of a tribe, or grievance group.

Another thing Conservatives believe in is compassion and forgiveness. Another impossible idea to grasp by the party of hate and intolerance.

""No different than the time in Denver when I was pulled over for speeding,""

Hey I don't care what the guy does, like Incubus says, Idahoans can vote. But your comment is a bit ridiculous. Most folks I know don't hide speeding tickets from their wives. It was hardly the same thing as a speeding ticket and he wanted it "to go away." Far, far away I'm sure. He just hoped it wouldn't appear on anyone's radar...or should I say....gaydar??

Here Danni. NY Times articles for you to read.....

topics.nytimes.com

"It's just not acceptable. Not having sex in Men's rooms is just one of the terrible burdens of holding office."
--ARGH

This one just begs for a Clinton deflection.

If Craig really wasn't being a gaytard in the men's room, then I hate to see his career ruined over nothing, but the fact is he hasn't been getting his story straight, and the GOP doesn't need any more ironic gay controversies.

"...while David Vitter admitted openly (after the phone list was made public) to frequenting the houses of ill repute in D.C. and New Orleans."

Biggest difference? Louisiana has a Democrat governor who would appoint a Democrat. Idaho not. Therefore Vitter was not urged to resign.

ah, another case of the dog returning to his own vomit by Vernon...once again projecting onto others.

The spokesman (Craig) for the party of "personal responsibility" was all over Vitter, but now waffles over the hiding of his copping a plea.

Go back and read the transcript again of his arrest and questioning. Spin the "wide stance," "picking up a piece of toilet paper" and the other obfuscations. And you have the gall to call me or any other democrat right now an ass clown.

You should be embarrassed of yourself, but that is apparently beyond your character.

Character? you have to fucking be kidding!

There's also the matter of Craig standing outside the Vice Cop's stall for two minutes peeking through the door.

The evidence, when taken in it's totality clearly points at Craig's 'crusing'.

If he had to crap that bad, he'd have headed right into a stall, pooped, flushed, and gotten on his way. NO one has such a 'wide stance' that their feet get 2 1/2 feet into the next stall with their pants pulled down.

Apparently, he thinks he is going to go back to court and ask a judge to throw out his guilty plea. If he were an ignorant child he would have a slight chance but I just don't believe a judge is going to believe he didn't understand his rights or what he was charged with.
No pun intended but I think he is shit outta luck....no matter how wide his stance.
But, be that as it may, it is still fine with me for him to remain in the Senate representing the Republican voters of Idaho. At least the Dems can say they voted against this perv.

When someone fails, it's not an indictment of the entire group.

That's hard to grasp by the Left, who thinks everyone is a member of a tribe, or grievance group.

That's pretty damn funny, vern. An indictment of "the Left" by a member of a group which doesn't hold a groups responsible for the actions of it members.

Do you have to keep notes to remember your BS, or is it simply the fuel pellet that fires your thought process.

I wonder if you'll remember having written this the next time you launch another complaint about "liberals" or the Left".

I hope you guys don't become irrelevant to the point of disappearing, though, because it makes for occasionally humoroud reading.

Trial by media with selective and bias eveidence.

No . Pleading guilty.

If he wants his plea overturned, doesn't that mean he committed perjury when he made it. Or is perjury still only a process crime?
But a slap fight between the Republicans and the Toiletboy will be great TV. Especially if they bring in all the other guys Craig did do in other toilets.

A plea bargin for disorderly conduct doesn't equal irrefuteable proof of solicitation for homosex. I pray you're never a juror.

Do you think the possibility exists that he was assured his plea wouldn't become public?

Do you think the possibility exists that he was assured his plea wouldn't become public?

No, because its called THE PUBLIC RECORD! Do you think a sitting Sentaor might understand this simple little point?

""A plea bargin for disorderly conduct doesn't equal irrefuteable proof of solicitation for homosex. I pray you're never a juror.""

Then why did all the Republicans want him to resign so badly???? Is the "possibility" that there was a connection to gay sex so terrible that he needed to resign??? It must be hard to find the right take on this for Republicans. It seems there really isn't a way to spin this as an attack by Democrats. But keep trying, it's fun to laugh at y'all chasing your tails.

Oh, sorry, poor choice of words. You got to be careful what you say about Republicans these days.

I don't understand why he wants to bring this back up. This is not going to help or please the Republican party at all. Once people start to examine some of the facts in this case it will only make him look more guilty. One of the things I heard is that they want him to explain why he choose that bathroom that was so far out of the way between his flight and his connecting flight. Apparently he went way over to the other side of the airport and happened to going into this restroom (famous for this sort of activity) this only makes it look even more suspicious. We have by now all heard the police report and from what I know none of what was described seems to be normal bathroom behavior. I have never had anyone (that I know of peek in on me in a stall) never had anyone reach a hand under near a stall or bend down to pick up a piece of paper. If something falls on a floor in the bathroom especially on the floor of a stall I am not touching it. Time will tell but there sure is a lot of strange things in this case.

I am a hardcore republican and don't really believe that homosexuallity is right....but I have to say one thing....exactly what is he guilty of.

A gay man can't try to pick up another man, so everytime I am in a bar and approach a girl with my best line and a drink I am engaging in lewd activity.

I mean really, he was just trying to hook up with someone, straight people do it everyday.

If it is illegal to give a signal that a person is gay and do you want to hook up, then America isn't a free society at all.

Now I am starting to feel sorry for gay people, we won't even allow them to meet people.

And if I am in a mens room and a gay man gives me the signal I would just say "sorry, I'm straight" no big deal. I brush off girls hitting on me if I am not interested.

Yeah, no difference. No difference at all. Vern, I apologize for being rude, but it is you who is the assclown.

Speaking of resigning, since the left is holding Craig by the balls, how about Hillary resign from her Senate post, and forfeit any future nominiation, for breaking the law, taking donations, large donations from a fugitive who is now no where to be seen....If it was Bush well, we know the story...

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) - Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu failed to appear Wednesday for a bail hearing and a judge issued a new warrant for his arrest.
Hsu forfeits the $2 million bail he posted last week.

Hsu's lawyer said he doesn't know where his client is.

Hsu had been a fugitive in California for 15 years during which time he became a top donor to Democratic candidates, including presidential contenders Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

Hsu pleaded no contest in 1991 to a felony count of grand theft, admitting he'd defrauded investors of $1 million in a bogus investment scam. Prosecutors say he was facing up to three years in prison when he skipped town before being sentenced.

Federal Election Commission records show Hsu donated $260,000 to the Democratic Party and candidates since 2004.

""Speaking of resigning, since the left is holding Craig by the balls""

For the 50th time....it is the Republicans who were trying to force Craig to resign.

And how is Hillary responsible for what that guy did. Is she supposed to know the details of every contributor's life???

Danni,
Where did I EVER state that Hillary was repsonsible??? Oh, I didn't .

When the contributions are that large, and their have been MANY pictures of those two together, I see it as a liiiiiiitle odd....sorry....betcha he leaves the country....

Aren't you interested in this?

NAMES1707,
Exactly what I posted earlier...

Yes formerlib, I am just shocked that picking up someone in Amerca is illegal!

Now looking in the stall crack is a little creepy, but is it any different than at the gas station today a girl bent over and I noticed every guy in line looking down her top.

Our lives as free Americans are being stipped away everyday by self righteous people thinking it is ok for them to do it, but no one else.

Hard to believe a democratic state like MN. makes it illegal for a gay person to pick up someone. Shows you how democrats say one thing and do another. I as a republican believe all men are equal and have the same rights, whether I believe in their way of life or not.

I do not believe in abortion, but I do believe a man has the right to carry a gun, so as a republican I therefore respect those who believe in abortion and do not fight agaisnt it....it is called respect of other Americans and what they believe in, but some people want their rights and take away others, it just sickens me....self righteous scum.

I love how progressive alot of these Republicans are sounding lately. I wish they where this vocal back in 2006 when gay rights were used to scare people too the polls.

""Aren't you interested in this?""

1. Not particularly.
2. I'm not really a big Hillary supporter.

I agree with you....homosexuality, abortion and gun control has been used to get votes or attack the other guy.

I saw it in 2006 and prior to that.

Fear is being used to crush the rights of the American people and know one wants to tell the truth on any issue.

Sad, just sad what we have become.

If one of you out there is thinking of having an abortion, I know you are not taking it lightly and will have regrets in whatever you decide, just as I know if one of you is carrying a gun I am not fearful you will shoot me just because you can, but none of this is taken into account...just the fear.

misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge

$500 fine.

Is this worse than Obstruction of Justice and Perjury?

They should Censure him, but does his crime even come up to OoJ and P level?

Actually, I heard the hand signals had changed a few months beforehand and the hand and foot signals actually said, "If you are a cop and you'd like to take a bribe, just wave your badge."

The solution is not to go further right but to being it back to center. california's "three strikes" law is amazingly stupid.

Furio,

You just made my point!! It is only by taking matters to the extreme that our society begins to recognize that we need to pull back. And, when the pull back occurs, everyone benefits.

"... Once people start to examine some of the facts in this case it will only make him look more guilty. As you correctly point out, we have heard only copper Karsnia's side of this. I'd like to hear from Craig now.

Until then, perhaps y'all ought to withhold judgment?

"... Do you think the possibility exists that he was assured his plea wouldn't become public?" (posted by Incubus_Con)

As a matter of fact, copper Karsnia promised Craig that he wouldn't go to the media.*

Makes you wonder, if copper Karsnia didn't tell anyone that Craig was a senator, how did this little nothing 'disorderly conduct' plea come to be noticed?

For instance, when I type in "Larry Craig' online, I get this:

"Too many LARRY CRAIG listings found!" (ZABASEARCH)

Could it be that Karsnia changed his mind? Or maybe he didn't tell Craig the truth to begin with?

CRAIG: Okay.

OFFICER: Okay, so well start over, you're gonna get out of here. You're gonna have to pay a fine and that will be it. Okay, I don't call media, I don't do any of that type of crap.

I just spent a few minutes reviewing Sen. Craig's voting record. Personally, after reviewing his right wing bias I will enjoy his humiliation even more. I only hope more of his buddies fall into similar circumstances, the more the merrier.
Go home to Idaho you right wing lunatic. I hope your fellow homophobic Idahoans make your life miserable. I am sure they will. You richly deserve it.

ah the ole hypocracy card......

but it figures as outlined so expertly yesterday by my man.....rush.......

the hypocracy card is the ONLY way for dems to approach this.......because if they attack the act itself, they will alieninate a large part of thier backers......the degenerate porch of the party.
and if they talk too much about illegal acts, they then will be faced with questions about reid's shady land deals, fientstein secretly throwing money to her husbands company from defense committee she is on, they would have to just talk about barney frank having a prostitution ring out of his house, and gary studds, and also the ole jefferson 'cold cash'.

so you see....the act itslef CANT BE DENOUNCED by most of the left.....because that would mean they were judging someone and the left.....for the most part......isnt interested in standards because then they would have to stand up to those standards insted of sitting back and blasting republicans.

and the LATEST HSU deal........

lets say it again.

republicans resign
democrats whine........AND DISAPPEAR.......

oh yeah.....and dont even try and tell me that frank didnt know what was going on in his own house with his 'boyfriend'

lets say it again.

republicans resign
democrats whine........

ER BL...he isn't resigning apparently but he is whining that he plead guilty under duress or some other bull shit.

""because if they attack the act itself, they will alieninate a large part of thier backers.""

You really ought to think about what you post, at least two Republicans have been arrested for basicly the same crime within just the past month.
No Democrats have been and usually your only method of countering attacks by Dems about the low morals of your buddies is to bring up Clinton.
Truely laughable. I don't understand why you righties don't just avoid this thread and all things Sen. CRaig. It would be a lot smarter.
There is just no way to spin this to your advantage, but do keep trying, it's great entertainment.

my point of course was the left HAS to focus on the hypocracy angle because if they talked about the crime.
they might have to talk about

feinstein
reid
frank
studds
jefferson
almost any asian supporter of the clintons
and lets not forget murtha and the scam he was caught in the middle of......

but anyway as we come to the end of another broadcast day......and maybe this is the day...........to get lucky......(and you can take that anyway you want_......

lets leave with this reminder.........

when I am playing great lakes downs and a horse is taking the lead coming out of the turn I say this line and the same thing applies now to the presidential race after leno last night...

THIS RACE IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!

and why dont we mention this on the subject..........

what about the website from mike rogers that posts ads for people who know someone who is gay but who doesnt support gay issues.........I would never give the name of that filth so you have to believe me. I am quoting from a story from wa. post........

and then there is larry flint......

the left is in bed with a scumbag like larry flint on this issue and that should tell you all you need to know......

but lets say this too.....last night on larry king I listened to blowjob billy for a few minutes and when asked about this, he was pretty good in his comments considering his history and he talked more about craigs family needing help and caring rather than blasting him like he could have and I EXPECTED HIM too......it was a pleasant surprise.

please read the previous post and think about it.

if the left were to just every now and then write something like this about bush or others....just think about how far that would go towards pulling us together and maybe even congress actually DO SOMETHING besides watch thier ratings so down and down and down.........

hasta laredo.......

"my point of course was the left HAS to focus on the hypocracy angle because if they talked about the crime.""

No you really just don't get it. The hypocrisy angle is the only angle that the Democrats care about because they really don't care why anyone does in their private life. The hyocrisy is the fact that the party that wants to intrude into people's bedrooms has leaders who indulge in bathroom sex. That is hypocrisy, that's what Democrats care about.
The Republicans don't even ask Vitter to resign because his "sin" was committed with a woman but OMG! if it is a gay sex act then they are demanding resignations.
If Republicans minded their own business concerning the sexual preferences of others they would find that we don't have so much fun at their expense when one of their own is discovered to be a liar and a hypocrit about his/her own sexual activity.

I've refrained from commenting on this case because Senator Craig and I are both members of the same national college fraternity and I won't say bad things about another brother, even if I don't support him politically or personally buy his story.

From a legal standpoint, however, I don't think his conduct - though (if the officer's report is true) was rude and even creepy - would rise to the level of something that he should be facing legal action on. He certainly might have been soliciting sexual activity; it is also possible that his "signals" might have been misinterpreted. Either way, I don't think that it was absolutely certain that he was soliciting and I think the cop went overboard.

I do think that for an arrest for this offense to occur there should be a clear solicitation made, either verbally or by unmistakable gesture. Tapping your feet doesn't cut it for me; the contact and reaching under are much closer but there is an element of doubt possible. I know that I'm one who taps on things all the time (drives my kids nuts) and I wouldn't think that this would be a signal to someone else and I sure wouldn't want to be busted for it.

That said, I've travelled through that airport many times - - and I'm getting the "ewww" feeling thinking that this kind of stuff might have been going on in the restrooms while I was there and I didn't even notice.

I wish the righties on this thread could step outside of themselves and see how they sound.

Craig was soliciting for prostitution and got caught. He yelled "No!" when the cop showed him his badge. He HAD to have known he was doing something wrong and yelled "No!" because he realized he was caught. He plead guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Not soliciting, but we all know what the disorderly conduct was. If he knew in his own mind that he wasn't guilty, he shouldn't have signed the on the dotted line. He's an adult, and he knew what he was doing.

The charge is about as bad as being drunk in public, and maybe not that bad, but we all know what the circumstances were. He was soliciting. Even IF he wasn't soliciting and no money were involved, it would still be lewd conduct to have sex in a public restroom.

All you rightist ass-clowns are hypocrites of the highest order if you would allow an asshole like Craig to serve on the hill, pass legislation telling all of us how to live our lives, get caught looking for sex in a men's restroom, then try to excuse his hypocrisy and downplay the crime (misdemeanor is STILL a crime).

"But Dems do it too" is a lame attempt to excuse bad behavior by those in your own ranks.

And BL2, you and assholes like you who harp on congress seem to forget that congress is currently 49% republican. It was a Republican held congress long before the 2006 elections. Your own party are the ones who created this fucking mess and gave Bush the power he has, and are being obstructionist in keeping the now democratically elected congress from doing the will of the people.

Oh, and scumbags like Larry Flynt don't pretend to be something they're not, and they're citizens of this united states, just as any republican political activist is. Barney Frank was already openly homosexual. You don't see either of those two people pretending to be stalwarts of family values.

I love the left using a broad brush on this issue....one senator, tried to pick up a person, and has to resign...so the WHOLE party is hypocrites!!! show some people need to grow up....

please....

Oh, have a nice day.

anybody consider the possibility that this is all a gop tactic to keep homosexuality as an issue without trying to introduce legislation that could potentially alienate some voters?
99% of republicans get to attack a homosexual, and craig falls on his sword (bad pun) for the party. Pushes the gop further to the right, because its not like any republican will think that the democrats offer a stronger stance on this subject. left republicans won't look at this as a reason to leave the gop and the most conservative of them will be reinvigorated, ready to support more unabashedly anti gay candidates.

Media sources now reporting Craig's top aid as saying Craig probably will resign after all.

Former,

Who's painting with a broad brush? I distinctly remember seeing Democrats and Liberals being painted as "leftist", "obstructionist", "clintonist" with these labels on a daily basis on this site.

It about time the Dems in power started using labels against the true obstructionists, the ones keeping the will of the people from being done.

You're just upset because the Dems are playing the game the Reps have been playing for decades, and it's starting to sting.

Talk to the Hand
You know about Republican Sen. Larry Craig's arrest on disorderly conduct charges in a Minneapolis bathroom. Now you know he has resigned. But do you know about the cop he tried to solicit?

www.msnbc.msn.com

makes $75,000 a year soliciting Johns...(pun intended:>)

I think Craig's problems are funny but still I think it is a bit ridiculous and wasteful to pay this guy $74,000 a hear to patrol a bathroom.
