Speaking from ANY point of view...Amen to that!

"You ever had your shit pushed in?"

-Training Day

A legal question that I haven't seen asked:

What is the regulation for a member of Congress disclosing to his constituents that he was convicted of a crime? What is their right to know?
Is he required to do so by law, and in what time frame?
Is this merely an ethical violation, or did he commit another crime?

most common line used in a gay bar-

can I push your stool in?...

I guess next they'll be asking him to go fly around Iraq in a C-130.

Jiminy! Can't the guy have his chance to prove his innocence in court? He did what? Pled guilty?? Jiminy! Why'd he do that?

They're pushing out a Craig? I hope they wipe their Montecore.

101 - you off your game? already thinking about the weekend? wondering which airport you are closest to? come on, you can do better than that!

If only he pushed out and got out like he was supposed to, he would still have a job.

i mean, even 'wipe you Rob' makes more sense than that.

no it doesn't. but 'wipe youR rob' does.

I'm still not sure what law this guy broke.

If I hit on a woman in a public place, am I guilty of something?

are you defining public place as an area of her body that isnt covered? do you hit women often? Did Craig hit anyone? also if he didnt break any law, what is it he pleaded guilty to?

ok let me rephrase that.

If I ask a woman to give me a blowjob, am I breaking the law?

How about flashing a woman the 'SHOCKER' sign?

I think it is funny that he is a closeted faggot, but is that against the law?

If I ask a woman to give me a blowjob, am I breaking the law?

Posted by Manypaths at 2007-08-31 02:01 PM

Not the law, but you may get a broken jaw -- for asking.

Nah, I am a decent looking guy Chris. I bat about .500 with that line.

Heard a lawyer I listen to on a local radio station explain the reason why last night --

Idaho has a Republican governor who would be the one to pick the replacement for Craig.
Craig runs again in 2008. If Craig is replaced now, then the replacement will have the advantage of being an incumbent already in the seat when it comes time to run again in 2008. The Republicans feel that Craig doesn't stand a chance to win re-election and they want to force him out and have another Republican take his place ASAP.

But you bring up a good point.

If a gay guy hits on you, (I am assuming that you are not gay), do you tell the guy you're not interested or call the police?

I am just trying to figure out what law is being broken to the extent that law enforcement is spending the time and resources to prevent it.

I understand that actually HAVING sex in public is against the law and should be, but seeking it is as well?

MP,
I understand where you are going with this. It's a valid point. He may have been signaling the guy for a BJ, but who is to say that they couldn't have agreed to go to the motel rooms that would inevitably be located near an airport and have at it?

He plead to disturbing the peace right?

You mean disturbing the Pees?

Good stuff. I swear leno and Letterman should cruise this place for material if they already aren't.
I can't ever recall reading this site and not laughing my ass off at some of the hilarious shit that gets typed by both sides of the aisle.
There was a ball-gag crack a couple days back that had me rolling.

I am not sure what I laugh at more on the DR. Obvious jokes or people that are trying to be serious.

It's about 50/50.

Too bad your own ball-gag kept you from laughing out loud at the time you read it.

CalChris, our house hispanophobe, surely nails the politics of the whole Craig bidness. Go CC, go. I think normal folks have long abandoned Idaho and the likes of its great Sen. Frank Church. Idaho is merely a storage place for overflow Mormons from Utah. herm

Craig said his wide stance was because he didn't want his pants to slide down to the (dirty?) toilet stall floor while he sat on the can.*

Quite so.

*

....

DK: Okay. And when you went in the stalls, then what?
CRAIG: Sat down.
DK: Okay. Did you do anything with your feet?
CRAIG: Positioned them, I don't know. I don't know at the time. I'm fairly wide guy.
OFFICER: I understand.
CRAIG: I had to spread my legs.
OFFICER: Okay.
CRAIG: When I lower my pants so they won't slide.

He also exited the stall without flushing or taking a dump. What the fuck does he say he was doing in there?

RateCraig'sPoo: 0.

Had the copper waited for a solicitation for sex from Craig before making his arrest, we'd not all be wondering right now why he blandished the conveniences of a 'guilty' court plea (cops never volunteer this in post-Miranda police interviews, so why did he?), and then turned snarly when he didn't get the confession he was brow-beating the Senator for.

Only a truly naive person wouldn't have lawyered up here.

Helloooooo, BILLY O'HERM

I knew you'd slip and expose yourself eventually.
Have you put a down payment on that house you're buying me in Idaho yet? Doesn't have to be a big place, Billy, say 3 bedrooms at the max, two baths, and preferably on a river or lake. Put your money where your boca gorda grande is if you want me in Idaho so bad. :]

Because midway the copper flashed his police badge* at him from under the stall.

There's no evidence here.

In my neck of the woods, the D.A. would have refused to file this 'case' for lack of.

CRAIG: I sit down, um, to go to the bathroom and ah, you said our feet bumped. I believe they did ah because I reached down and scooted over and um, the next think I knew, under the bathroom divider comes a card that says Police.

He also exited the stall without flushing or taking a dump.

I think I've learned enough about Senator Craig to last a lifetime. gag.

Watching a little of Washington Journal on C-Span early this morning,, one Republican partisan after another disputed the veracity of the cop. They never mentioned that Craig spent 2 minutes outside the cop's stall peeking through the crack before he sat in the adjacent stall.

Here's all I heard from the Republican phone line: 'It's the 'liberal media's fault' or 'the Dems are just out for him and will do anything' or 'What about Teddy Kennedy' blah blah blah. Just as Tom Delay did on the Today Show the other morning.

Why is it so easy to constantly point the finger in the wrong direction when someone gets caught doing something so hypocritically wrong?

Best piece on the whole shebang I've seen so far:

"Get a Room!"

"The Republicans feel that Craig doesn't stand a chance to win re-election and they want to force him out and have another Republican take his place ASAP."

I'm sure that's correct. The democrats don't seem to have that problem because they just reelect 'em.

No, no, the current line is that Craig is just being framed to cover up for Hillary's campaign donor problem

Aparently it isn't possible to pay attention to two things at once...

"No, no, the current line is that Craig is just being framed to cover up for Hillary's campaign donor problem"

If people had called Barbara Bush 'Cuntlery' (Bush?), or called her by her first name with a snear, the screaming meemies from the lunatic far right would have been screaming 'Holy Murder!!! Do they HAVE NOT RESPECT FOR THE FIRST LADY OF THE UNITED STATES!!!!!!' day after day.

Why anyone thinks it's appropriate to call a sitting first lady by her first name in a derisive way as many did while she was, or now call her 'Hitlerary' or "Hildabeast' is beyond me.

But, I come from an era when people weren't such public assholes either, and had enough self respect to not resort to that childish crap.

I heard a few days ago -- and only heard it one time -- that when Senator Craig would get up to speak on the floor of the Senate ALL the Senators -- including Republicans -- would cringe because Craig was well-known was for using their names in his speeches whenever he wanted to call attention to an item he considered too much pork and he didn't care if it would embarrass them.

Being a conspiratorial nut, it did cross my mind that if some Senators -- tired of being embarrassed about their pork projects being made public by Craig -- and perhaps already knowing of Sen. Craig's proclivity for playing tootsies with gay guys in adjoining bathroom stalls -- just maybe the police were tipped off Craig was on public potty patrol that night?

GOP is pushing Craig out?

How far apart are the contraction?

Quick, boil some water and tear up some clean sheets.

Congratulations GOP, you've just given birth to bouncing baby Stall Stalker!

You must be so proud.

Is Fred Thompson handing out cigars?

He's got the good ones, ya know.

So WHY didn't the cop wait for a direct solitation of sex by Craig before arresting him? Or for him to crawl out from under his stall?

WHY did the cop VOLUNTEER that Craig could plead guilty in court and it would be oh, so easy?

WHY did this 2 month-old story go unleaked until now?

it's none of my business what he was doing in there unless it's something that could get a person arrested - why'd he keep it quiet for so long? the dems AND repubs obviously knew something and sat on it for the apropos time - just so happened it was time to let the cat out of the bag - wonder what's next?

why's nobody talking about hitlery? she was on leno last night - are they beating down craig's door to let him have his say? nope - but, david had the bad taste to ask hitlery about it.

'Hitlery'

You guys take your stuff right out of Goebel's playbook
(Who's that? He asks)

LMAO

Spin spin spin spin on Craig. I knew it would start.

Pandering for The Whirling Dervish vote.

david had the bad taste to ask hitlery about it.

Using "Hitlery and "bad taste" in the same sentence?

Interesting approach thinks Spud.

Interesting???

Maybe so....but certainly not the first adjective that comes to mind...

That was just plain disgusting.

It reminds me how stupid the voters are.

John Warner will not run again.

His seat in Virginia will be up for grabs, I don't know about Idaho.

Perhaps that is the problem....

Craig may have just taken too seriously his position as I Da 'Ho.

What's next? Will they be asking other NRA fags to resign?

What's with to the old US of NRA when this can happen?

Never would of been busted if he'd been swinging his old handgun under that stall.

I agree but this fact still stands.

republicans resign
democrats whine

but that is some interesting questions

if gay sex is so damn normal as I READ HERE ALL THE TIME...

whats the big deal....

well probably that the act itself was probably going to happen in the public shitter........I guess.......

but then again in liberalville usa isnt it okay for someone to have sex with anyone at anytime at any place??????

"but then again in liberalville usa isnt it okay for someone to have sex with anyone at anytime at any place??????"

A link please BLT.
And, for hopefully the last time;
This is about the pulling hipocracy of the GOP,the self proclaimed party of family values.
The party which whips the christian right into a lather over homosexuals and the naughty parts, while their own leadership is fumbling around under toilet stalls for sex cause they are too cowardly to admit what they like in public.
This is gay republicans who rail on about the gay agenda while trying to get a blow job in a public restroom, which is against the law BLT.(And we know how important that is to you all).
This is about the gay republican sending sexually explicit emails to minor pages, while the hierarchy in the republican party turned a blind eye.
The GOP is to politics what the Catholic church is to religion.
Plenty full of liars and abusers diddling the altarboys while praying to Jesus for all those other sinners.

and yet, we hear nothing to remind us of the dem who also had sex with a page and not only wasnt scourged by the dems.....the sonsabitch was re elected........

again..

repubs resign
dems whine

and I have said on more than one occasion on this issue, I understand its the hypocracy..
but he votes for issues that I care about, so lets ne honest, it doesnt matter to me .

and I have read where he was against the patriot act......so that should endear him to dems, right there.....

and finnally for the night......this will not play in 08........so all of you can just settle down.

"we hear nothing to remind us of the dem who also had sex with a page and not only wasnt scourged by the dems.....the sonsabitch was re elected........"

And when was that?

"and yet, we hear nothing to remind us of the dem who also had sex with a page"

You're joking, right? Righty-tighties have been posting that deflection dozens of times a day. You alone, probably.

I'm thinkin' it was over thirty years ago, but that would put it at about the time that Nixon resigned, which I'm sure you would agree is ancient history.

and I have said on more than one occasion on this issue, I understand its the hypocracy..
but he votes for issues that I care about, so lets ne honest, it doesnt matter to me .

Bull shit on this, it is not hypocrisy.

The man casts his vote which represented his constituents. That is why he is elected.

"...it is not hypocrisy."

The man votes against anything and everything gay during the day and trolls for anonymous gay sex in airport bathrooms by night...how much more obvious does it have to be?

Was Larry Craig cited* for 'disorderly conduct,' or 'disturbing the pees?'

And speaking of shoes,** too bad Sgt. Karsnia flashed his police ID prematurely. He ought to have waited for the other shoe (Craig's?) to drop resoundingly instead.

It is too bad that the business owners who employ illegals in Idaho that Craig has supported have abandoned him in his hour of need.

Craig is out for possibly trying to seek gay sex in a bathroom but William Jefferson lives on representing the Democrats.

"Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., was indicted Monday on federal charges of racketeering, money-laundering and soliciting more than $400,000 in bribes in connection with years of trying to broker business deals in Africa.

The indictment in federal court in Alexandria, Va., lists 16 alleged violations of federal law with prison terms totaling as much as 235 years."
www.cbsnews.com

The sad thing is that Jefferson did not got get anywhere near the press that Craig did. He's still in office. Ted "I killed Mary Jo Kophechne at Lake Chappaquiddick" Kennedy is still in office. I don't get this at all. Dems get away even with KILLING and BRIBERY and still stay in office while Republican men who may like guys get destroyed.

Oh, I forgot that Bill Clinton cheated on his wife with Monica Lewinsky and lied about it under Oath, a federal crime. This is in addition to many alleged cheating scandals. He stayed in office. Go figure.

"while Republican men who may like guys get destroyed."

Need some dramamine from all that spinning?

Larry Craig was a charter member of the lets-hate-a-homo club, and it turns out he knows all the secret signals of anonymous gay bathroom sex. He railed against fags during the day and trolled for gay bathroom sex at night. How much more hypocritical can one person get? At least Bill wasn't bloviating about the importance of fidelity and family values while he was cigaring Monica.

OT, if a man is bisexual and has engaged in risky behavior with thousands of men and women, does he have a duty to disclose this fact to any woman he dates?

If such a man knows his past history, but deceives this woman's trust, and is also a mental health administrator, does he not violate the ethics of his profession?

The sad thing is because Gonzo FU by raiding his office he is going to get off scott free.
Jefferson has not pleaded guilty or been found guilty of anything.
Craig pleaded guilty, big difference.
The Republic party got rid of Craig because he is gay and the state has a Republic governor who will replace him.
Vitter had sex with female prostitutes and his state is run by a Democratic governor so he was not asked to resign.

So many of these wives are fat, disgusting pigs. no wonder these guys seek satisfaction somehwere else.

Hey, you fat pigs, get off your fat asses and join a gym.

It's not rocket science you lazy sow. Eat less (more healhty), excercise more.

For one thing, it's not federal issue, it's a State's rights issue.

It's a human rights issue that needs to be settled once and for all at the federal level.

Be Well.

Being against a constitutional amendment legalizing gay marriage is not 'anti-gay.'

Agreed.

Being for a constitutional ammendment legalising gay marriage is being anti-gay, homophobic, intolerant and unconstitutional.

Voting fer such an ammendment makes Craig a stereotypical Righty not-so-Tighty closeted self loathing hypocrite.

As Craig
did.

"Being for (sic) a constitutional ammendment legalising gay marriage is being anti-gay, homophobic, intolerant and unconstitutional." (Posted by dethspud)

Is there a typo in this, dethspud?

You Dems need to prove Craig is gay before claiming he's a hypocrite. Start there, guys.

Sorry, brain fart.

Being against a constitutional ammendment making gay marriage legal is anti-gay.

Better watch those Freudian slips, dethspud.

Sorry, that time me post got half-eaten on the way to getting posted. That happens ever so rarely to Spud but it do happen.

Try that again...

Sorry, brainfart.

Being against a constitutional ammendment making gay marriage legal is anti-gay.

But that wasn't wot Craig did.

Craig voted Yes on a constitutional ammendment to make gay marriage illegal.

Historically, American democracy has evolved through an increasingly broader interpretation of the constitution so as to include folks like minorities and women. Wot ya had in the proposal to make gay marriage illegal through an ammendment in the Constitution was a deliberate narrowing of the definition. An attempt to make a certain portion of the population permanent second class citizens. This, of course, goes against the very ideas of democracy and equality. By voting Yes fer such an odious ammendment Craig achieved a level of hypocrisy and deceit that make him clearly incapable of being entrusted with the people's will.

Hopefully this time it'll go through.

Be Well.

"You Dems need to prove Craig is gay before claiming he's a hypocrite. Start there, guys."

Who said he's gay, and why should that matter? He's bi- at a minimum, but that doesn't matter either. What matters is he was trolling for anonymous gay sex in a Minneapolis airport bathroom, and has obviously done it enough to know all the secret signals. Plus, at least one man has admitted fellatiating Senator Craig in DC. And by voting for anti-gay legislation during the day, and trolling for gay sex at night, he wins the hypocrite-of-the-year award. Or at least ties with David Vitter, who, when talking in his campaigns of "family values", obviously wasn't talking about his own family.

But Craig's real downfall came when he proclaimed he's not gay, as other Republican Senators, more aware of the true situation, knew it would only be a matter of days before the parade of his male sex partners emerged.

You Dems need to prove Craig is gay before claiming he's a hypocrite. Start there, guys.

Prove he's not.

Yer buying his denials at this point?

The tons of guys coming out of the woodwork to verify his orientation are all liars?

Wow. Looks like Craigs gonna just clean-up in libel suits.

Not.

Man, you guy's will buy any line they feed you won't you?

Craig thought he could keep this all under wraps.

Almost worked too.

Spud's still not sure how this story was first, kept out of the papers and then second, actually made every paper in the country.

It would be neat to find out. Spud luffs backstory.

When he was arrested he used his i.d. to show the arresting officers that he was a U.S. Senator.

"What do you think about that?" he asked.

Spud woulda sed that he thought that Craig was gonna be an ex-Senator soon.

Be Well.

"... one man has admitted fellatiating Senator Craig in DC." (Posted by Danforth)

No, he 'claimed' this. No proof there either.

Look guys, so far there is no 'there there' in this 'gay' charge. That's why the Idaho Statesman never published their 8 month investigation* into this until 3 days ago.

"...During its investigation, the Statesman interviewed 300 people, visited the ranch where Craig grew up, and made two trips to Washington, D.C.
The paper also interviewed 41 of Craig's fraternity brothers and didn't come up with any corroboration."*

"No, he 'claimed' this. No proof there either. "

I'm terribly sorry you seem to need pictures and graphics. Do you actually believe someone would come forward admitting to sucking off the Senator for the unmitigated joy of going under the microscope?

"Look guys, so far there is no 'there there' in this 'gay' charge."

Okay, so he's not gay. Trolling for anonymous gay bathroom sex in an airport doesn't make one gay. Knowing all the secret hand signals for anonymous gay bathroom sex doesn't make one gay either. It just provides lots of evidence he's done this many times before. I'm just curious: how many will have to come forward for you to believe it's more than just an "allegation"? Three? Six? A baker's dozen?

But, if you insist, he's not gay. Fine. He just pled guilty to seeking gay anonymous bathroom sex in the Minneapolis airport.

So d'you think he'll challenge his Republican replacement in the primary?

A baker's dozen Danforth, not just 1 disgruntled gay guy.

""not just 1 disgruntled gay guy"

Yeah, it's gotta be a disgruntled guy, because knowing all the hand signals of anonymous gay bathroom sex like a long-time pro is just a coincidence, right?

"Wrong again, Danforth. Craig pled guilty to 'disorderly conduct."

Hahahahahaha! Do you think this is the first time someone has pled to a lesser charge?!? You never listened to the audio tape with the police officer, did you? Listen to it, and then pretend it wasn't what it was.

And streeeeetch.

Danforth and Spud,

Yep, just 1 'credible' witness according to reporter Popkey hisself, who didn't name him because he insisted on anonymity (is that self-loathing behavior?).

Hey, I thought all you Dem guys were libs? Lots of peeps have pled guilty to charges they were innocent of in order to squirm away from that tighty-righty justice system y'all hate (or did until you embraced it this week).

Yep, Craig was a lot more credible than copper Karsnia in that police interview. Nicer too. Karsnia got pretty ugly finally, insinuating not-so-veiled threats.

It was particularly suspicious that Karsnia vounteered that Craig could plead 'guilty' and it would go oh sooooo easy on him in court. Cops never do this in post-Miranda police interviews, ever.

"Yep, Craig was a lot more credible than copper Karsnia in that police interview"

Especially when Craig was very insistant it wasn't his left hand. How would he know it mattered enough to need to deny it?

Face it...the guy's a gay anonymous bathroom sex veteran. (Not that he's gay, mind you, he just sucks anonymous cocks in airport bathrooms....) This is just the first time he's been caught.

OCAF-
In a virtual thicket of very risible statements, I especially like this one:

"It was particularly suspicious that Karsnia vounteered that Craig could plead 'guilty' and it would go oh sooooo easy on him in court. Cops never do this in post-Miranda police interviews, ever."

"... Craig was very insistant it wasn't his left hand. How would he know it mattered enough to need to deny it?" (Posted by Danforthcoming)

So you're saying he wouldn't he deny it if he was innocent??

Yeah, sure... that makes perfect sense, Danforth... NOT.

He plead guilty to a charge arising from a vice operation in a public restroom. What did the "disorderly conduct" entail?

To any casual observer it is obvious that liberal Idaho police officers in the pay of George Soros were out to target Craig and manufacture allegations against him, to which he plead guilty while under the influence of drugs administered by the police. They even convinced him, under the influence of the drugs, not to even tell his wife of the incident.

re: "Being against a constitutional amendment legalizing gay marriage is not 'anti-gay.' For one thing, it's not federal issue, it's a State's rights issue."

Just to set the record straight, no pun intended, Craig voted for a constitutional amendment to make gay marriage constitutionally barred at the federal level.

(Must I mention that there was never a proposed federal "constitutional amendment legalizing gay marriage"?)

"Idaho is one of the nation's most reliably Republican states. The GOP controls the statehouse and all four seats in Congress, and Bush carried the state in 2004 with 68 percent of the vote." -- Is there any wonder Idaho isn't exactly known throughout the country as a bastion of tolerance, higher education, progressiveness, prosperity, and diversity? When people kept telling me about all the vegetables in Idaho, I thought they meant the potatoes. Now I realize they meant the citizens. Praise be to God that there are only 1.2 million of them. Imagine the damage they could do to the rest of the country if they had even more members in Congress. What a poor, backward, semi-literate, intolerant, bigoted, pathetic state. I think it took the Idaho Statesmen so long to publish the story about Senator Craig's arrest because that's how long it still takes to get information to Idaho. That's how far behind the rest of the country they are. Although they're decades behind in social and progressive thinking. I'd write to the Idahoans about their absolutely horrendous choices in politicians, but I don't think anyone there would be literate enough to read what I write. Maybe they only know the word Republican, or think an elephant is a pretty picture, so that's why they keep pulling that lever at the polls. I can't even imagine the level of harassment, discrimination, and violence, minorities are exposed to in that backwater. Even their gay Senator attacks and persecutes other gays. There are some nice mountains and lakes and forests there though. Can't Canada always use some more of that stuff? Idaho is right on the border so maybe we can pawn it off on Canada. It's a cruel thing to do to our northern neighbor, but hell, they pawned Celine Dion off on us.

I'm not familiar with gay bathroom codes . . . so was Larry Craig asking to be the suckee or the suckor?

"So you're saying he wouldn't he deny it if he was innocent?"

No. I'm saying he wouldn't have know the left hand was the signaling hand unless he had done it a lot. And he wouldn't have be so insistant it wasn't his left hand, unless there was some overriding reason: he was aware the undercover cop knew what that meant, and he was trying to lie his way out of it.

known

been.

Long day.

If I was Larry Craig and I was innocent. I would be on the phone to Larry King and have them hook up a lie detector test and take it on national TV. I would do the same thing if I were OJ and innocent. Ever wonder what the odds against Bush ever getting hooked up to one would be?

Oh, I doubt this, and your lawyer (you'd hire one) would forbid you to do it.

Only a truly naive person wouldn't have lawyered up here.

Craig was clearly afraid of the publicity, and justifiably so, because, as was proven this week, even a whiff of toilet sex is fatal in America.

"...even a whiff of toilet sex is fatal in America. "

Especially when paired with the stench of hypocrisy.

Not a hypocrite if he's not gay.

The only serious accusation against Craig is by a disgruntled gay guy who re-registered Democrat before making his accusation in 2004.*

During its 8 month investigation, the Statesman interviewed 300 people, visited the ranch where Craig grew up, and made two trips to Washington, D.C. The paper also interviewed 41 of Craig's fraternity brothers and didn't come up with any corroboration.*

Gee, if I talk funny like Craig,* will the Dems accuse me of being a Righty not-so-Tighty closeted, self-loathing hypocrite too?

"Not a hypocrite if he's not gay."

What...he's not gay, but his boyfriends are?

If he's not gay (or bi-), that's fine, he's just guilty of of trolling for anonymous gay sex in an airport bathroom, while voting against gays serving in the military and against legislation protecting gays. However, trolling for gay sex to the point of knowing all the secret hand signals suggests to me he's done this before. Do you have any explanation how he knew it was the left hand with which to signal? He seemed especially vehement denying it was his left hand. It wouldn't matter which hand to anyone, unless Craig knew the lingo, and feared the undercover was aware of the lingo as well.

But NOT a hypocrite? Sure, in Bizzaro World.

Who knew, when he told his wife he was a one-woman man, he was telling the truth?

"Not a hypocrite if he's not gay. "

How is that? He campaigned on family values during the day and trolled for extramarital gay anonymous bathroom sex at night.

How on Earth is that not hypocritical?

Craig never admitted to a gay sex solicitation to Karsnia, in fact, he repeatedly denied it.

He didn't plead guilty to this either. He pled guilty to 'disorderly conduct,' and he only pled guilty to that in the hope that it wouldn't be publicized.

I doubt Craig is gay or even bisexual. Prove me wrong, guys.

"Prove me wrong, guys."

Funny stuff, as no one can "prove" a negative. You can't prove he's straight, either. But you're welcome to your opinion...as ludicrous as it is.

"Craig never admitted to a gay sex solicitation"

And OJ never admitted to murder. So what? You still haven't addressed the salient question: How did Senator Craig know all the secret foot and hand signals?

Did he?

Karsnia never proved this. He never took his sting operation to the next step.

Did he?

Karsnia never proved this. He didn't took his sting operation to the logical next step. Which proves that he was more interested in making an arrest than in proving that the arrestee guilty of the charge.

In my neck of the woods, the D.A. would have refused to file this case.

"In my neck of the woods, the D.A. would have refused to file this case."

All the more reason a Senator who doesn't understand the value of legal council or the ramifications of a guilty plea shouldn't be in power..

"Did he? Karsnia never proved this."

Did you listen to the audio tape? How could anyone listen to that and conclude a) Craig wasn't trolling, or b) Craig wasn't a veteran of these encounters...?

Craig lit the fuse on his own ouster, though, when he publicly proclaimed he wasn't gay. Senators more familiar with Craig knew his "partners" would come out of the woodwork (bathroom?) proving him a liar. Also, it seems Senators listening to the audio tape came to a conclusion quite opposite yours .

But then...if you're right, and he's not gay, and he wasn't trolling for anonymous sex in a men's airport bathroom, why did the Rs show him the door?

"He didn't take his sting operation to the next logical step. "

Unzipping?

The Dems yell to the rooftops that Craig is gay. Of course they do. But this doesn't prove he is.

Copper Karsnia never proved his case. Too bad. No one can know for certain now.

"He didn't take his sting operation to the next logical step." (ocmaf)

Unzipping? (Posted by Danforth)

Yes. Or crawling out from under the stall partition. Or making a direct (verbal) sex solicitation to the officer. Anything.

"The Dems yell to the rooftops that Craig is gay."

Well, I'm no Dem, but it doesn't matter whether or not he's gay. Or bi-. Or straight. What matters is this "family values" guy obviously wasn't talking about his family.

"No one can know for certain now."

Riiiiiiiiiight...provided you keep your head in the sand.

Really, pretend all you want he's not gay/bi, pretend he wasn't trolling, pretend the Senators who saw him every day didn't know what was happening, and pretend is was just a coincidence he knew all the secret hand and foot signals of anonymous gay bathroom airport sex. Actually, I'm not surprised: pretending is about par for today's Republicans and their supporters.
