A military judge on Monday dismissed two of the most serious charges against the only officer accused of abusing detainees at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison after an investigator acknowledged he failed to read the defendant his rights.

I can't see why. I mean they took all of those horrible pictures and made those poor muslims wear underwear on their heads. They should all be hanged!

Uhm, you probably shoulda read the article Lay.

The charges were dropped because of a legal technicality...

"The investigator, Maj. Gen. George Fay, contacted prosecutors Sunday to say that he ''misspoke'' when he testified during a hearing that he had advised Jordan of his rights during a 2004 interview."

I read the article and it said he allowed them to be assulted (whatever that may be) and be humiliated. Neither one would be a capital offense in the real world. I guess in the new PC world it is a big deal to be humiliated. I would perfer that to getting my head cut off like they do to many of their prisoners. As a mater of fact, many of us have been humiliated and never have brought charges against anybody.

Be that as it may, Sniper, the charges were not dropped because it was determined that they had no merit. They were dropped because they forgot to Mirandize him.

They Were Tortured And Raped, but I guess that is ok in your book, correct?

-Sarge

Meanwhile no charges for the higher ups who knew all about this and even ordered it to be done.

Of course the Lt Col is going to get off. Meanwhile, the privates sit in jail. Typical military "justice". Technicality my ass...that investigator was probably paid off.

The Worst Of The Photos Were Not Released, I can tell you I've seen them and these you see don't even come close !!

Last May, members of Congress sat in a dark room and viewed the images. Their responses begged for further elaboration. "It was disgusting," said Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson. "There were new ones that we hadn't seen before, and they're bad. I mean there's no doubt about that." Bad enough to show to Congress apparently, but not the American people.

The NewsHour's Ray Suarez said the images reportedly depict "assault, coerced sexual activity, rape, even dead bodies." Some may have originated outside of Abu Ghraib. Rep. Jane Harman said she saw videos of a prisoner banging his head against a wall and a group of men masturbating. "Some of the videos are more disturbing than the still photos that you've seen," added Sen. Bill Nelson.

But Sarge, do you mean to say that what happened at Abu Ghraib was actually worse than just putting underwear on prisoner's heads?

Surely that just can't be! Our friends to the right have assured us that it was nothing more than a little fraternity hazing. And I know they would never, ever minimize something like that.

Right, Sure You have.....

-Sarge

Four Soldiers from the 320th MP Battalion had been formally charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) with detainee abuse. Doesn't say rape and assult or did I miss something?

SanAntonioRogue,

I would love to see Rush and Sean at that Abu Ghraib Prison Pledging !!!

Are you kidding? Sinper would pay extra for the rape, especially if they promised not to use any lube. (

(Good to have you back, Sarge.)

Who were these US personell, and why aren't they prosecuted if these congressmen and women saw them?
Clearly they weren't military personell.

I just don't buy the whole of what you kooks are selling. Dead bodies?...Who fucking cares? Coerced sexual activity?...Dudes being forced to jerk-off (how does one even get hard in a situation like that) seems like a stretch. Rape?...Did somebody have a birthday candle placed in their ass crack?

I'm not going to any "memoryhole" or an equally ridiculous site. If there is a mainstream media source that covers this in detail then post it, but without a doubt this is being sensationalized.

MSM, 101? Sean Hannity would slap you with his limp wrist for suggesting someone rely on the mainstream media!

101 - sure, don't go to any of those sites. Then you can pretend those photos don't really exist and it was just somebody with a birthday candle in their ass crack.

What difference does it make what the source is - photos are photos. Members of Congress - both parties saw them, and worse.

I challenge you and Sniper to go to each of the links Sarge posted and take a good long look. Then, keeping in mind that almost all of the prisoners who were at Abu Ghraib were eventually released because they actually hadn't committed any crime, answer just this one question... Yes or No.

Is this what you want America to stand for?

You say they and their prisoners but the vast majority of those held at the prison were innocent and never charged with anything.

By attempting to collectively tag them with the insurgents you are trying to get around the US militarys use of TORTURE.

Sniper,

Taguba said, "You didn't need to see' anything--just take the secure e-mail traffic at face value."

I learned from Taguba that the first wave of materials included descriptions of the sexual humiliation of a father with his son, who were both detainees. Several of these images, including one of an Iraqi woman detainee baring her breasts, have since surfaced; others have not. (Taguba's report noted that photographs and videos were being held by the C.I.D. because of ongoing criminal investigations and their "extremely sensitive nature.") Taguba said that he saw "a video of a male American soldier in uniform sodomizing a female detainee." The video was not made public in any of the subsequent court proceedings, nor has there been any public government mention of it. Such images would have added an even more inflammatory element to the outcry over Abu Ghraib. "It's bad enough that there were photographs of Arab men wearing women's panties," Taguba said.

I know none of this phases you but of Us who have not been Diagnosed as Sociopaths, the entire Issue is Condemnable and Un-American.

-Sarge

Monty,

Thanks, I just wanted to see how things were going on over here for a while.

-Sarge

Sorry San An, but I'm not buying into some crap that congressmen and women on both sides of the aisle saw these photos and that the perps are walking scott-free.
Same with that crap from the new yorker...A member of our military was on video sodomizing an iraqi woman and miraculously he wasn't ID'd through his unit patch or get this...name tag.

Photos get doctored. Photos get staged. You can't tell me there isn't an anti-war anti-admin dem that is sitting on their hands and biting their tongue out of respect for god knows what and not blowing the whistle. Where's the book documenting such abuses by the disgruntled soldier or cia agent?

I've seen enough leftwing kook scams, and I'm not buying this one like everyone seemed to buy the nut from new republic or that other former "soldier" that never even graduated basic training yet told of atrocities that the libs pull out of the woodwork.

"Who were these US personell, and why aren't they prosecuted if these congressmen and women saw them?
Clearly they weren't military personell"

On the afternoon of May 6, 2004, Army Major General Antonio M. Taguba was summoned to meet, for the first time, with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld in his Pentagon conference room. Rumsfeld and his senior staff were to testify the next day, in televised hearings before the Senate and the House Armed Services Committees, about abuses at Abu Ghraib prison, in Iraq.

So He Is A Liar ? Right

-Sarge

Ok then 101. With that last post you have officially passed into the realm of complete right-wing tool. In your heart of hearts you know that what happened there was real and it was wrong. Sad that your denial and partisanship has completely displaced your sense of morality and loyalty to the principles that are intrinsically America.

Too bad. See ya around.

SNIPER

Did you know that 75% of those imprisoned at Abu Ghraib were later released as being totally innocent?

Great idea abusing people we're trying to win over, who go back to their neighborhoods full of hate for the U.S.. Just great for 'winning hearts and minds'.

Which we've lost over there, coincidentally.

Senator Lindsey Graham (Republican, South Carolina): "The American public needs to understand we're talking about rape and murder here

www.cbsnews.com

So A Big Time OIF Supporter Is Lying Too ?, Right !

-Sarge

Yeah, as I said, why is it again that anti-war and anti-admin Dems haven't pushed the issue?
Why hasn't the MSM asked Graham to elaborate? Why hasn't this soldier in uniform been identified and prosecuted?

I don't believe it for a second that there were any rapes on tape or in photos by any US Personel. I could give a frogs fat ass if somebody was slapped around or made to look at pornography.

How is it again that prisoners are forced to get hard and then jerk-off?

How is it Levin just let this slide instead of making noise?

Why are the soldiers from the 101st being prosecuted for rape (and rightfully fucking so), yet the Abu's get a pass?

Sorry fruitcakes, there's just too many holes and too much leftwing whack-job photo doctoring and supposed military atrocity claiming by leftwing plants that have been uncovered to buy it.

I'm heading to Binghamton for a couple of days, and by then Rcade will have caught up on his post policing. If I'm allowed back in 10 days I'll follow up with your honey-combed stories.

101 - we'll miss you. I hope you're able to cure that rash, and that the sore is just herpes and not a chancre.

Regards,
mOntecOre

That Was The Entire Idea Not To Piss Of The Muslims Lowest Charges At It's Lowest Levels. All Knew That If They Get Fucking Crazy Over Cartoon, What Would Rape Charges And Convictions Do To The Arab Muslims ?

This Entire thing Was A Cover-Up So The Muslims Would Not Go crazy All over The World. All Of Congress As You Stated didn't Want To Stir This Hornets Nest Up.

Now Both Graham and Taguba both saw the video and are on record saying what they saw.

By the Way Graham is A USAF JAG, So I Guess He Would Just Say :

"The American public needs to understand we're talking about rape and murder here"

Graham has served in the United States Air Force since 1982, serving on active duty until 1988, and then in the South Carolina Air National Guard and as an Air Force reservist. During the Gulf War, he was recalled to active duty, serving as a Judge Advocate at McIntire Air National Guard Station in Eastover, South Carolina, where he helped brief departing pilots on the laws of war. In 2004, Graham received a promotion to Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserves at a White House ceremony officiated by President George W. Bush.

While in the Air Force Standby Reserve, Graham served as an appellate judge on the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals. In September 2006 the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces ruled that it was a violation of the Incompatibility Clause of the Constitution, which states that "no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office", for Graham to have been a judge on the criminal appeals court.[1]

Forget it Sarge. He's a total idealogue and not worth the breath it takes to tell the truth he refuses to see. An irredeemable wastoid.

BL2 - Just in case you missed it - the charges were NOT dropped because the case had no merit. They were dropped on a technicality because the suspect wasn't Mirandized. Just so ya know.

Kind of a hollow victory for you, huh?

This is a good thing. Those Islamic terrorists deserved everything they got and then some. They had to wear underwear on their heads? Big deal. American troops were beheaded when they were captured.

I Truly Do Not Know What To Say, Not All Of These People Were Guilty And Not One Of Them Cut Off Any Soldiers Head Period !!

I Guess:

General Taguba said that he saw "a video of a male American soldier in uniform sodomizing a female detainee."

Senator Lindsey Graham (Republican, South Carolina): "The American public needs to understand we're talking about rape and murder here"

So Out Of all This You Only Get Panties No Torture Just Panties?

God Have Mercy On Your Soul !

-Sarge

Sarge - University of Texas-Arlington Janitor is another one of those who are hopeless - perhaps even worse than 101. Here's the best way to respond to such an utter lack of understanding of the issue...

Stoooooooooopiiiiiiiiid.

San,

You said it Brother !

-Sarge

A General saw an american soldier rape somebody and mysteriously didn't pursue it. Does that seem strange to you fucking idiots?

Sarge,
The military article 15's people for severe sunburn and bouncing checks, you're a fucking retard if you believce rape on film would be dismissed.

Didn't Murtha (a decorated Marine) throw a bunch of other Marines under the bus before their trial. Wasn't he hailed as some hero to the left for convicting the Marines before their trial as murderers? How's that going by the way?
