Many older Americans routinely engage in vaginal intercourse, oral sex and masturbation, a landmark study into a long-taboo subject reported Wednesday.

No surprise here. Yes, sex becomes less frequent, but it doesn't go away completely. The little blue pills help a lot, too.

Do they make your fist look attractive?

Goatman,

Your wife told us that you complained about the pills costing $4 each when they came out.

Then she reminded you that that was only $12 a year.

Sniper,

Years now, and you finally said sumthin' funny (flag).

RCADE, that's the most incredible headline re-write I've ever seen.

Your wife told us ...;"

My wife died 8 years ago. Try substituting "fuck-buddy" for wife. BTW, where do you get the stuff? Even with insurance, I pay about $8.50 a pop.

"...has received little attention..."

It's not a pretty sight.

"Do they make your fist look attractive?"

No, stupid. That's what the KY is for.

"fuck-buddy" , lol!

Haven't tried the blue pills, but then, luckily I don't take many pills of any kind. Maybe when I get as old as you and Zat, lol.

Not to mention Tad. (Please don't mention Tad!)

I just remembered that as a joke someone hung on the boss's door years ago, back when I had bosses.

RCADE, that's the most incredible headline re-write I've ever seen.

"Older People Still Make the Beast With Two Backs" was too long.

KY makes your fist look attractive? Weird.

After reading this, I wonder why our resident septugenarian Vernon doesn't get none. I guess his poor mate may not get away with telling him that no one their age is doing it anymore. Let's all say a prayer that she will be able to look at his tiny general and shrunken raisin sack without laughing. (Even I'm not mean enough to wish humiliation on the old coot.)

RCade - yours is better anyway. More original.

(By the way, am I the only one who thinks it's weird when people openly admit, even brag about, taking Viagra?)

By the way, am I the only one who thinks it's weird when people openly admit, even brag about, taking Viagra?

Is there some sort of unspoken shame associated with it? I also take insulin and an occaisonal asprin. oooooh -- scandalous

Viagra?

Maybe when I'm 80.

At 58 I'm just no longer multi-orgasmic.

"At 58 I'm just no longer multi-orgasmic."

Exactly. I can't go twice a night anymore. Sometimes after a really good session I have to wait a couple of days to recharge. Thanks to modern pharmaceutical wonders it doesn't take as long to recharge the battery so to speak.

Awwwww, too bad. You missed a full length photo of model Heidi Blum in a bikini holding a GOAT. Seriously, that was the photo. funny too. Blue Coat Web Filter is stricter than the nuns I knew in high school.

typo above -- it's Heidi Klum -- not Blum.

Trust me.
At 58 mutual foot massages can be orgasmic.

Message to Goatman

Sorry you lost a wife.
My ex (>21yrs) and I are best friends as parents.
And we did good.
Batted 1000.
And we have, in her words, "history."
Our two kids are doing fine.

And I'm now married to the most amazing woman I ever met back in the 60's.

Life is good if you're lucky.

It would've been 24 years for me this year. We were best friends as well. So much so that I really would, as Kris Kristoferson sings, trade all my tomorrows for a single yesterday. In a heartbeat.

Goat

Any kids?

My two are grown, well-educated, debt-free, out to survive.

Interesting reading your blogs.

That was a beautiful post. Sorry for your loss. It never really gets easier even after eight years. People who speak of "closure" don't know what they are talking about.

I echo chris Goat,

Been married 12 years now can't imagine life without her.

"People who speak of "closure" don't know what they are talking about."

You have no idea.

"Been married 12 years now can't imagine life without her."

That's why obe must never take their spouse for granted. Cherish every moment. Things come out of the blue. My wife was only 41 when the cancer got her. Thankfully it was a quick one as cancers go. She died 6 weeks after being diagnosed. It was a quick growing, virtually untreatable form. Adenocarcinoma. Spread like wildfire in her body. Even though he was still a boy my son and I had each other.

Thanks Goat the next time my wife and I go at each other over some stupid crap, I'll do my best to remember that.

I wish I could give you something as valuable.

Sadly I am short of sage advice.

"Sadly I am short of sage advice."

You aren't. We all have it in us. It'll come at the right time.

"It'll come at the right time."

That's what she said.

I still hav to hear about my grandparents' sex life, and they're well into their 80's.

Not very good conversation for Sabbath dinner, if you ask me.

"Mine's in grad school.
Magna Cum Laude BS."

Mine has a HS education. He's applying for an offshore job this coming Monday.

All of you old farts talking about having sex is grossing me out.
Can we change the subject to bridge of canasta or something?

You'd rather talk about playing canasta than playing under the sheets?

"You'd rather talk about playing canasta than playing under the sheets?"

Must be a Danish thing. That and great breakfast pastries.

Ya but did you see these photo's of my ol'lady!

Jeff

thank you for ruining my day. I wish the company's web server filter had caught that.

Sorry Goatman,
A joke that crossed the line....

Good for them. It gives us all something to look forward to.

Life is good if you're lucky.

cool.......mini series potential perhaps......

the thing most striking here is that there are many of you who are some really old sunsabitches.......

glad I "AINT THAT OLD".....

well okay maybe its closer than that but a song keeps going through my head..........as songs are prone to do.

VIVA VIAGRA.....

VIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

VIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

V II AGRA......

(think elvis)........

"VIVA VIAGRA.."

Funny...the first time I saw that commercial I thought that was you!

This must be your new theme song!

People who speak of "closure" don't know what they are talking about.

in cases of losing spouses and children, there is no such thing as closure...
remember my dad sitting in folding chair 14 years after the love of his life died, and he still sat there at my mom's grave and grieving like it was last week.........
irony of all..........15 years after placing my son some 10 feet away from her and now him, I sit in a folding chair greiving like it was last week.
its not a matter of closure, its a matter of getting up in the morning, doing what you have to do, and then doing the same thing tomorrow.

and look at how this 'light' subject has turned into more sadness, but its these posts that somehow bring us who are so diametrically opposed on politics a little closer.

but hey.....to get back into the groove....

LIBERALS SUCK..................

WHEW.....okay I feel better now.........

and as I have said on occasion....

you young whippersnappers will learn soon enough that at a certain age, not only is it almost as good but you look forward more to a good shit than getting some poon.

oh lisa......you know that it makes you all wet and tingly just "BRINGING UP" the subject with me.....

get it...bringing up the subject..

get it

good morning you little.............

little.............

ray of sunshine..........

ha....you thought I was going somewhere else didnt you?????????????/

"oh lisa......you know that it makes you all wet and tingly just "BRINGING UP" the subject with me"

That thing is so small, one would hardly notice if it was "BRINGING UP"!

For heaven sake...how many times must I tell you to take off those readers? Everything looks bigger with them on!

I think there is a joke here...something about objects in rear view mirrow are closer than they appear....or larger or something like that.

anyway.......I am so glad that YOU GOT TO TALK TO ME TODAY.........it is always nice to know that you brought a little happiness to someone each day....

giggle giggle..........

and now its on to the track....I KNOW THAT TODAY IS THE DAY that I fill out that IRS form..

IM GONNA BE RICH!!!!!!!

Actually, I think there has always been a little bit of shame in not being able to get a hard-on.

Goat - I can't express how sorry I feel for your loss. Even though I don't know you, losing my wife, especially at such a young age, is incomprehensibly difficult to imagine. I'm glad you and your son had eachother to lean on.

That pre-boomer generation rocks!

Since this is your thread I thought I could catch you on here --

re: NQ5H -- I can't figure out the UTC for 0100 today (8/25) or 2100 for tomorrow (8/26) to listen from Los Angeles.

I pulled up a UTC converter and still don't quite get it for figuring out those two dates in L.A. time (today's is tomorrow's or what? -- Mr. Wizard I'm not).

I did hit 'listen live' to see what it even sounded like and after the player loaded all I heard a low "rrrrrrrrrrr" ham radio sound in the background the entire time. Do people ever talk on that thing?

After reading this, I wonder why our resident septugenarian Vernon doesn't get none. I guess his poor mate may not get away with telling him that no one their age is doing it anymore. Are you sure about Vernon having to salute a tiny general?. Vernon sent in his photo standing next to
one of his shoes and you know what they say about guys with big hands or big feet.

"Do people ever talk on that thing?"

Constantly.
Sometimes the receiver at the web feed doesn't hear anything.

Rooney, 6Y5RP, is net control now from just outside Kingston, Jamaica. He made it through Dean OK.
Since you are UTC-impaired: Tonight I have the net at 8PM CDT, that's 6PM PDT. Tomorrow I have it at 4PM CDT, that's 2PM PDT.

Thanks, Zat.

I'll check it out. Maybe the 'live stream' on my computer will kick in.

GOAT

...I also take insulin and an occasional asprin....

Check out this story linked below. You were probably already aware of it. Allegedly none were sold here in the U.S., but you never know.

"One Touch" insulin testers from China found to give false readings
