This guy is a nutjob. If he were wandering around any downtown in America and shouting this out people would cross over the street to avoid him. Give him a congregation and an Internet radio program and we're supposed to think he isn't mentally ill?

It's tough to be in politics or just in the public eye. On one hand you have people supporting you that you don't want support from and on the other hand you have dumb powerless people using the old "get'em in trouble with the IRS" tactic.

Ever want to make an anonymous tip to the IRS on your boss because he fired you sorry ass?

dumb powerless people using the old "get'em in trouble with the IRS" tactic.

Americans United for Separation of Church and State is neither. Didn't know Husksterbee was a Southern baptist minister.
Go Rudy!

This story needs no comment.

using the IRS tactic is a desparate act, IMHO.

using the IRS tactic is a desparate act, IMHO.

Sort of like the Republicans going after Kos?
nah.
If you read the article, the AU folk go after both Democrat and Republican supporting Churches.
Maybe we should just consider the Constitution a scrap of paper and get rid of those pesky rights.

Bond: Do you expect me to talk?
Goldfinger: No, Mr. Bond...I expect you to die.

I know. It has nothing to do with the topic of the thread, i.e. another tightly-wrapped nut job that thinks God will just kill anybody the pious prick thinks could use a little premature enrapturing. Perhaps he can call up Pat Robertson and borrow a smidge of that "meteor death from above" stuff. (snort...chortle)

So, if the people this nut is trying to pray to death don't die then it must mean God is ignoring their prayers. Which must mean that he disapproves of their choice of presidential candidate which mean God doesn't want Huckabee to be our president.
I'm not surprised. God has pretty good judgement.

a Christian prays for the death of his critics, something is wrong with this picture. If there is a God, he should strike this evil Christain dead.

why is it that evil people usually call themselves Christian, especially when Jesus said "...love thy enemies"

Strange don't you think?

Last:
"because he fired you sorry ass?"
Did you try this? Maybe if you had paid more attention in English class, they may have taken you more seriously.

Woo Hoo! Spud is learn new word/term!

"imprecatory prayer"

Wozzat? ...a Death-Prayer?! Yer kidding? Not?

Okay, fer who again?

...targeting Barry W. Lynn, Joe Conn and Jeremy Leaming of Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

AUSCS? Wot's this "seperation" nonsense? George Bush clearly described it being as an important BRIDGE connecting Church and State, doncha know?

Eye DON'T Heart Huckabee's internut supporter here.

"The prayer does call for serious, serious punishment on people. But I didn't call for that, God did,"

God's Fault? Talk about desperate Acts!

Wishing death on a man and wanting his kids to grow up as orphans? And not just any orphans...

"Let his children be continually vagabond..."

That some cold shit, right there.

Southern Baptist? Sounds more like a Deep Fried Southern Talibaptist Death Cult to Spud.

Perhaps he can call up Pat Robertson and borrow a smidge of that "meteor death from above" stuff. (snort...chortle)

FF fer Dutch.

Yeah, this piddly assed li'l imprecatory prayer aint nothing. This guy should ask to borrow Pat's copy of the Necronomicon. They got some kick ass death-prayers in the back of that puppy.

Be Well.

"The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe with blood for centuries."
-James Madison

~James Madison

James Madison, eh?

(Not to be confused with James A Madison Elementary, btw)

Spud likes that quote.

Spud flagged it newsworthy cos some folk still aint figured it out yet.

Be Well.

"~James Madison"

James Madison, eh?

Yeah
He wrote the Second Amendment, too.

"A well-regulated militia, composed of the body of the people trained in arms, is the best defense of a free state."
-James Madison

He wrote the Second Amendment, too.

He wrote 2 too?

Hopefully not whilst wearing an actual tutu cos that woulda been too too weird even fer Spud.

But the second ammendment?

That's a good ammendment.

"A people should never be afraid of their government a government should be afraid of the people"

Be Well.

Next will come a name change

Jim Jones maybe?

He can't even be touched because he is a friend of the treehugger types

???

A bat sanctury in his head.*befry)

Imprecatory prayer doesn't sound like something all that uncommon. Just so few admit to it. Seriously folks people are praying for the military to win .... oh yeah but that's different...

Military victory often usually involves a lot of dead...

Keep on praying.

God has pretty good judgement.

Being the omnipotent being he is, why did he allow the Iraqi war to take place? That sounds like pretty bad judgement to me.

"that happens when not getting any and no 'getting' in sight........."

Tell me about it. I've been on this rig for a week and have 4 or 5 more to go. As in the Jackson Brown song:

"Looks like it's you and me again tonight, Rosie"

"Tell me about it. I've been on this rig for a week and have 4 or 5 more to go."

Just about every day we see more and more the real Christianty exposed for what it is.The claim of those trying to vindicate the charge that the bible is love know nothing about what is contained in the pages of the book known as the bible. The reality is the bible proves all points of view depending on what persuasion you may be prone too. You don't need an eye in the sky to do the right thing.

those crazy sobaps!

they need to just keep to trying to get to the restaurants before the rest of u.s. after church on sundays...

Lisa:
I was right about BL2.

Nanc:
Our preacher used to let us out early just to beat them to the restaurants.

Acts 59While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep.

The minister in the headline was wrong.

Her ya go zatoichi:

It's time we started thinking of politics as another form of religion. It's just as nasty and divorced from reality.

I declare Ragnarok on you, infidel!

"The reality is the Bible proves all points of view...."

It's human nature to make things read the way you want them. You read the Bible and, presto, it proves your perceptions as well. Your nature and human nature, not God's.

They all worked for me.
That Reuters link required a few tries.
It's very busy for some reason.
But I liked the Xinhua link better. Nice ass.

Saw an interesting program on branes the other day. I'm sure our resident physicist will enlighten.

It seems science can't decide if the universe is created or was always there, no matter what they think or find.

Infinite universes with infinite laws, but never any idea of origin to be had. Good thing we can distract ourselves with details for the next several million years.
