Vice President Cheney's office acknowledged for the first time yesterday that it has dozens of documents related to the administration's warrantless surveillance program, but it signaled that it will resist efforts by congressional Democrats to obtain them.

...it will resist efforts by congressional Democrats to obtain them.

Color Spud unsuprised.

WH counsel Fred F. Fielding has also declined to turn over any documents about the program, telling lawmakers last week that more time was needed to locate records that might be responsive to the panel's subpoenas.

Anybody else see a problem with this so-called logic? We have yer documents but we don't have ALL of them so we'll wait some more before giving you ANY of them.

Cheney's playing Congress fer saps here.

Spud can't wait till Bowa shows up to explain how all this is covered under National Security and Executive Privilege, and how the Veeps office isn't really part of the executive branch anyways.

That's always fun fer Spud.

Spud goes to make popcorn now and wait.

Be Well.

Cheny should resist. Executive Privilege. The Bush Administration has a slam dunk win position here.

The Dem controlled Congress has a historical low 18% approval rating because of this kind of crap. Where is social security reform? This effects hundreds of millions of Americans yet the dumb Dems have to constantly go after Bush, Cheney and Rove. What about stopping gangs and reducing crime to save lives? What about rebuilding the infrastructure? The Dems are just shameful.

I bet they are all in that Man-sized safe in Cheney's office.

Stuffed in there with a few lawyers he accidentally snuffed on hunting trips maybe...or worse!

Darth Cheney will never hand over the documents while Speedy ( but forgetful) Gonzales is AG. Those documents would incriminate both Bush and Cheney.

They broke Federal law with the wiretapping program and the documents would prove it.

Are we a country of LAWS or not. Or do the LAWS only apply to the "little people".

There is only one way to Bush and that is through Alberto and Cheney.

All 3 are criminals. Putting their own interestes and that of their party above their country they will protect each other to the bitter end.

UTASTAFF

Lest you forget, Congress can pass all the laws it wants to. So long as the president won't sign them they don't become law.

See how it works?

...that Man-sized safe in Cheney's office

If Gonzo ever goes missing that's the first place Spud is gonna look.

Great, now Spud has that
stoopid song stuck in his head again.

Thanks AmericanUnity! Thanx a whole bunch!

Be Well.

PS: To Wisdawg...

Like that takes any talent?

Spud suggests it's more a lack of scruples than an over-abundance of talent on Cheney's part.

Sure, Spud, that's what it is. More like a single A farm team that was thrown into the majors.

What a pathetic tool. Utah, eh? Big F-ing surprise.

Wait...Cheney is in the executive branch AGAIN? I can't keep up.

How about we fire everyone in Washington who can't accurately describe or remember their jobs?

A farm team that was thrown into the majors

Spud won't agree with the farm team analogy and thinks BushCo are strictly Bush league to begin with but Spud will agree insofar as to note that Dickless (of the 5 Deferments) Chainedheat is a MAJOR league asshole.

Big time.

With all due respect.

Be Well.

Guess that means Pedro the Janitor would be our new president.

I keed.

Maybe.

I wouldn't mind a president who actually had his hand in a toilet bowl before...like most Americans have.

No more millionaires, please.

..........this administration is a crime family.....

Yeah, cuz the president is a Democrat and Democrats controlled Congress for the past six years and ....and....oh wait....oh never mind.

So they should be allowed to tap our phones on a whim and we are supposed to be OK with that because if we're innocent, we have nothing to worry about.

Under the same logic, shouldn't Cheney have no problem giving us the details of the program if he's not doing anything wrong? Can this old coot be any more of a blatant hypocrite?
