Seung Hui Cho wrote a paper for a Virginia Tech English class about a gunman planning a mass school shooting, one year before he killed 32 students and faculty members and himself in the deadliest shooting by an individual in U.S. history, according to sources familiar with the paper.

Confucious say:

Killer Seung Hui Cho = "Huge unheroic skill"

Hindsight is always 20/20.

Had they, the VA Tech administration, done something to the POS at that point though the ACLU and all the liberals would be screaming freedom of speech.

AMAZING the issues that could be addressed and solved though if we were proactive instead of reactive in our law enforcement and intelligence gathering.

But hey, its illegal to wiretap, gather intel, etc...

Thanks LIBS...

I once wrote a short story about having wild monkey sex with Catherine Bell, but you don't see me chasing her around the set trying to hump her leg. (not that the thought of that isn't mildly arousing)

On a serious note, I'm concerned that all this fuss over something that some crazed individual wrote might result in having a chilling effect on those who dare to challenge the boundaries of what constitutes fictional writing. If extreme story concepts start becoming grist for hysterical mobs to break out the torches and pitchforks, then guys like Frank Miller and Steven King would be well counciled to keep their pinkies off their keyboards for a while. Maybe they could find the safe house where Salmon Rushdie is laying low. See what happened to him, and all he did was say Mohammad had wild monkey sex with Catherine Bell.

This is more akin to the story of the kid that got jerked out of school for drawing guns. What a bunch of hysterical Cassandras we're all becoming.

But hey, its illegal to wiretap, gather intel, etc...

Thanks LIBS...

You're welcome.

From the article:

Additionally, Virginia State Police officials, who also have a copy of the paper, said they could not give it to the panel under state law because it is part of the investigative file.

Are they still trying to figure out who did it?

I would think the investigation would be over now.

In almost any place but the US of NRA this probably would never have happened.

I know this will set those who need a gun to get it up a howling but the truth is there for anyone to see: flood a country with guns and people will die who didn't need to die.

I'm not a gun lover, and I don't own one.

I'm also a liberal, but I don't want anyone messing with the second amendment.

If they can change that one, what stops them from changing the others?

The Bill of Rights must not be changed.

It turns out all of these school shooters were under the influence of psychotropic drugs.

Of course it wouldn't have happened like that...HE WOULD HAVE USED A DAMN SUICIDE BOMB! Or perhaps you have never heard of that shit happening in other "civilized" places!

The GUN didn't kill those poor people...I am sorry if I offended your liberal ass!

Please stop pissing yourself. why is it that libs are call spineless but those on the right seem to be terrified of everything??? So terrified that the only way to be safe is to watch everyone all the time. This country has been fine without tapping everyones phone and it will continue to be fine without it. So go change your huggies and relax. I own a gun and can protect myself, you know personal responiblity. I dont need you to worring your pretty little head off about everyone else. Bad shit happens that's life and in a free society it will happen more offen. It is a price we pay for our freedoms. You want to go to a country where the government reads everyone's email and listen's in on there calls move to China, i am sure you would finally feel safe there. But dont bring that commi Bullshit to the Country i love.

But hey, they are doing all that stuff anyway...

Thanx CONS...

You think the Cho Massacre at VT woulda been averted if the FBI had been allowed to tap his phone indiscriminitely?

Interesting theory.

Maybe if they had hauled him in after he wrote this paper they coulda waterboarded him and then gotten him to admit that he was planning on becoming mentally imbalanced and actually carrying out such an assault a year later?

Yeah, that's the ticket!

Just to straighten you out.

It's not illegal to wiretap folks phones or collect intel.

It just can't be done willy nilly with no regard given to the concept of over-sight.

Hoover and Nixon taught us that.

Bush teaches us again.

Cho, by all evidence, including this latest revelation, was crying out to be noticed as a potential danger and nobody took those cries seriously enuff till it was all too late. A lot of this had to do with the fact that the Cho's are a very religious family who distrust modern psychiatry and eschewed treatment fer their son.

Be Well.

anybody that looks strange should be questioned and reported to the FBI/Homeland Security .. it's your duty to do so.

Chertoff will make sure they git the job done properly, too:>)

Chertoff: "Radical Ideologies" Threaten Internet

by Kurt Nimmo

Global Research, October 22, 2006
Another Day in the Empire

According to Ministry of Homeland Security don Michael Chertoff, "disaffected people living in the US may develop radical ideologies and potentially violent skills over the Internet, something that can present the next major security threat to the nation and to the world," reports Reuters.

"We now have a capability of someone to radicalize themselves over the Internet," he told a meeting of the International Association of the Chiefs of Police. "They can train themselves over the Internet. They never have to necessarily go to [a CIA-ISI created] training camp or speak with anybody else and that diffusion of a combination of hatred and technical skills in things like bomb-making is a dangerous combination," Chertoff said. "Those are the kind of terrorists that we may not be able to detect with spies and satellites."

In order to combat these supposed miscreants, the Ministry will "deploy 20 field agents this fiscal year into intelligence fusion centers,' where they [will] work with local police agencies."

Shocker!
