UTA, no doubt the policies of Bill Clinton did help China but I have to tell you something....George Bush has been president almost seven years now and most of that time he had a REpublican Congress.....and we knew about Chinese weapons in Afghanistan five years ago.
And he did what?????
BTW, we weren't engaged in a war in Afghanistan when Bill Clinton was president so Chinese and Russian weapons weren't being used on American soldiers at the time. And our corporations were not doing nearly as much business in China as they are now.

I looked everywhere on google about the use of Cuban boys to fight over in Iran and could come up with nothing. I do know that Carter asked other countries (like the USSR) to not join in helping the Iran/Iraq war so the USSR requesting young guys be sent over to help Iran was not going to be a fact that was publicized. Cuba sent troops to a number of places where the USSR wanted them but in the case of Iran I doubt it was made known. Regular Cuban troops were not sent over to Iran but supplying very young guys (early teens) to run thru mine fields and run messages, etc. would not be considered regular Cuban military troops (and would not have been public or made the news). Anyway, as I said, I only went by what Armando told me. It's also possible it was in the very late 1970's too because the formal war with Iran started around 1980 but I'm sure there were skirmishes with Iraq in the prior years.

Maybe if you know some older Cubans there in Florida you can ask if they ever heard of Cuba sending over very young guys (early teens) to help the Iranians in their war with Iraq. I'd be interested in knowing. As I said, I only had word of mouth about it from what Armando told me and at the time never thought about questioning the fact.

Chris, I don't doubt the possibility but I just haven't heard about in all the years I've lived here in S. Florida. I will ask if anyone else remembers here in Florida.
