I think he gave the only response he could give -- Rudy's relationship with his family is nobody's business and if someone doesn't want to vote for him because they have concluded what it means when his teenage daughter seemingly supports Obama over him -- then there's nothing he can do about it.

That the far-right would make Rudy's personal life an issue is expected -- but what confuses me is that so many on the Left aee making it an issue as well-- after all it was they who had argued so passionately in defense of Clinton that what one does in their personal life has no impact on their ability to be President.

Well, all those are fair issues to criticize Rudy on and how he handles them will determine whether or not he will win the nomination. Of the three issues you cite, I think his stance on illegal immigration is really the only one which could be characterized fairly as a "flip-flop" -- and because of that it is the issue he is the most vulnerable on.

The bottom line is that there are no perfect candidates, and all of them -- democrat and republican -- have flaws and inconsitencies which they must explain if they are to become President.

Obviously, since I support Rudy I don't think his flaws are nearly as great as the other candidates -- and those who support Obama wil say the same thing about his flaws, those who support Hillary, the same thing about her flaws, etc. etc.

Rudy daughter's opinion was only inferred because she joined a facebook group in support of Obama -- after it was revealed that she was part of the group, she removed herself from the group.

As far as I know, she has made no public statements in support of Obama, or against her father's fitness to be President.

Her dislike and animosity against her father seems to be purely personal and as a result of the nasty divorce with her mother -- which is understandable.

If people want to believe that the messiness of Rudy's personal life makes him unfit to be President, then there is really nothing Rudy can do about that. As Jesus said, "he who is without sin cast the first stone".

I personally don't think his family life matters. Then again, I'm not part of the family values crowd and this is an important distinction to them. Giuliani is a one trick pony and that is enough to disqualify him. I would love to see him debate Sharpton. I would pay to see it.
